@@WreckItRolfe It's difficult and takes a lot of time to do well. I tried a little amateur writing a while ago and the sheer effort to try and write a truly intelligent character put me off.

@@Maghanashi this is a multi million dollar tv series though and they have proven to have good writing in the past yet have become worse in the recent years
Honestly, this guy is the first person I've ever heard saying that Arya isn't a broken, OP for no logical reason, wasted character who had no business killing the Night King. Her story had so much promise and then took a massive shit when she was training with the Faceless Men.
@FORREST GUMP I unfortunately don't have the interview, to my knowledge, HBO did a good job at covering up loose ends. I did see a video that mentioned the interview. The video is two hours: ua-cam.com/video/Gw5JyOtxovo/v-deo.html
However the lead actors don't have the balls to tell dumb and dumber that danys mad arc need one more season to work....if they did then we wouldnt had to witness Danny's barbeque session so soon.
@@vinnu2337 Yeah. The more veteran actors like Stepehn Dillane said that his character did random shit and he never understood why his character did whatever he did while other actors like Kit did nothing.
If he'd only said SOMETHING as he was preparing to kill Bran. Even something like (Tim Curry voice): I know an old lady who swallowed a fly. I don't know why she swallowed the fly. (Reaches for his sword) Perhaps she'll die.
This is what made the logic behind it all so bad. Why show us Arya struggling with stealthing past a few almost idle wights in the library, just to have us believe she managed to stealth by thousands of wights in a completely flooded Winterfall, past a circle of not only wights but also white walkers surround the night king later in the same episode? I thought they wanted to show us that Arya is only human, she never finished her training in Bravos, but that was clearly not the case judging by what they want me to believe she was capable of pulling of later in the episode.
If you look at the area around the tree, its even worse. Arya would have had to phase through a crowd of Wights and White Walkers, then sprint at the Night King, who was pretty far away from his troops. Yet she somehow made that big jump, as if she was mounted on some kind of higher structure. Absolute ass.
At first zombies were fast and fierce attacking without hesitation. Later in the ep NK revives all the dead bodies and they are barely able to move while Jon Snow being surrounded.
@@Ae7herium Well it took over a day of shooting, a trampoline, three cranes, two locations, five different angles, and numerous clever cover-ups and a lot of CGI to improve upon a half finished scene to get it done... So, yeah, you are correct. I just keep asking myself: If it was THAT difficult to get a girl of that height to get anywhere near the Night King even if she somehow DID manage to get past that thick crowded fucking army behind him, wouldn't they realize five minutes in that this wasn't the way to go!??? Was their girlpower bullshit really that important!?
That was probably the only part that I really enjoyed this season. Pod singing, Tormund being crazy, Brianne getting knighted. After remembering his speech I feel like Tormund should have died. He should have dragged down a giant and not by one sword move like the Mormont girl, but by being mad crazy, climbing the giant and such, or maybe the ice dragon. Could have been cool. Better than that rather bland goodbye scene he got for an ending. And he wouldn't have seen Brianne go with Jaime which was just awkward. He's a madman and they thoroughly underutilized him in the battle.
dunning kruger effect. I mean fuck for most of the show they weren't even writing the show, the books outlined everything for them because its so damn detailed. until they went far ahead in catching up with the latest book and they are forced to make their own storyline to end the show, they are exposed for the hacks that they are. The writing for Season 8 so far is fucking retarded and stupid.
It honestly baffles me that GRRM didn't sit them down at some point and go "guys, you need to start making battles that makes sense, this isn't high fantasy, this is meant to feel real". If you go through every single battle that's been done in the show, none of them makes sense from any kind of medieval styled strategy standpoint (the warfare technology is an odd mix of early and late medieval styles, so the tactics of these areas should apply). Quite honestly these battles would be absolutely amazing if they went with a realistic style. Take the recent battle, the dead would literally die by the thousands before they even got close to the defenders if they'd played it right and just stayed on the walls with a double piked trench outside and constant trebuchet/archer fire from the castle itself paired with axes, pikes and the like on the walls to keep any undead from getting over. The same logic can be applied to something like the battle of the bastards where the moves of both sides were literally damning to the point that it's a wonder their soldiers didn't go "fuck both leaders, we're going home".
This is what happens when you "write" to drive the audience's reaction, thinking solely about the audience's "experience" and "journey" instead of writing an actual god damn story.
I get the feeling this season especially was made for those people in that bar which records reactions. Make so much noise and yell at "shocking moments" that the rest of the story is lost.
They changed Jeyne Westerling's character to a noble birth Talisa, had her write to her family about being Queen of the North. Got Killed and never followed up on it.
And when they did give Tyrion some lines it was nothing that Jorah had not already told her. Tyrion is a dandy administrator but a lousy general. He talks her into heading for Westeros without the one war veteran who knows Westeros, who knows the Dothraki language and knows their fighting skills better than she does.
@@batperson3532 There's a HUGE difference here: The red wedding was unexpected but logical, nothing fell forced, no one appeared out of nowhere to kill Robb. Here they are LITERALLY attacked by thousands of dead bodies with NOTHING to protect them and they survive, it's unexpected but very poorly written. it would have been clever if the conflict with the night king wasn't resolved through the battle that we all expected and everybody survived but this was clearly just plot armor and again bad writing.

