- In This HVAC Training Video, I Show how a Mini Split Heat Pump Provides Heat in a Building by Circulating R-410A or R-32 Refrigerant Through the System! I show each Step in the Refrigeration Cycle along with Temperatures at each Step! Supervision is needed by a licensed HVACR Tech while performing tasks as Experience and Apprenticeship garners Wisdom and Safety.

Thank you so much for the explanation of how the mini split works. I am a homeowner trying to understand. Thank you!
Very good explanations. Thank you.
Excellent presentation, congratulations !!!
Great video Craig. Thank you.
excellent content. Thanks
Very well explained great job
Very helpful video, thank you
very awesome!
Great video guys....
Well explained
Very nice 👍!
Thanks!
Verry good
Since the refrigerant leaving the indoor unit is liquid, does the outdoor unit need to be lower than indoor unit (gravity fed)? The Mexican HVAC guys put my outdoor unit on my roof. They also don't weigh the refrigerant or evacuate the system. My Carrier 18K mini-splits are SEER 19 but each one is using 2,500 watts constantly.
❤ excellent information. (Keep this)
Thank you
Love all your videos Craig. Do you offer a paperback and E-book combo??
Love your videos and would love to be as good as you someday. Less than a year in the trade, doing light commercial and residential. Luckily, I got hired by my teacher. Would you be able to teach us a basic on Chillers??
So the expansion valve is inside the outdoor unit ok thats good to know i figured ours was real low since the liquid line is cold as well while running AC it is still cooling fine but has frozen up a couple times but juat run fan for like 5 to 10 minutes and its fine but i think its a little low and i need to insulate out outdoor lines better because the stuff that came with it has decentigrated
As always great explanation. But how does the accumulator decide between oil and liquid refrigerant? Greetings from Germany
Very niece sir ji 🙏🇮🇳😘
If i have a heat pump in heating mode and the suction line is not even that hot to the touch, Does that mean the metering device is defective? Or can it be the compressor is not working according to the designed parameter??
Can you do this same refrigeration cycle breakdown but for a multizone heat pump system? My question is how does it direct the flow to each head if the EEVs are on the liquid line and not the vapor line??
This is explained in his book on mini splits
Well done video. Want to buy your book
What is the minimum length of refrigerator line for mini split units? Is ok to install the outdoor unit right outside behind the indoor unit with maybe 3 ft of line?
Sir is the Fieldpiece SC 680 a good meter to work on mini-splits completely
Hi sir, I have a quick question for you. I installed a two head mini split Mitsubishi system and four years later it’s not heating properly. My issue is the two indoor units are blowing lukewarm air. The outdoor unit is running fine and my vapor lines are 121°, what could be the problem could that be level on refrigerant because my vapor lines are pretty hot. If you could help, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your video. It really helps. Thanks, joe
If I had to take a random guess, you probably blew your start and or run capacitor on the condenser (outside) unit. This happened to me with my central air. Those capacitors go out a lot.
Hello sir, i have three units connected with same outdoor unit but only one of them suddenly stopped working. All this without any message or light, giving only ambient air.All others work perfectly. Now my question is: can only one indoor split lose refrigerant or not? I mean is refrigerant in common or separated?thank you.
So there’s no defrost cycle?
Will the thermistors stop the control of the fan?
Is this considered a heat pump? Do mini split ACs with R32 that also havw heating mode considered both ACs and hear pumps?
Just imagine how people are being ripped off purchasing and installing heat pumps when you can buy a 3 way mini split for the faction of the price!
Ah man, was this at BTrained?
Good day sir
How can I this book u holding...I am in Nigeria Lagos
