Man, that last performance... you can tell he was clearly not doing well. Not sure if Chester was ever doing "well", I'm sure he has had his happy moments. But the part where he was just standing there (7:28)... that image might forever be burned into my mind.

Damn, I don't know if I was the only one but in the part where he sings "I'll never be allright" plus the gesture he makes in 6:14, I feel like he's resigned that he would never be allright, how your loss hurts to this day Chester💔

    • @vosamul
      @vosamul Рік тому +4

the last performance isn't really emotional. The first ones are because of how it relates to Chester. I think he said it in an interview once, that when he recorded the song he'd just occasionally go to the other room and break down. Overtime the song lost its meaning to him, that's why he doesn't look like he's gonna cry on the last performance.

    • @eliteiel9747
      @eliteiel9747 6 місяців тому +6

@@vosamul The second one is more emotional. In the first one you could see he was crying, he was fighting. That last performance at the same concerts in songs like One More Light where there is videos from the crowd up close and personal you could see that he had given up. You can hear that he was putting a focus on when he said " ill NEVER be alright" , and by Breaking The Habit he didnt mean it like in the first performance, where he was singing about breaking a habit of drinking or smoking or taking drugs, in the last performance he meant Breaking The Habit of being alive...

Or why I have to scream
But now I have some clarity
To show you what I mean
I don't know how I got this way
    I'll never be alright
    So, I'm breaking the habit
    I'm breaking the habit
    I'm breaking the habit tonight

    Memories consume
    Like opening the wound
    I'm picking me apart again
    You all assume
I'm safe here in my room
Unless I try to start again
I don't want to be the one
    The battles always choose
    'Cause inside I realize
    That I'm the one confused
    I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
    I don't know why I instigate
And say what I don't mean
I don't know how I got this way
    I know it's not alright
    So, I'm breaking the habit
    I'm breaking the habit tonight
    Clutching my cure
    I tightly lock the door
I try to catch my breath again
    I hurt much more
    Than anytime before
I had no options left again
I don't want to be the one
    The battles always choose
    'Cause inside, I realize
    That I'm the one confused
    I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
    I don't know why I instigate
And say what I don't mean
I don't know how I got this way
    I'll never be alright
    So, I'm breaking the habit
    I'm breaking the habit tonight
I'll paint it on the walls
'Cause I'm the one at fault
    I'll never fight again
And this is how it ends
    I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
But now I have some clarity
To show you what I mean
I don't know how I got this way
    I'll never be alright
    So, I'm breaking the habit
    I'm breaking the habit
    I'm breaking the habit tonight
