I’m with you, creek areas are the best. Great food as usual. I used to use a top cover or a sock but for me it just causes more condensation and when it’s cold it snows inside my hammock. lol. I just rely on the bug net now or even net-less. It the net does refuse that breeze across my face. I just bought a new tarp from HG with the line locks. Easiest method in my opinion. I started with them years ago but switched it out over the years. I noticed you have aluminum foil over your grill. That is a great idea. Seems it would make for an easy clean up. Great trip Jason! 👍
I think from now on in the wintertime I’m going to take my top cover off and bug net. Keep my bug net on for the rest of the seasons. I absolutely love line locks. They’re so easy to use and fast. We found that grill at the campsite. I had some extra aluminum foil to put on it. Definitely easy clean up. Have a great day my friend
Line locks are great. I use the line locks hooks for the guy out lines and it makes things so much easier. It's convenient the linelock 3's were built in the HG Quest tarp when I got it with the bundle.
Bushwhacking in style! Creek side camping! Oh yeah! What a spot! Nice frosty morning. Probably would have been better off with a tarp over that hammock system...gotta love it when the crafty bushcrafters leave their silly contraptions around. Those line locks are sweet. Such a nice area. Steak n taters!!! Boom! Looked like a good time in the woods! Great video buddy

Awesome trip. Bushwhacking, freezing your butt off, creeks, lakes, and great campfire food. Well done. We are still snowed in but I can't wait to get out backpacking again. Cruises, road trips, and ice fishing in the meantime. Looks like you had a good meetup too. Awesome. Have a great day.
I’ve never been on a cruise. Dot keeps wanting me to go on one. Is it worth it? You look like you was having fun. I go to cave run a lot in the wintertime. Lots of firewood and nobody’s ever around
@@BackpackingWithJason Cruising is my favorite way to explore abroad. You get a good sampling of each destination plus some relaxing down time on the ship between stops. They are one of the most affordable vacations out there. We have been on 15 so far and are already booked for more. You should really try it. I would recommend Carnival's Western Caribbean out of Galveston with ports in Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize, and Roatan. Our favorite itinerary. 2nd favorite being the one we just went on out of Miami.
Another great video sir! I love that you do real camping videos, I get tired of other channels that only do gear chats and 5 dos or don'ts videos. You do it just like we do, good food, time out side, etc! Much respect
Thank you. This is exactly the way I want my channel to be. If I’m doing a gear review I what to do it on trail. Not in my living room. I really appreciate your comment and have a great weekend.
Bushwacking to the great campsites is always an adventure itself. Beautiful lake, great looking grub. No sound of the Doors by the lake... 😅😂🤣 Good times, enjoyed watching. Thank you for sharing. Take care Jason. 🇺🇲
As pretty as it was in your last video, the weather looks a whole lot better on this adventure. Who needs a trail …. Bushwhacking will get you where you need to go. Love being around moving water too. Eating good in the wood. Great trip Jason
Bushwhacking down the hill was definitely the way to go. It was fun and a lot faster to the creek area. We was eating really good on this trip 😁. Have a great day my friend
It’s almost time for some kayaking. You should really check out the Cumberland River. Big South Fork section. 20 mile section with great rapids and a lot of good campsites 😁. Start in Tennessee and end in Kentucky
Of course you are taking a shortcut. HAHAHA! Follow the creeks indeed! Beautiful area and the sunshine is ALWAYS welcome. Thanks for a fun time outdoors, Jason! Kay
Man you get out. Great diversity of variables, stream, lake and cave. The sunrise and beams through the trees, good show again from you with that. So simple, beautiful and peaceful

Rough trail there day 1 but the payoff was sure worth it! Great looking meal too. Sound of that lake sure is peaceful and probably my favorite to go to sleep to. Thanks for sharing!
Man oh man, what a beautiful campsite! That's a cold morning. 🥶 You had a heck of a time getting there. Eeeeewww, drinking lake water. I had to do that at Land Between the Lakes. It was warm. 🤢 Somehow our group survived. Excellent video! 👊
Beautiful fire near the creek. Looks like you boys had a great time. Also, did you ever think about getting an under-quilt cover? It might keep it dryer and warmer. Love your videos Jason. You always keep it real. Love that!
I do have an under quilt protector but I didn’t bring it. I should have because that first night was wet and cold. Thank you for the kind words and have a fun weekend
Great advice on following the creeks. Water is a good way to find spots. I think the branch attached to the tree was a pack hanger. For the cold you go you might want to think of at least getting an underquilt protector is does a great job at keeping the drafts out. I have a winter sock and enjoy that but it does block the view. The protector only covers the underquilt so I get nice views from the hammock while having better warmth.
I have an under quilt protector but I forgot to bring it. I think I need to get them professionally cleaned and see if my down will fluff back up. Have a great day my friend
@@BackpackingWithJason yeah man you gotta get the loft back. I've been thinking of cleaning my set of 30's but a little intimidated by washing down. Kriz said it wasn't that bad when he washed his.

Under quilts can be tricky sometimes. My hammock has two openings just for the under quilt problems. I’ve been going to that lake for years. Still love it every time. I hope you had a great birthday.
Fun looking trip. I’ve found that camping near a creek really gets the job done if I need a good nights sleep. The babbling sound of the water knocks me out. I might have to deal with a little condensation, but sometimes it’s worth it.
I live on Cave Run and it is gorgeous. Watch out for beers - people say they say a bear about two years ago. Probably still around. Never seen sail boat on it but I trust you they are there.
