    • @znuffyztruggles5744
      @znuffyztruggles5744 2 роки тому +35

      @@Player_0i well, in the chorus it's feels to me that it's Chesters special "how the fuck do you add distortion so high up and belt" kind of singing, most likely it's a combination of screaming and him being a tenor, but the screams in the bridge are screaming tehniques, such as growl and mostly false vocal chords, altough Chester always had a way to put so much power into them that it sounds really loud, which most techniques aren't.
      While I don't agree that you could call this "screaming" (altough chester was one of few who could actually scream and not hurt himself) I definetly agree that it is very hard.

      Check out some of the vocal coaches on UA-cam reacting to this performance. My understanding is that's a sign of very good technique for the scream. When you sing in that way, there's a right way to do it and a wrong way that will damage your vocal chords in the wrong way. One of the coaches said that hearing him sing so cleanly after the scream without any residual "fry" is indicative of very good technique with no damage to his chords. It's cool to see how all these vocal coaches are impressed by Chester. He was something else

Every movement he did on the stage had purpose (one foot up, one foot down, leaning at the waist, etc.) it was done to raise his hips and expand his lungs. Relaxation and breath control while applying distortion/vocal fry gave him sustain. He was a master/pioneer of his craft.

    It's so crazy how he could hold a scream for so long!!! I had a band years ago, and there's no way I could hold a scream for as long as he did. He is greatly missed by many. The music he produced was simply amazing and the music community has suffered a huge loss with his passing.
