After this video and watching, you play the Mandolin I will say you surely are "Anne of All Trades" you should go far in your walk of life with all your energy and tenacity. This is a must watch channel. May God Bless you in all you do.
I really enjoyed the interspersing of still images. The side by side video was hard to track, but I enjoyed the entire thing. Seeing you smile while you worked was great, and then the playing at the end was just awesome.
Beautiful work, I remember when my grandfather use to take me to a old Carpenters shop and everything was made by ✋, is good for the spirit to watch this videos. Greetings from Chile.
Anne of All Trades hi, my name is Juan Ignacio, and thanks for be so kind to read and answer. Something that is common in all the world is the handcraft, here in Valdivia, my family have a "don Rene", who also is the old fashion Carpenters, he make his own chisels, etc, but now, to be a carpenter is no a good deal, everything came from others countries or is factory made. However, there are more hobbiest carpenter like me, and same have their UA-cam channels, like "carpintero del desierto", " barquito de vapor" and "henrich", I hope you can watch their channels, I have a doubt, us any of the carpenter group from USA, like Matt, Diresta ( in NY), April in the area of Boston?, Also, can you send me an email to the one that I send you please? Saludos desde Chile
hahahah yeah it could have been a really looooong one, but my attention span cuts off right about the 6 minute mark, so I figured that would be a good length for most of my videos.
Wow! Amazing craftsmanship! Came out amazing. Occasionally I get requests for chairs with our tables, but I just can't build them, and this video solidified why! Lol. I can compete with manufactures on tables, maybe even blow them away. But, can't do so on chairs, and it's a shame to see the market lost, as there is so much craftsmanship involved to build them by hand, so much artistry. Thanks for making my lunch break!
I'm binge watching these videos. And as you mentioned the Wood Whisperer in another video, I'm bouncing back and forth between his and yours. Good stuff, keep 'em comin! I've restored rockers before, but never built one from scratch, nice job.
Anne, liked this video for many reasons. It conveyed so much without a word being spoken. Watched the Instagram coverage and now the finished product. Nice going! Great results.
Fantastic. The first time I tried to make a rocking chair from a tree I had no lathe and no bandsaw. Took months. Great video! Looking forward to more.
Flutecarver11 I WISH that my workshop, it actually belongs to my friend Greg Pennington. However, I did just build a pretty cool shop at my place, and you can find the video here.
@@AnneofAllTrades You both are on mine. @wortheffort changed my life at the lathe.... And Anne and April changed about everything else for my wife and I with getting us hooked on going to this class!
I am totally captivated by this chair design. It's pretty! All of the rocking chair designs I am finding that would be a suitable match to my fledgling woodworking skills are far less elegant. One day I hope to take on something like this. Beautiful! Also, I enjoyed the dobro in the soundtrack. I like dobro.
You really are an Anne of all trades! Loved all the hand tool work. I don't know about you but I feel like using hand tools really lets you connect with what you are building. Something peaceful about it. Great way of putting the video together as well. The banjo playing at the end was killer. Also, extra double bonus points for doing two layers/two different colors of milk paint. Will be awesome to see it in like 50 years as the top layer wears down and the base layer starts to show.
I've watched a couple of video's and I'm not sure what your videos are about or if I could just be to old to get it but I got to say your attention to details and your skill for your age are all extremely impressive your truely wise beyond year's
That thing is so Awesome! I need to make my own now. That arched back fascinates me, like how? I know; using steam, I saw in the video, but still. that thing is gorgeous, I would sit in that thing all day everyday until i was dead.
I like it when a person takes on a task to prove that they can do it, especially when it is a woman taking on a task that is normally done by men. I truly love it when you see them doing this task with a smile on their face.
P.S. I still want to see some live action builds. The slideshows are nice, but a little explanation on the why's and whatfores would be nice, as well as getting to watch you actually build the items. Nice pickin' at the end there.
Check out some of my other videos- the tusk build is a how-to, as is the axe handle. This being my first chair, I didn't feel qualified to "teach" this project. Also, were I to add any vocal overlay, this would have been a 2 hour long video, and I don't think many would care to watch something of that length on this platform. If interested in really in-depth material, I'll be building a writing desk for Marc Spagnuolo's Wood Whisperer Guild which will include step by step plans and muuuuuuultiple hours of footage. The project is available for pre-order now. thewoodwhispererguild.com/product/writing-desk/
OMGosh! So I'm catching up on your videos and I think this one is my favorite so far! So inspiring (why most of us UA-cam, to be inspired!) and such positive energy and talent! From start to end the chair build, design was a pleasure to watch...and then the really good picking at the end?!? Really nice musical talent! This is a great video, great production! BTW, I love the literary ring to Anne of All Trades...I think most of us would add..."Anne of All Trades...& Talents!" Thanks for sharing & Blessings for the New Year! :)
Thank you all for being here! Please support my channel by sharing my videos!
it was really heart-warming at the end, seeing you playing the mandolin. I felt like the music matched the chair super well.
thank you! I'll try to include more mando in my videos.
love the pajama shot!
And she plays the mandolin. Adam is a lucky man to have Anne. Great work and I love the shop.
Beautiful chair, outstanding work.
I thought I was a good wood worker. You are awsome. Love the shop.
After this video and watching, you play the Mandolin I will say you surely are "Anne of All Trades" you should go far in your walk of life with all your energy and tenacity. This is a must watch channel. May God Bless you in all you do.
Thank you Mark!
That is a beautiful chair! 70 hours seems like a small amount of effort for a lifetime of memories.
I really enjoyed the interspersing of still images. The side by side video was hard to track, but I enjoyed the entire thing. Seeing you smile while you worked was great, and then the playing at the end was just awesome.
Thank you!
Great job. I like the blend of skills from hand tools with more modern tools.
Great job on the chair Anne!!!
Awesome to be able to go from tree to furniture in one process ...must be great sitting in something with so much personal connection !
WOW! It must be so satisfying sitting in this very nice chair :)
Beautiful work, I remember when my grandfather use to take me to a old Carpenters shop and everything was made by ✋, is good for the spirit to watch this videos. Greetings from Chile.

Stunning! I've been in the trade 45 years and am in awe of your skills.
Thanks for the support Graham!
Mad Skills......I love that you showed this in one video instead of a 32 part mini-series like some others do....
hahahah yeah it could have been a really looooong one, but my attention span cuts off right about the 6 minute mark, so I figured that would be a good length for most of my videos.
Sounds just about right!
Wow. That rocker looks awesome. So many parts!!!
This is one of those videos that had me smiling from start to finish
Beautiful piece!!
Just a beautiful chair. It's so nice watching you work.

Enjoy your work, videos, music, fur kids, etc. Great looking chair, enjoy the journey. Looking forward to following your videos.
You are having way to much fun for one person! Thanks, I really enjoyed from tree to rocker.
Haha you may be right.

Thank you!
great job! was that white pine for the seat?
Yes sir!
I would like to learn more about using the laser for positioning holes.
Yes. That looked like a tapered reamer like I have never seen before and laser line guided.
I'd be happy to post a slower version of that video as a "shop tips" video soon.