@H J the entire point of the story is that the great game is meaningless, its petty shit between nobles, the white walkers have always been the main threat hence the book and series begin with the white walkers.
Here‘s the problem: The writers say something like „Jorah has always been by Days side, so it was powerful to let hin die by the side of her“ But that‘s not what game of thrones is about.
Farhana Azmi as it was for episode 1. Go back and watch. They say that the reason Jon didn’t realize only Targaryens ride dragons is because he is slow on the uptake. The problem is that Dany is sitting right beside him. That’s why I was convinced she knew who he was.

@@anomalyinc3239 That's exactly the problem. She was great as a bit character. She was absolutely kick ass and appropriate. But they couldn't leave it there. The Night King was a generic mute evil guy , Cercei has always been the more compelling story and deserves to kill more main characters from a dramatic entertainment standpoint. That is actually what I thought would happen. Cersei as well as tyrion, jamie and John die. Dragon queen destroys iron throne with drogon and final fight with night walkers but is forced to flee and leave westeros along with survivors on greyjoy ships with the night king enveloping the whole thing in darkness forever.
Don't lose faith. Bran is still the Night King, he will kill Jon and Dany after they kill Cersei, raise Rhaegal from the ocean, and ride him off into the darkness as the Longest Night begins. Show finished.
Exactly. What i infuriates me (i dont know why) is all these people that love the latest seasons and are giving it 5 stars and 10 out of 10 on review websites. Its literally just fan service now, on characters with so much plot armour even though theyre not part of any plots haha
It started to drop in season 4 as well to be honest. Why on earth did they decide to change the plot behind Dorne and Elleria Sand? No biggie in the larger scope of things, but she was the very first character where the show-runners started to completely derail from the books and it didn't make any sense. Having Obyern talking about people not hurting children in Dorne, they have much better morals about things and next season you have his lover (not wife, but as close as it gets) killing a child, not to mention killing every remaining person from the family of the man you loved so much??? Who greenlight this nonsense of a change? I don't love Dorne in the books either, but this was just a complete mess and The Sand Snakes was the worst part of any season.
My biggest problem with everything..... Why is Jon Snow alive? He was killed and brought back to life by the red woman for what reason exactly? He didnt kill the night king.... I find it very difficult to let this fact go..... I find it extremely difficult to believe that Jon Snow was reincarnated to sit on the iron throne.... Just a shallow trope
Terry Lee oh dear, I could tell you he’s alive to unite everyone against the white walkers but lets be honest: nothing has a reason to be on season 8. It’s like they erased every character’s past and motive and we could watch season 8 without watching any of the previous ones
I think D&D have been bored with the show for several years and just wanted it over with and they were too narcissistic to step aside and let someone who still cared continue the series.
I think the book readers whining, bitching and spoiling has a large part to play. Even with the first 4 seasons, they couldn't do anything right according to book readers and they're probably glad to see the back of the show. You think Stannis being the only major character to die off-screen was random? That was a big 'fuck you' to book readers imo.
@@johnbull1568 not true. I have read the books but i LOVED season 1 to 4. It was not the same as the books but i was fine with that because the acting and the characters were amazing. They turned this show which had HUGE potential into a gigantic mess with zero consistency or logic. It just sucks to see a show that you truly loved go to shit
Not only did they completely sacrifice all the dothraki. Before mellisandre showed up and lit their weapons, the weapons were completely useless against the undead without being on fire. They might as well have just lit all the dothraki and their horses on fire and catapulted them into the wights
The Dothraki charge was not a bad tactical move. It's literally the only way to use them in war. The slaughter of the Dothraki is the true leap in logic in that scene. It was done purely for dramatic effect. In the books they would have cut a deep wound in the Army of the Dead, especially with those burning arakhs. If you haters are gonna let every little nitpicky thing destroy your enjoyment of a show/movie (I'm also addressing TLJ haters here) why not hate on literally every single space-based sci fi movie/show ever made, except Firefly (but I'm sure there are other nitpicky reasons to hate on that show), for having sounds in space? For that matter, why does the charge at the end of Return of the King get a pass while the Dothraki charge makes The Long Night the worst GoT episode ever? Why is it that no one has an issue with Tolkien making Saruman the final villain in LotR, but D & D making Cersei/Euron the final villain (jury's still out on that one) supposedly ruins the whole show? Saruman wasn't even taken out in a climactic way. He was murdered by Wormtongue! And that was after the heroes defeated a main villain who never even showed himself!
