  • It's amazing what the Retroid Pocket 2s and the Anbernic 35xx h are capable of playing! I would place both of them in the top spot in terms of best retro gaming handheld (especially when factoring in price). There are a few differences in design and functionality that I go over in the video to help you decide which handheld will give you the most value!

    Imagine taking Retroid Pocket 2S or even Miyoo Mini loaded with thousands of games, go back in time to something like 2000 and give it to a younger version of yourself.

      Exactly! The variety of consoles and games all contained on 1 pocketable device is still mind-blowing to me!

    I have both, the RP2S is unbeatable!
    The value to performance you get on this device is insane. There is no current competition for it. I always recommend to save and get and RP2S.

      if you add batocera on top the RG35XX H it becomes close.

      @@SansINess53 not even close to the performance. I can play every N64 snd Dreamcast Game at 2x resolution. I can play Gamecube, 3DS and some PS2. Batocera adds a nice interface but not much performance Boost. I like both consoles but the 2s is on another level for $99

    I love my rg35xx h! Not sure what you mean by having to switch cards for different game platforms though. If I'm not mistaken, the first card is for the OS and BIOS, while the second larger card is just your ROMs. That's how it was organised out of the box.

    • @RetroVGs
      @RetroVGs  27 днів тому +2

      You can stack all the OS, BIOS, and games onto 1 SD if it's big enough (limit games), but PSP games are bigger so I wanted to have them on their own SD slot. Issue is you can't access slot B's game library after loading into slot A. It's still functional, just requires backing out and restarting into the card that you know you want to play instead of seeing full game library/consoles from both cards.

      I have everything on one card and use the left slot. Works fine.

    UA-cam knew exactly what they were doing when they put this video on my home page. I’ve been doing hella research on handhelds for a while now, most recently with Anbernic and Retroid. I’ve been wanting a pocketable device with a solid power to price ration to play in quick sessions at work, or when I don’t want to bring my Steam Deck everywhere I go, so the 35XXH and the RP2S were my top contenders because I really wanted to avoid dropping more than $100 if possible. So with the recent Aliexpress sales, the 35XXH was like $45 with tax and shipping so I thought it would be a no brainer. Unfortunately, it arrived with a screen defect, but aside from that, I really liked the form factor. So I’m sending it back and decided to pay a little more for quality, as well as gain more power at the slight sacrifice of pocketability with the L2/R2 trigger and thumb sticks that extend a bit on the RP2S. From what I can tell it’s not too bad though. Anyway, I’m waiting on it to come in and I extremely excited, especially now that I can see how closely related they are in size.
    Great video man! Glad I found your channel, you gained a sub. I look forward to more in the future.

      Appreciate it man! I really like both devices as well, but for what I do the RP2s has a slight edge.

    Why are you switching SD cards? I installed batocera as the firmware on the xxH. All my games are there. Maybe I’m missing something you said but there’s no reason to switch back and forth from the stock to batocera. I keep the stock sd card but I don’t use it unless I was to see if there’s an update but I always go back to batocera.

      I only have to switch SD slots with stock OS, because once slot A is loaded it can't view library or play games from slot B without backing out and loading slot B. I have 2 anbernic devices, one with stock, one with batacera. Hope that clears the confusion!

    Could you play space channel 5 on dreamcast or rhythm heaven on gba on both devices to compare input latency between the two?
    I have an odin2 and space channel 5 is pretty tough on it because of the latency...
    Thanks

    How do the DS Pokemon games look on the Anbernic device?

    • @similaritiesendhere
      @similaritiesendhere 28 днів тому +2

      If that's what you want, buy a used 2DS (best deal) and put your DS roms on an R4 micro SD adapter.
      These emulation devices are way more powerful than a DS but do not have a second screen, touch capabilities, QR code scanning, or the ability to connect to other devices (Pokémon trading).
