His voice bring back so many memories. It's crazy how familiar he still sounds.

I had never seen this before. It was great! I watched his show all the time as a kid growing up in the 1980’s.

This guy gave millions of parents and 80s daycares a 30 min coffee break.
Sincerely loved this guy as a child. Now i show my kids.

What a legend! Its a shame cbc has not released his series on bluray , or at least start to rerun the show.

A bluray release or streaming on CBC Gem would be reasonable...but the show could never air now. Its too slow paced & some of Mr.Dressups outfits wouldn't be "culturally appropriate" to the liberal-minded CBC.

@@PhilMante Meanwhile, if it were up to the current Cons, this show wouldn't have existed at all

Me too. I learned how to talk by watching Mr. Dressup. My grandma and I used to watch it together in the early 1980s.

I was born in 1964 and grew up watching this wonderful program. My oldest child was born in 1982 and she loved him as well. In 1986 I wrote to the show and he sent an autographed picture to both of my daughters. When my oldest was five she came into the house crying one day. I asked her why she was crying. She replied through her tears "Mom, Cole says Casey's a puppet. Mom Casey's not a puppet right?!!" 😂💗

Unfortunately, I don't recall Mr.Dressup but definitely have fond memories of Mr.Rogers. It's so weird how I never heard of him or can't conjure memories of the show, but either way, rest easy

My long, good memories are Mr. Dress Up and The Friendly Giant. I have to say Mr. DressUp was my favorite. His imagination, Casey and Finigan. Also the Owl. Mr. Coombs was soooo relaxed, patient and friendly. Miss those days.

I started watching the show when it was called Butternut Square because my daughter was 2 in 1964. So that would have been her first TV show.

Mr Dressup is eternal. His influence was mirrored by elementary school teachers of the 70s and 80s who channeled the imagination of their students.
Dini Petty was always beautiful as an anchor on CityTV aside Gord Martineau, and later on when she flew solo and went to CTV. From a very young age I have always thought that she was a very nice looking woman as well as a great host and presenter. I got to see her do CityPulse At Six live from Canada's Wonderland in the 1980s shortly before her departure from Chum-City, I believe it was on Canada Day because it was fireworks night.
These are two great Canadian TV icons. Seeing them together like this was a treat, thank you to the uploader for preserving this VHS tape and sharing it with the class.

Mr dress up was my all-time favorite I remember being 5 years old and watching his tv show religiously .. My dad was a teacher for first grade to 6th grade ...I remember him going off to work with his briefcase ..Saying to my mom ..."Annie likes Mr dress up better than me .." He felt kind of sad but it was kind of funny ...He was being funny too...

Four years old when I started watching Mr Dress up . I was sure Finnegan’s name was vinegan. I wish the owner of Casey and Vinnegan. didn’t abscond with her puppets, since generations of children missed them, and for what, for them to sit in a trunk?
That’s a little mean to little children. Was she looking for more money from a new show?
Wonder what happened to Wise Old Owl?
