The amount of woodwork is a full time job in itself. But it will be well worth it. That freezer compressor install was like a genie in a bottle. Great that Janetc s back to her chirpy self.
Ah Rosco, now it makes sense! Doubt you remember me, but I’m Don from Lady Dew build. When I was building Lady Dew, I always tried to keep in mind what the late great George Buehler said; While those spending the time getting yacht finishes the rest of us are on the water with work boat finishes years earlier. But then I saw you making sure all the screw heads were aligned! LOL you have no choice but to do a Yacht finish! You will have a beautiful boat, one day I would love to see you out here. ;)
Q. Ross, what did you do over Covid? A. I built a boat. Q. Tim, what did you do over Covid? A. I sat on my couch and watched a bloke (and his wife!) build a boat. Thanks for your company.🇦🇺👍👍
Ross my man, don’t ever tell someone (let alone the world at large) you have OCD with screw heads directions. 😂 if I knew you personally and knew I could yank your chain that easy, I would come visit and help myself to a frustrated Ross. That’s because I like messing with people; and yes, I fully expect it back in return. 😂 Glad to see Janet’s attention to detail is saving your backside from having to deal with all of those fiddly details. You are both doing great! As well as everyone that’s help3d along the way.
It must be so rewarding to see the dramatic transformation installing the wood inthe boat! Janets work finishing the wood will be the first thing people notice when visiting your boat. The hardwork of the fiberhglassing will be just the background.😊
I've always been impressed by the hard and very neat work when you do fiberglassing, the meticulous prep and sanding with all that god damn dust in sweat and humidity with breathing equipment. After several years you still surprise me with them screws and have dived off into an even deeper end than before. I don't know how you did it but you outdid yourself again to a whole other level with that one. Not something I would ever do but brilliant none the less!
The list of modifications you have had to do and still to do on all aspects of the boat are amazing. Fit the compressor for the freezer, not so straight forward = cut base from side mount and check fit. I like the way you are constantly thinking ahead. It shows a high standard of workmanship. Good old dependable Janet in the background work lady extraordinaire. Great channel guys.
Its amazing to me that almost every boat job is a pita. I'm glad it's not just my boat projects, lol. Your quality of work is excellent and I enjoy watching. Thanks.
Hi Ross. I wouldn't bother with a drain in the freezer. Get some Slurpex sponges to clean it out when required. I Have had some for 40 years used daily a must if you have a boat or caravan.
Lol..... i bet you never figured Janet would get so much support! A life long companion is not something most see these days and God blesses the ones who are. Consider yourself blessed and remember*************** we are watching 🌞🌞🌠🌌🌈 the freezer is immense
Hi Roscoe (and Janet), you make a good excellent team and are doing amazing quality work. But I was just buttering you up - I think you may well come to regret shoehorning the compressor into the small void bell the freezer box. As I said in a previous vid, nothing kills a fridge quicker than poor airflow over the condenser. It is fine introducing cooler air in at the bottom but as that air gets warm (across the condenser) and increases in volume it needs to escape from the void or you effectively stall the flow across the condenser. Do you not have any other practical alternative location that will help airflow and make access easier? Keep up the great work.😀👍⛵️
A freezer drain is good for when you have to defrost the unit. Just install one with a plug or valve on the end of the drain hose, then you can open the bilge and put a bucket under the hose...
Fantastic guys, it's really coming along now. Rossco, is there anything that you have actually installed that didn't require you to make alterations? You always find a way, well done🤣🤣
The beginning of this episode was like the UFC305 fight between Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya. Unfortunately you Ros was Israel. Love the show to start with a light side and build up😂 Great job!!
Do a drain from the freezer overboard, but then put a little plug to prevent condensation. You’ll appreciate it when you’ve got to clean or defrost the thing.
Ah. Trying to do structural work while you’re doing finish work. I understand the pains of that. Hard to change mentality of making a brutal mess to now having to be delicate not to destroy your finishes. Getting close!
Eric,I do believe they are available but not easily sourced in 316g.I always made Canadian Sea Kayaks with them supplied from Canada and I love them, I even aligned them as well.Ross
Janet does help, so may be 10% credit 😂. Sorry Jannet only pooling your leg. You work hard, just need to get Ross to work harder and finish that dam cat 😊
@@LifeOnTheHulls thanks been here from the start … just could not remember … now I’ll just worry about the overheads,,, lol Not really but it’s Ben an amazing year for you ..👍🏻
Ross, I dont draw on the product, but rather put wide rolled masking tape down and draw my cuts on it. that way you dont have to refinish finished surfaces. Just saying.
Looks like Janet has it all under control, boy that's some work you's have gave yourselves and it's looking like 3 winners in a row, row row that Boat...awsum guy's, I'd be picky about those screw heads as well...must be ruff with all that OCD hanging out with you, I think it needs another vacation...the OCD or the both of you all at the same time !!