@@Aewon84 First: The Rohirrim charge against Isengard only worked because Gandalf precisely timed the sun beams of the dawn to blind the Uruk Hai spearmen, allowing the riders to break through. Third: Just after rohirrim Charge they encounter the Mumakil. It's a back and forth - first evil has the initive and then the good forces have. Then the evil get it back and so on. The Dothraki charge didn't accomplish anyhting and was just in there to show 2 things: 1) cool lightning shots and 2) how OP the forces of the Night king are. Also, in the books Saruman being in the Shire was still some sort of epilogue, and there was a HUGE buildup to all the finale moments in Return of the King which was satisfying in itself. Writers "it'll be Arya that delivers the final blow not Jon". Minion "but what about the build up?". Writers "that's what the audience will be expecting, we will subvert their expectations". Minions "But that's dumb" Writers "then we will have her jump from out of nowhere and gut the fool". Minions "but he has done nothing for 8 years apart from take a long walk and pinch a dragon, then you kill him by having a someone jump out from nowhere a hundred meters from where she was previous in an area with one entry point and surrounded by the dead". Writers "exactly, subverting those expectations". Minion "you are idiots" Writers "thank you." I need an anti-climax pill.
When everyone was expectimg you to subvert their expectation you should do the opposite thats the most surprising thing. A duel between jon and nk that would be what everyone could like.
A duel would have been the dumbest thing in the world. The NK had hundreds of thousands of dead protecting him. He would not allow anyone who could actually successfully fight him within a hundred meters of him. And he didn't. They showed this quite well with the legions of dead to stop Jon Snow from dueling him - and the dragon as well. So given that there should be a 0.0% chance of anyone getting close enough to duel him in a stand up fight, the ONLY logical way anyone would have any chance of taking him out would be with super stealth - i.e. a faceless assassin. And that is Arya. She could have gotten into the grove before the main entourage and set herself up in a spot near Bran where she could jump down on the NK, expecting that the NK would walk right up to Bran, which he did. And even with her super steath, the NK still heard her coming and grabbed her, but he was still surprised enough that she got her trick in when both of his hands were occupied. Frankly, any other way of killing the NK would have been ridiculous. The ONLY way to get him that wouldn't be stupid cheese would be by a stealth assassination.
@@writersblock2909 no, no, no.... she couldn´t even "stealth" herself through a bunch of Wights and would have been a new recruit in the NK´s army, if Berric and Clegane didn´t save her little butt! Everyone forgets that about Jaime, but he really began doubting Cersei. In the show, no one ever tells him about Cersei's infidelity. He wasn't blindly loyal to her in the book. I hate what the show did to him.
Dumb writers can't write smart characters. That's why Varys and Tyrion can only talk about eunucs and that's why Little Finger spent last season doing little more tham staring at people from a corner. Their intelligence was due to George's own intelligence. These two are more into cringey stuff like bad poosey and such.

I think a "rogue 1" ending would be amazing where all the main characters, maybe even most of the humanity die in order to stop the night king, consequently those few that are left can grow in an ultimately safer place. Maybe a few survive in order to keep the peace better or maybe there's an ending that reveals there will ultimately be more night kings and that's it's a never ending circle in order to keep the balance between humans vs nature. idk, I feel like the former ending is more likely but even if they somehow bring him back that entire narrative execution of episode 3 was horrible, and if they don't bring it back it will ruin the main point of the entire show sooo....
"what they see is the end of the dothraki, essentially", he says...next episode we find out that half of them survived, even though i literally watched them all die last week!
I'd choose more seasons with lower budget and a more thought out story line over a 1 high-budgeted season that ruined the foundations of the show any day.

