He’d honestly probably be making median salary without UA-cam and couldn’t do 100th of what he does with UA-cam. He certainly didn’t have to use his UA-cam funds to do giveaways either. Sometimes it's wild when sharks say those things. If they're not a personal user of the product they'll be out. I remember a girl who came in with a fake flower business with good sales. And they were so out of touch with the fact that most people don't appreciate a 50$ flower arrangement that will be worthless in a few days. A shark asked lori and Barbara if they'd be happy with it, and they Said they prefer real flowers. And they judged the business based on that.

    I thought Kevin’s deal was actually really good (better than losing an additional 8% equity on a Shark who outright said they don’t have experience with this type of business). 100 dollars per transaction/sale until 1.8 million is recouped (3 x 600k) would give them 180k transactions/sales to pay Mr. wonderful. And with inflation going the way it is, as well as the sheer cost of jewelry, 100 dollars is almost negligible. If I were the business owner, I’d have retained more of my company.

    These types of companies are concerning to me. One of the problems of a lot of these “clean water” initiatives is that once the wells are built, there is no one in these local communities with the knowledge or skills to maintenance them, and they quickly fall into disrepair. I wish the sharks would have dug a bit more into the logistics of the charity portion of this business. Are they hiring and training locals to maintain the wells? Are they providing regular maintenance other ways? What is the ongoing, compounding cost to keep so many wells functional around the world?

    How to be a NRI dude on Shark Tank US 101
    - Come to the show with a product which is wayyy cheaper in India or Asia than US
    - Come up with a story of how your parents moved to US with 5 dollars in their pocket.
    - Come up with an equally BS story about providing drinking water to even a country like India.
    10K USD for a lab grown diamond ? Seriously dude?

    Don't contestants realize that the televised deals are still tentative? The real number crunching and legal scrutiny comes in the backrooms afterward. I would advise any contestant who frets about a couple percentage points in equity to just take the deal. The shark may be more lenient off camera.

But then Daniel jumped back in. Daniel was able to squeeze an extra 5% out of him in the heat of the moment. Another victim in the shark tank.

      Agree; but in giving up more he helps boost his sales and the popularity of the brand by several folds. So I feel it was worth the deal. These sharks are household names. You strike a deal with them; you make money and they make money. I get it that they are greedy; but if someone does not want the deal; they are free to walk away. They go home with free advertising which is still worth the value in gold. Its a win win situation either way. I still think he should have taken Kevin's offer. Though it had a royalty; he'd end up giving up only 6^%; which is what he was wanting to give up to begin with. From that point of view; he didn't make a good deal.

    • @Gabriel-fz4ys
      @Gabriel-fz4ys Рік тому +1

      I would agree with you if the margins weren't so thin. The sales numbers are misleading because he's not pulling any more than 5% of his sales as profit. Therefore, the numbers look flashy but all that glitters is not gold.
