She has gotten be one of, if not, the most under rated female vocalists of all time. Her range, her tone, the way you actually feel the music through her voice, amazing!

Real talent does not need a studio redo . Look at all of the other GREAT ACTS that fill wherever they play and let it go out. It would rob the concert goers of the genuine experience if a "live" track or album was released without something missing that they noticed at the concert where it was recorded. Oh, Arthur, this is to the naysayers, I'm supporting you, Butt!

Even though I like this song, you couldn't call her voice angelic, more like a Siren, it is beautiful though. This song is about Satan, despite what they tell us it's about, listen to the words. If you don't believe in Satan, the rulers certainly do, they put a statue at the sea entrance to New York and have a big one in Nashville. She-he-it comes under many names, the most common is Inana, Ishtar, Isis, Nyx, Athena, Durga, Freya, Columbia, the one in Nashville is called Athena. She does have a male aspect, with a heap more names, like Attis, Tammuz, Osiris, there is a lot more names.
It is much more complex than that though.
It is why we see a lot of women superheroes now.
      I got carried away, sorry.

The connection with all those thousands of people, the moment she starts playing the song's hymn.... Just epic!
Very few artists have the skill and charisma to do this. Amy Lee is surely one of those select few! Tremendously good voice, chilling to the bone even, and skilled on classical instruments like the Piano to make such a rough rocksong sound so exquisitely good!
Exceptional! This song will be enjoyed through the ages!

Isaiah 65:12 Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.

How can you see into my eyes, like open doors
Leading you down into my core
    Where I've become so numb
    Without a soul
    My spirit's sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there and lead it back home
Wake me up inside (save me)
Call my name and save me from the dark (wake me up)
Bid my blood to run (I can't wake up)
Before I come undone (save me)
Save me from the nothing I've become

    You can't just leave me
Breathe into me and make me real

    I've been living a lie
    There's nothing inside
    Bring me to life
    Frozen inside without your touch
    Without your love, darling
Only you are the life among the dead
    All this time, I can't believe I couldn't see
Kept in the dark, but you were there in front of me
I've been sleeping a thousand years it seems
I've got to open my eyes to everything
Without a thought, without a voice, without a soul
    Don't let me die here
There must be something wrong, bring me to life
Wake me up inside (save me)
Call my name and save me from the dark (wake me up)
Bid my blood to run (I can't wake up)

Sadly it’s not that way anymore. A few months before rona hit I went to a punk concert for old times sake.( I’m 29) no moshing no jumping nothing but phone screens. I asked a late teens early 20s dude what he thought of the concert. He said it was pretty rad. I asked him how do you know? You never saw a second of it. He asked what do you mean? I said you saw the whole thing through your phone screen. You were physically there but were you actually there? It might as well been on tv and you at home watching. He was perplexed. I explained to him this generation of kids don’t know how to just live in moment. Not everything needs to be captured on video. Let the memories be archived in your mind. Your losing the experience of being there. Put your phones away kids and just live Will ya?

One of my favorite songs of all time! Loved it from the moment I heard it back when it was just released. 33 and still feel the same today! Check out My Immortal, sadder and more quite but also an epic song by them. Best version is with the electric guitar at the end.
Hope you enjoy if you follow it up, cheers!

Cool story. Mine is different although we ended up in the same place.
When this came out I was a major metalhead (I play melodic death metal guitar..do vocals and write songs) and this wasnt heavy enough for me and I didnt appreciate it
Now...I have a new appreciation for it.

I love when singers sound exactly the same live as when they are being recorded in the studio.
Also when I hear them live I don´t want them to try hard and mix it up I want to hear the exact same song I heard them record in the studio and this is just perfect.

You should just listen to studio recordings then. Sorted.
Some musicians have live recordings that are (to some listeners) as good or better than the studio mastered versions (Ani DiFranco). The versions can be different but just as good (for some of us).

How can you see into my eyes like open doors?
Leading you down, into my core
Where I've become so numb, without a soul
    My spirit's sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there, and lead it, back, home
    Wake me up inside
    Wake me up inside
Call my name and save me from the dark
    Bid my blood to run
    Before I come undone
Save me from the nothing I've become
Now that I know what I'm without
    You can't just leave me
Breathe into me and make me real
    Bring me to life
    Wake me up inside
    Wake me up inside
Call my name and save me from the dark
    Bid my blood to run
    Before I come undone
Save me from the nothing I've become
    Bring me to life
    Bring me to life
    Frozen inside, without your touch
    Without your love, darling
    Only you are my life
    Among the dead
I've been sleeping a thousand years it seems
Got to open my eyes to everything
    Don't let me die here
    Bring, me, to, life
    Wake me up inside
    Wake me up inside
Call my name and save me from the dark
    Bid my blood to run
    Before I come undone
Save me from the nothing I've become
    Bring me to life
    Bring me to life
    Bring me to life