Except they were just saying that criticism can often be conflicting and that if audiences tell you to make two conflicting changes you're better off sticking to what you believe will make a good show.
id doesnt matter if thet paraphrased it or not, whenever anyone uses any argument other than stone cold facts to render any criticism as invalid he is wrong and trying to make himself seem as the one who is right no matter what other people think, therefore they are essentially saying "We dont wanna listen to and learn from criticism, so we dont"

But even in the Battle of Agincourt the archers which the English had primarily were placed BEHIND a defensive position so the infantry/cavalry on the French side could NOT get to them easily. That is just one of the not so smart decisions during the battle. Secondly you put your far numerically inferior force of Dothraki cavalry with weapons that CANNOT kill wights with ease [they do not have dragonglass weapons only normal curves blades made of iron/steel so melisandre was a deus ex machina in her own right to light up their useless weapons and make them actualyl do damage] and have them charge at a FAR numerically SUPERIOR force. Cavalry is usually placed on the flanks and even so, the Dothraki which are based on the Mongols would serve as far more useful to do hit and run tactics that they usually do [firing arrows on horseback and running away before the enemy gets to them] which in real life tired infantry. Clearly the dead don't tire but the Dothraki could have essentially drawn a large number of undead away while harassing their flanks and shooting them with dragonglass arrows. Thirdly for some odd reason the walls of Winterfell are not manned until the retreat commences which an order is shouted to man the walls. The walls should already be manned and this should not be a last minute call, the defenders should also have created fire at the bottom of the walls of Winterfell for obvious reasons and should have been dropping hot oil/other stuff as seen in Battle of Blackwater Bay for example on the wights. I mean these are not very intelligent or combat able wights, the denders should easily be preventing them from climbing over the wall. Ah well, I won't go into more detail but the truth of the matter is that I hardly doubt ANYONE is mad that Arya killed the NK it's just the matter it was done the set up and execution were just not good. Too many main characters survived for stupid reasons when they should have died [I.E Sam], if the NK was killed by Arya while also killing her the ENTIRE episodes faults could have been largely overlooked but oh well what's done is done!
it's amazing how easy and completely you can destroy a narrative. This was such a great and compelling story I've followed for years and in less than 90 minutes, these 2 idiots wiped it out. You say you're happy Tyrion and Sansa survived but to me, it doesn't really matter who survived. All this buildup and the multiple journeys bringing us to this point are rendered insignificant. what was the point of Daenerys and the dragons? Jon coming back to life? Bran being able to see shit? hell, why was there even a night's watch? Jon could have just walked off and ignore the undead entirely and the night king would have just spent eternity staring awkwardly at the wall. So after thousands of years, the night king crosses the wall, walls a few miles south just to get shanked by a little girl you gotta be kidding me!
This is what happens when you pass the book series and then reduce the number of episodes because you've spent millions on each episode for years and have to condense the wrap up of all the characters you've created in 6 fuckin episodes. Years of build up to end in some mundane basic bullshit.
They admitted that they basically do the opposite of what the fan theories suggest because they belive that it would have been "predictable" Martin himself said that it is wrong to change planned story because, if you leave subtle clues for the audience to find out, then it's good that they do. This kind of thinking is essentially what got us the Arya shanking the Night King. Sure, you get the "woah I can't believe its her" but fucking hell, did they forget all the little clues like the Misadras (can't spell her name, the red priestess) prophesy about Jon. You render huge portions of the storyline useless because you feel like the audience will be disappointed because they figured something out. Bad thinking
@@averinus7706 They left the clues for the audience that Arya is the one REALLY prepared (frome her early 'Dance/Fight' Trainings to slowly becoming 'No One' ) and destined (f.e. Bran gave her a dagger). She tricked Night King. Jon vs Night King fight - it would be like Aragorn vs Sauron fight. It would make no sense. Why? The ONLY way you can destroy Sth/Sb that Overpowers you so much it its to Trick this bloody Evil King
Perhaps the greatest writing failure of all time. When you consider when the source material was published. The brilliance of it all. Then the series going on for 8 seasons, the epic build up, the history, the prophesy, Winter is Coming, The Long Night, etc... It all ended up being thrown away in a pile of total horse shit. D & D absolutely disgraced ASOIAF. They should be ashamed of their writing. But I imagine they are probably so far up their own asses at this point they hardly realize or care.
This entire show is an unintentional promo for people to buy the books! All the pissed off fans who are disappointed will bi+ch and whine on the internet about the stupidity of the show (after season 4, though I personally hate Talisa and Robb's storyline with every fiber of my existence); then find comments that say: "But the books are better!" Then they'll buy the books. With my tinfoil securely placed on top of my head, I theorize that GRRM deliberately let Dumb & Dumber run the show, because he KNEW they were gonna fuc!< it up and wound up making people buy his books! Well played, GRRM. Well played.
Wow, maybe instead of bitching about D&D you should blame the fat man. That fat lazy fuck was supposed to have finished the books long before the show caught him.