Safety first Guy.haha
Watching life on the hulls drinking my tea out a Life on the Hulls mug that Ross never seems to mention. He does have merchandise.

Love the screw orientation and your honesty 😄
Too funny.Quite tragic really
Janet's full time job is putting up with you. Grate work both of you
Haha, very true Danny.

Very nice work Ross, as always.
I am glad that i am not the only one who want the screws to line up 😉
Take care.
All the best.
I am so happy that you have the screw alignment ocd too it is very comforting mate.Ross
I’m with you on the screw direction obsession…😂🇨🇦
Put magnets on the refrigerator door instead of hinges. Will give you a little more access.
Loving the screw orientation
19:00 Amen brother! And then my other half comes along a few minutes later and tweaks a couple of them to really throw off my OCD😂

That turned out much better than I imagined. Looks good
Orientating screws is not OCD, it's good practice.
Thanks mate, I am validated, appreciate it.

Very nice Ross and Janet the attention to detail is outstanding congratulations x
End of the tunnel is getting closer. 💯 looks most excellent.
That frizzer is huge , luxury or what. Janet will be happy
I thought that at first glance but you've got 4 double beds and I don't know if two more can sleep on the dinette chair & table?
It would be a passage bed primarily but certainly could sleep 2 at a pinch.
@@LifeOnTheHulls no I was talking a bought the deep fridge-freezer. But yes those beds are massive.
@@latitudeash 10 people on board will soon empty it I'm sure.

Hello from Siesta Key Florida
The beginning of this episode was like the UFC305 fight between Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya. Unfortunately you Ros was Israel. Love the show to start with a light side and build up😂 Great job!!
I am still carrying the bruises from the beat down.
I knew when you said that statement Ross you had thrown yourself into the dog house, for at least a week. LOL
I am always in the dog house Fon, getting quite used to it now.
Do a drain from the freezer overboard, but then put a little plug to prevent condensation. You’ll appreciate it when you’ve got to clean or defrost the thing.
or drain to a sump box
Looking brilliant
Thanks Mike.
All that wood.. unsinkable cat 🙂👍👍
I am the same way. Have to clock the screws all the same
I thought I was alone.Welcome my brother in Ocd Phillips Heads.
over here, we have the Robinson head screws much better than the Philips Aye lol
Did you consider mounting the compressor in an adjacent cupboard?
I did consider it I was worried bout noise in the cabins.
I feel as a thanks for all Zack’s hard work you should allow him to have one screw in the boat that doesn’t align.
Ah. Trying to do structural work while you’re doing finish work. I understand the pains of that. Hard to change mentality of making a brutal mess to now having to be delicate not to destroy your finishes. Getting close!
So true, I was a wrecking ball for so long.
I always thought that Robertson screws were available in Australia am I wrong

Did you paint all the insides of your wardrobes and cabinets ?
Hey Dave. All robes are now flow coated completely, dust free and looking so nice there is not a green panel anywhere these days Cheers buddy.Rossco

might have been easier to put the compressor in the bottom of the wardrobe/closet
I did consider that but worried it may create a noise for sleeping in the cabin.Ross
You know better than to poke upper management, Ross.
It is a fine edge sword I walk.

I say that the work is endless building a boat,.... 😬
throwing a spanner in the works to annoy you rosco. the vent is upside down
Amazing pick up, the door was put in upside down in the video. What a good eye you have.
See rosco you don't have problems you have solution's
Exactly Lindsay, It just takes a while to discover them.Ross
No one will notice the screw head orientation Ross 😊
Yes, but I will Ash.
Your ocd is bad 😂
Too many holes being cut into that beautifully layed fibreglass. That bent could be converted into a door its that big
Janet gets all the easy jobs 😂. Hid this comment from her she will not be happy 😅

@@LifeOnTheHulls she is a scary lady when she is mad. 😝
The word “orientated” triggers my OCD.

I can't putty the 45s ad they're full of epoxy with saw dust in them.
That top is lovely but needs must, cut away 🫣
