I can recommend the Trimui Smart Pro for around $50 on AE. Super comfy with a huge 1280x720 screen, and an actual working sleep mode for pick up and go play. Usually you'd have to pay well above $100 for these features. This replaced my RGB30, X55 and the RG35XX-H.
This might be a city thing but vertical handhelds are very good for crowded public transit where you're shoulder to shoulder with other people. This has made the Rg35xx plus my most used pocket handheld even though I consider the H a superior model
Agreed. Being a dreamcast fan myself and obviously not being able to play Dreamcast on it - Miyoo Mini Plus is the best chinese handheld of all time. Quiet buttons, exceptional cfw, fantastic screen and native pico 8 - I wish we had something like that with more power. Second best handheld for me is rg353p, which actually lets me play some dreamcast. And at the third place would be retroid pocket 4 pro, which I don't have. But I have rp3+
If you want a cheaper solution to the buttons just get a telescopic controller for your phone, some connect via the charging port to avoid lag. Your phone is probably able to play PSP, DS (best option for the touch controls), PS1, Dreamcast, N64 and previous generation consoles without issue. The better your phone is the more you can emulate like 3DS, Vita, PS2, GameCube, Wii and even Switch. The downsides are interrupting your play session if you need to use your phone for something else and being stuck to a horizontal form factor depending on the control and the phone. But if you have the extra cash and want a dedicated retro handheld, this video is a great guide.
In the past i would play alot on a modded PSP, so if you enjoy the PSP or Vita, then the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro is the clear way to go. Also i know some people out there thinking, "eh i dont plan to do PS2 games, i just plan to do some GBA", youll say that until you get the device in your hands and you start to find out what kind of games youre missing out on.
Miyoo Mini Plus also has an RTC chip in it (the latest versions since January 2024), which is a nice plus for games that take advantage of it, like Harvest Moon and Pokemon Emerald and up.
I just ordered the RG35XX Sp so I get to see what that's like (any day now is now in the US) - I have pretty much all the handhelds you mentioned +plus way more -- I fix stuff-mod ---I do like the MiYoo mini plus - I'm also the vertical type as well & clamshells v90 is good in a pinch - good video
my favorite emulation device by far is the steam deck. The ONLY down side is it is way bulkier than almost all other options. But on a single device you can emulate all games even up to ps3, Then go play your steam pc games, then load windows and play your non steam os games, then load linux and do some coding because why not.... For 400$ you cant go wrong.
I personally like the odin, it plays ps2, Wii and below upscaled, I know some can’t afford it, or want something cheaper but it’s just my cup of tea.☕️
If I can’t easily take a handheld around, I usually don’t play it, the the best emulation device is my phone even if the controls suck. Then, the mm+. Anything bigger, I’m not incentivized to carry it. Any smaller, the controls are bad.
I know it`s not really a big deal, but please stop calling these emulators. They are emulator HANDHELDS. An emulator is the software these machines run to play your favorite games. Great video otherwise that tiny bit. :P
my rp4 pro is great and think it is a must for anything below the odin 2 if you have an odin 2 dont bother but if you dont wanna spend another 100 over the rp4 dont get the rp4 pro
I would call it "older modern console". Doesn't make it bad though. Actually it's a compliment to a 22 yo console imo. It was THAT good. Even though it contributed to a death of my favourite console - Sega Dreamcast.
I dont think so.. The sound is horrible on it and the device is just too small for average hands. Onion OS is great if you put it on there. but This handheld gets a 5 out of 10 for me..
Your videos are so well made! Hope the algorythm chooses you, you deserve it!
Oo dude thank you so much! Thanks for being part of this

DUDE no way that only costs 50 bucks!! I'm totally looking into that. Thanks for the recommendation.
@thatssovert it seems to be up to 60 now, but I got mine for 44 last month. Just wait for a sale to get the best price. Hope you can find a good deal!
Purchased the RG35XX H was on sale for $35 USD shipped

Never thought about that. Cool point!
I’m happy you mentioned the Miyoo Mini Plus first! It’s my absolute baby
This is recommended to me on the front page, i think the Algo is on your side, keep it up 🎉
Dude this is so awesome... Thanks for clicking on mine!!!!

The Odin 2 obliterates the competition easy
A pc costing as much as the Odin 2 obliterates it easy
@@thatssovertwhich pc can I buy at this price point? I love my Odin2 but would also like to get into entry lv pc gaming for retro games!
Ótimo vídeo cara, muito bem editado! espero que chegue na home de outras pessoas como chegou na minha🙏
Thank you so much for commenting! Editing took a while but I'm getting the hang of it. Cheers!

What kind of gloves are those, and why do you use them?
Also you suggest installing an additional OS, what do you recommend?
Amazing channel, miyoo m+ fan here too! Whats the game at 11:42?
Where are you from? Are you Brazilian? I like your slight accent
Great video brother! Valeu! Sucesso!

Would love to see you do a video on the R33S, which is a clone of the Miyoo Mini Plus and essentially an R36S without joysticks.
Same.
Thank you for commenting! Good suggestion!!
UA-cam seems to be getting better at recommending me good channels.
Oo dude thank you so much for commenting!
I think Im buying soon : Trimui Smart Pro
Great Video!
Yooo thanks!!
@@thatssovert Np! Your videos are extremely well made (also nice Strat🎸)
What would you say is the best priced one for n64 games I'm wanting to play banjo-tooie on it?
I personally like the odin, it plays ps2, Wii and below upscaled, I know some can’t afford it, or want something cheaper but it’s just my cup of tea.☕️
Personally the thanos handheld is my favorite
SpongeBob better
Got me with the fakeout lol
Rgb30 Or rg35xx h plz tell
Rg35xx sp?
I think we should atleast give it a 3 months before saying anything. From what i can see its very promising
It’s the RG35XX H for me, and if I were to spend more then the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro
At 6:24 of the video, which game is this on the screen??

I have the miyoo mini plus and the rg35xxh. I find the rg to be the better machine in all ways
Some people claim Onion OS is better than Garlic OS. What's your perspective on that?
I’d like to know as aell
the miyoo glazing is real otherwise amazing vid

Thanks for the heads up!
I thought emulators were the software
They are. This is an emulator HANDHELD. This mistake irks me a bit.

whats a emulator like the retriod pocket 4 with preloaded games if budget isnt an option??
Those gloves. Was he gaming while waiting to rob a bank?
What is this game? @11:39
what game is in 11:52
Lunar Knights, for the DS!
PS2 is not retro. Oh right, goodbye 🙂
I would call it "older modern console". Doesn't make it bad though. Actually it's a compliment to a 22 yo console imo. It was THAT good. Even though it contributed to a death of my favourite console - Sega Dreamcast.
It's older than NES was when PS2 was released. To me anything pre-HDMI is retro. Hell, 7th Gen is getting old at this point
Bruh, you stuck in 2012? PS2 is 100% retro at this point.
24 years old... It's about as retro to young adults as Atari was for me
This guy thinks we care he’s leaving 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wanna buy a new one I have a random red and blue one I put SNES games on
I dont think so.. The sound is horrible on it and the device is just too small for average hands. Onion OS is great if you put it on there. but This handheld gets a 5 out of 10 for me..
Sounds like a paid sponsored video from miyomini :) Anbernic way better and way cheaper guys trust me
The best is rg nano😂
ANBERNIC RG353V
Those gloves are out of control
First
EH? GBA was horizontal and was the first best version of that console line. So horizontal for me is way more preferable.