@@Jdb63 Arya character isn't no where near the bottom of the barrel. Her character development went well. Just Tyrion is probably. I want season 4 Tyrion back tho for the last few episodes.
@The505Guys ehhh man tbh you sound like you just don't like the character. She's not awful at all. The only thing I don't like about ep3 is that Jon and the NK didn't get to fight. I would still have her kill the NK but with Jon help with a distraction or something, because theyve been building him up to face the NK for so many seasons but never truly got a chance to see it.
Did you know that the Emilia Clark had to argue that her character would pick up a sword and not just stand there while Jorah fought to protect her? I also read that Maisie Williams suggested to the writers that her character shouldn't be doing crazy acrobatics during that scene where she runs from the white walkers. Amazing that the actors kept the episode from being even worse.
Imagine if they had bought a couple masked men, jaqen H'ghar and his homies would have finished the job without the north losing any men. So fucking dumb.
It's a feminist show with cucks writing the episodes the women are brave and the hound is cowering behind a wall and if there was a alpha male left they died stupid show women ruling and the strongest fighters also, they need a game of real thrones this is corny this is my first season watching I'm glad I didn't see the rest of this crap y'all watch the last episodes of woman power.
A half-assed way to wrap things up , no respect for the lore and legacy. They don't respect the source material and have subverted all cannons. I.e they had no respect for Littlefinger's character, Arya is able to survive several fatal wounds to the gut, characters aren't facing consequences for bad decisions. Now this joke of an episode. GOT has is officially down the shitter. The NK was made a second rate villain.
They havent done justice to ANY characters....including Arya, who in the books is so much more than just an assassin. Maisie has done an amazing job with the bodgy material theyve given her. Season 5 & 6 dumb and dumber ruined Arya and put her in a horrid monotonous storyline training and repeatedly getting her ass kicked stick fighting in house of black and white. Season 5 onward could and should have been written and planned out SO much better.
@@garym6338 Arya has been my favorite character from the get-go and I agree, I absolutely HATE what they did with her in season 6&7. Maisie is incredible for what she was given. Same with all the other complex, characters like Tyrion, Petyr Baelish, and Varys. Something that could have been SOOOOOO ingenious had they just given two shits about carrying out the story properly instead of spending an obscene amount of money to give us something aesthetic to look at. Its such slap in the face to the audience, the cast, and GRRM.
Lindsay Hangos i agree completely. The dialogue in GoT season 5+ has been atrocious. Even in first 4 seasons dialogue was occassionally cheesy, but there were at least a lot of genuine sounding, meaningful well written conversations also. Season 7 on especially....characters just say random shit either as a nostalgic callback to earlier seasons, because it is funny and/or "badass" or because the writers cant come up with actual meaningful dialogue that helps explain and advance the plotlines and motivations of characters.
NK was the most frightening character of the entire story and added that feeling of unexpectancy whenever he was about to make a move, every time he showed up I couldn't simply blink because the tension was so high, and well, now...
“ This episode is gonna make the Red Wedding look like a rehearsal dinner” Like why lie??? Why??? So much wrong with this episode I don’t even feel like typing it all.
Lol I got all emotionally ready after watching that Jenny of old stones thing cuz I thought like 90% of characters would die, but only the characters no one gives a flat fuck about died. Like who actually cared about Beric? The God damn kings landing whores were more relevant than him.
