Birks BD7 2NX

Birks is the third film in the performance work BECK which follows the route of Bradford Beck from the outskirts of Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK through the city centre where it was diverted underground in the 1800s. The series of films takes the viewer to the point where the beck (a small stream) emerges from a culvert before moving onwards and out into the River Aire in Shipley.
Birks is filmed from a supermarket carpark looking over to Girlington. The beck is hidden in a steep valley surrounded by trees and wildlife right in the heart of the city.