20 Questions to anyone who thought this was a great episode.... 1. If The Night King knew where Bran was, why didn't he just fly over to him with Vicerion and burn Bran, the Greyjoys and the weir wood tree all where they stood. There wasn't a damn thing anyone could do to stop him. 2. Since when does the CALVARY go first? Why were they not using the Trebuchets and archers first, like every single battle in the history of the world? 3. Why was Ghost with Jorah and the Dothraki? He doesn't know them. Why wasn't he with Sansa Stark in the crypts? 4. Why didn't they use the same strategy on the wight army that they did against the Lannisters by using Dragons to pave a path through and Dothraki penetrating to finish off? 5. What was the point of the Trebuchets and Catapults? 6. Jorah was on the front line of Dothraki, so how exactly did he survive and the 50 lines of Dothraki behind him didn't? 7. Why did they cast World World Z zombies in place of the Wights? If the Wights could move that fast, why didn't they do so as soon as the Wall went down last season? 8. So are we going to ignore 40 thousand Dothraki (special forces) die in 40 secs, but Sam (Librarian) survives over 40 mins in an open courtyard even after being dog piled by same wights? 9. Why was Sam outside fighting anyway? Didn't he promise to never leave Gilly alone again? He easily could have been heroic protecting the ppl in the crypt against the resurrected Starks. 10. Where the hell did Jorah come from to save Dany? Remember he was on the other side of the wights. Dany used Drogon to clear a path for Jon to get through. She didn't do that for Jorah, so how'd he get there? 11: I love Davos, but he said he's no use with a sword... so How did he survive? 12. Why were the wights so slow in the Stark Library scene with Arya? They were running like World War Z zombies previously, so why wouldn't they just run through that Library destroying everything in their Path? Why the delicate movements? 13. As Badass as Lyanna Mormont's death was... why exactly did the wight Giant hold her that close to his eye? Her arms were too short to be able to reach him if he just held her up. Was he near sighted? Even better, do wight's even care? 14. Why did the Night King smile? Since when did he have emotions? Wouldn't he have smiled back in HARDHOME as well? Imagine a SNAKE or Crocodile smiling. Silly isn't it? 15. How was Jon able to survive Vicerion's flame hiding behind a short wall and small pile of rumble? Remember Vicerion just took down half of Winterfell's exterior walls and he was the one that to out THE GREAT WALL. 16. What was the point of the WHITE WALKERS? 17. Why didn't Arya turn into a White Walker when the Night King grabbed her flesh? 18. Where did Arya Leap from? Also why was she screaming on the leap? Wasn't the whole point to surprise attack? 19. Why did Jon Yell at Vicerion? Was he just hoping to die? It really makes no sense. 20. Why does anyone care about the "Next Battle." Seriously, there is no need for any more armies, fleets or even Dragons. They have Arya. She beat the NK without even wearing a face, so how does Cersei stand a chance against Arya with her faces? How hard would it be for Arya to go to King's Landing, get Qyburn's face and then see Ceresi face to face? Game over, no?
Also why did they try to even fight them at winterfell? Why not retreat back to kingslanding, fuck up cersei, take the castle and fight the knight king there. I guess it would probably have taken the white walkers another 2 seasons to walk all the way to kingslanding
Hey man, they're really REALLY busy taking time off their yachts as it is to brainstorm a draft or two. Making GOT is way too much of a drag for them to take any time, or any suggestions- those come from those nerdy angry fanboys. Super uncool. That visual of the flames going out? That's the best we could've hoped for. The entire setup was built around that. That probably took them a couple conversations to come up with. SUPER COOL! @FORREST GUMP Stannis Dillane put up with so much bad writing then talked about his character assassination in an interview.
@FORREST GUMP I unfortunately don't have the interview, to my knowledge, HBO did a good job at covering up loose ends. I did see a video that mentioned the interview. The video is two hours: ua-cam.com/video/Gw5JyOtxovo/v-deo.html

arya can barely hide from like 5 zombies
but can jedi jump past 100 dudes
@@RamGuy459 Girls are superior lifeforms. Even adult females cannot compare.

You can tell that D&D are very high on themself. They probably see themself as geniuses.
Yeah I cant Stand It
dunning kruger effect.
Every. Single. Time
They are complete morons. ZERO medieval tactical knowledge. How do armies not scout WELL KNOWN ambush positions? It's beyond retarded.
Now I Know Why You're Called Cool Hard LOGIC
Well Said
Good point, CHL, now make a god damn new video 😂

Can I not do my own thinking? I can form my own ideas about what I just say. They openly admit to their own poor writing
They killed off Ser Barristan to give his plotline to Tyrion, then did nothing with Tyrion.
They changed Jeyne Westerling's character to a noble birth Talisa, had her write to her family about being Queen of the North. Got Killed and never followed up on it.
Hum that still to be seen but yeah i agree with you
Barristan was built up to be this mythical badass even Jaime Lanister had as a hero and he was killed off like a bitch.
Learning Disabled Spock I’m still pissed about set barristan tbh.

It's called running out of books.

Not only did they completely sacrifice all the dothraki. Before mellisandre showed up and lit their weapons, the weapons were completely useless against the undead without being on fire. They might as well have just lit all the dothraki and their horses on fire and catapulted them into the wights
At least that would have been funny. "A catapult?!" - "Let's fling the ring into Mordor!"
Second: in Minas Tirith the Rohirrim were used as flanking force against lightly armoured and armed troops. Mordor orcs didn't even have proper spears.
About Saruman: what the hell are you talking about? In the movies they killed off Saruman before they went to Minas Tirith. Christopher Lee was pretty pissed off by that .
Also, in the books Saruman being in the Shire was still some sort of epilogue, and there was a HUGE buildup to all the finale moments in Return of the King which was satisfying in itself. Many motives were explained, there were multiple story climaxes throughout the story etc.
D&D didn't deliver anything. They just went along "ok we have 85 mins of battle scenes, time to finish the episode and kill the villain. Arya - the stage is yours".
@@Aewon84 wrong wrong wrong. Lets think about this for a second what are the dothraki? Horse archers. How useless is cavalry going to be in this situation? Completely. So take them off the horses and use them as archers put them behind the unsullied or on the walls and rain down bowfire on them which is where the trebuchets should have been. Anyone with an ounce of strategic sense could have figured out a better use of the dothraki than just giving more corpses for the night king to raise for no reason.
@@Aewon84 Because the charge IS AT THE END in return of the king. They charge at an unprepared enemy from the side. In GOT, They fired their catapults and trebuchets maybe once. Writers "exactly, subverting those expectations". Minion "you are idiots" Writers "thank you."
I need an anti-climax pill.
When everyone was expectimg you to subvert their expectation you should do the opposite thats the most surprising thing. A duel between jon and nk that would be what everyone could like.
Yeah i was actually worried that it WOULD end with a sword fight showdown. It's so boring and lazy.
It should´ve been Jaimie danny and Jon vs the NK, a Lannister, a Targaeryen and a Stark fighting side by side to kill the top dog.
@@writersblock2909 no, no, no.... she couldn´t even "stealth" herself through a bunch of Wights and would have been a new recruit in the NK´s army, if Berric and Clegane didn´t save her little butt! or maybe there's an ending that reveals there will ultimately be more night kings and that's it's a never ending circle in order to keep the balance between humans vs nature. idk, I feel like the former ending is more likely but even if they somehow bring him back that entire narrative execution of episode 3 was horrible, and if they don't bring it back it will ruin the main point of the entire show sooo....

Nothing at all...!
The scene was just a joke. And we all are, since we spend our last few years on this show.
They didn't even give him the opportunity to swing his sword at the Dragon. It's like Dumb & Dumber didn't want Jon to be the Hero of the Series.
I dunno i thought season 6 was good. We had the Battle of Bastards and the massacre at the Sept of Baelor. To me season 7 and 8 are the shit ones.
Girl power is more important than telling a good story. And Lyanna Mormont ends up more important to the battle than the Dothraki? The fuck?
I laughed so hard when Jon runs past Sam as he is sitting on the ground stabbing the wights. Like, the wights just chose NOT to kill Sam or something...
Sam is just too tiny and quick to stab even when pinned.

That opener paraphrased "We dont wanna listen to and learn from criticism, so we dont"
that was not paraphrased you fucking strawmanned it hard.
@@Jabbaz03 strawmanned and exaggerated perhaps but still no less true. They trivialized criticism and a strawman doesn't change that.
@@Dartchone Except they did state some facts when they said that they were given contrary criticisms. If like they said some people said there was too much violence and others criticized it for not having enough, which criticism is more valid? If everyone was saying the same thing it would be easy to fix, but often audiences disagree. With episode 3 of this last season I came around to liking the ending, but I would have preferred they handled it differently. Other people dislike the ending entirely and wish it had been written in an entirely different direction. If the showrunners were to reshoot the episode trying to please both critiques they'd probably fail to satisfy either.
This is what cocaine does to people, they probably think they did a bang up job.

They will think that when there's millions of Casuals applauding them for their dumb story.

Episode 3 was a master class compared to 4. I can't wait for how awful 5 is only for 6 to be amazing because it would be George's ending
Euron's stealth ships and harpoons with pinpoint accuracy are the latest tech in Westeros. Come to the King's Landing Weapons Show this year and meet our head weapons' designer Qyburn the warmonger.
The show has been championing tech over myth and selfishness over altruism in its final season after building on "these houses and their petty squabbles for chairs and who sits on them don't matter when everyone is dead by fire and ice." REally, what's the point in investing in any show. I hhad avoided Lost the series but they got me with this one years later. Well, back to books I guess...
Why didn’t Georgie intervene?? Surely he could’ve helped
@Stevean2 it will be because even though the writing is lazy the battle will begin and end next episode and whatever ending George told them is how the last episode would happen. Or at least the last scene...

Jamie and Brienne survived fighting white walkers backed up against a wall with not enough room to even swing a sword. okay
Not going to start on Sam surviving wtf
Jamie has one fucking arm mind you. ONE. OOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNE
yeah it was funny to see Sam lying around and fighting those wights or maybe wights didn't want him in their army.
Becuz they will die next episode
Think about it. Not all of the walkers are going to have weapons. Most probably dropped them. I’d gladly let 3 or 4 of them back me into a corner just to use as a meat shield
Doesn't make sense at all to put Sam on the battlefield... AT ALL! No matter how brave he's become and all The stuff he has endured, he only killed a WW because he got lucky. Sam is way more useful behind a book
Christ, I feel robbed of 7 seasons. Honestly all the questions I had, all the mystery and fear stripped away for girl power. No, just no this show is now just absolute crap and it took this one episode to burn the rest to ash.
Yeah think back to rewatching earlier seasons to refresh your memories and then it ends like that...I want my time back please

Honestly, any fan could've written better storyline and dialogue.
Can’t believe this battle can be compared to LOTR helm’s deep battle!!??? this is a stupid battle, waste of time and resource. It Makes no sense, people die for dumb reasons and people who should be dead, somehow stayed alive. And Jon Snow ran two laps around Winterfell and seemed not to be able to find the forest where Bran is taking a nap, waiting for the Night King to come so they can get into a staring contest. Then Arya parachuted in to put a one stab move to kill the Night King.
cool don't watch it
🤣🤣 comparing this tragedy of an episode to Helms Deep is hilarious I liked this episode but that ending was just disrespectful and lazy not to mention the battle plan is terrible
Gold
The battle wasn't stupid, you're just mad because Arya killed the night king instead of Jon.
@@ericstaples7220 I hardly doubt he is, the man is right the battle plan was terrible. Put your trebuchets IN FRONT of your troops? You are NEVER supposed to put ranged weapons [Archers, Artillery, Catapult/Trebuchet] IN FRONT unless they are your only troops I.E Battle of Agincourt.
So after thousands of years, the night king crosses the wall, walls a few miles south just to get shanked by a little girl
you gotta be kidding me!
This is what happens when you pass the book series and then reduce the number of episodes because you've spent millions on each episode for years and have to condense the wrap up of all the characters you've created in 6 fuckin episodes. Years of build up to end in some mundane basic bullshit.
I love Arya dont get me wrong but they've been building up to a jon v night king for 10 years . This episode robbed us of that.
Franky Diamondz FINALLY SOMEONE MENTIONS THIS
They admitted that they basically do the opposite of what the fan theories suggest because they belive that it would have been "predictable"
Martin himself said that it is wrong to change planned story because, if you leave subtle clues for the audience to find out, then it's good that they do.

There's also enough fanbois praising them.
They don’t care all the way to the bank. And then there going to make five prequels and spin offs of more garbage
This entire show is an unintentional promo for people to buy the books! All the pissed off fans who are disappointed will bi+ch and whine on the internet about the stupidity of the show (after season 4, though I personally hate Talisa and Robb's storyline with every fiber of my existence); then find comments that say: "But the books are better!"
Then they'll buy the books. With my tinfoil securely placed on top of my head, I theorize that GRRM deliberately let Dumb & Dumber run the show, because he KNEW they were gonna fuc!< it up and wound up making people buy his books!
Well played, GRRM. Well played.

They said when she hit her head she wasn't at her 100% but she somehow not at 100% snuck past a dozen white walkers and killed the knight king
HAHAHAH I Know
Imagine if they had bought a couple masked men, jaqen H'ghar and his homies would have finished the job without the north losing any men. So fucking dumb.

Amen from the congregation!!!
“ This episode is gonna make the Red Wedding look like a rehearsal dinner”
Like why lie??? Why??? So much wrong with this episode I don’t even feel like typing it all.
Just say this- The battle was dark, and full of errors.
They thought we were in shock when they killed most the Starks, look at the shock on our faces when they kill the entire franchise.
They might have genuinely thought they weren"t lying. They really might be that deluded.
You don’t have to listing all the problem probably takes more effort then DD writing that episode.
Lol I got all emotionally ready after watching that Jenny of old stones thing cuz I thought like 90% of characters would die, but only the characters no one gives a flat fuck about died. Like who actually cared about Beric? The God damn kings landing whores were more relevant than him.
Q: How do you write GOT so poorly?
A: You take a great set of novels and you take out logic and plot development.
I always appreciate a good As Good As It Gets reference. :)
