I' ve got a suggestion: i wish the forsworns were a bit better explored as a faction, if there are some mods to do that, maybe you can do a video on that
They kinda are but you have to read in-game books and take certain routes in quests to do it. Another thing too is that there's not much to flesh out. So yeah, it'd be nice to have another fleshed out faction but you can't squeeze blood from a stone.
That's the thing with Skyrim. The game has many interesting factions and conflicts that are unfortunately left quite shallow. I mean you have dragons returning, civil war reigniting, vampire menace and first dragonborn remerging. Imagine if they went with overarching plot where you find out that vampires conspired with Mirak to further destabilise Skyrim.
@@HeavyBurns maybe a mod that alters the main quest and alter the world to fit that story more? Like the lich quest could fit with the mannimarco theme

I feel like all NordWarUA's mods fit here. They are of an incredibly high quality and have a nice, historical feel to them Also, Zweihänder is pronounced with a "V" in place of the "W", Zvaihender. It's a German word that means " -both- two hands"

I love your game changes, I've only ever played the Horror one though. I love these cause I get pointed towards some really good mods I've missed. A good alternative to the Vanilla Armor Replacer is the "NordWarUA's Armor Variants". It comes with the armors from the Vanilla Replacer and number of other Nord War UA's armors. The Guard Armor Replacer is a decent addition as well (Mostly for the Northern Holds and Stormcoaks gear which is very Viking Inspired) But I guess an argument can be made for the almost Varangian looking gear added to the Riften and Markarth guards.
Thanks! im glad you enjoyed and yeah i agree, didnt want to cover too many mods that clash with one another but either is a good choice and lol i feel like i cover guard armor replacer in like every video at this point (even tho its definitely not true) Just a must have for me :)
Beautiful. I know a viking like mod called Become Lord of Utgaard. You fight off sea raiders who invade the place constantly. It adds to the Nordic feel of being attacked by other Norsemen who want your land. When I played it, I knew, it was either fight them for the sake of Honor or die trying! Also I suggest adding Beowulf into the game and Lagertha. Add some very interesting Norse figures to be your companions for life.
A funny thing about Yggdrasil's Music is that it has two (What I have heard so far) Swedish songs. One from a children's book about a hungry wolf. The other a Christmas song about Saint Lucia.

Ahhh, Maelstrom, it's been on my "need to try" list for a while but I keep forgetting to add it in! I'm convinced, just forgetful. :) I like to do these Viking conversions for Skyrim from time to time. Another good thing to try sometimes is to use a complete winter overhaul and make the entirety of Skyrim covered in snow, gives it a good Scandinavian feel. I also shoved in Epic Viking Music last time together with Yggdrasil (with a Mator smash patch) and it worked really great as well. Nothing like some Wardruna to get that Viking blood pumping.

Definitely gonna check out some of the stuff mentioned here. On the matter of Quest, funny you mentioned both Forgotten City and Maelstrom, I finished the first and I'm going through the latter at the moment. I agree with you on account of the level of detail and immersion the mods have to offer.
A little more I suppose, in that the majority of the armor added has nasal helms, padding and lammelar. Didn't see any excessive leather, horns on the helmets or anything like that.
It'd be cool if you made one like "making skyrim into what it's meant to be" and finding armor upgrades for both sides of the war and make the campaign more interesting/have better rewards, upgrade the winter of college and tombs and enemies etc. Change up the dawnguard and dragon born quests so they're more immersive and in depth. That'd be a lot of work but could be an idea for the future.
I already did it some years ago. vikings didn't use plate armor but chainmail I can suggest Alternative Scaled Armor by defunkt and Simple hauberk The Stamford (historically accurate viking sword) Matherian viking shields Early-Middleages Helmets pack by VAultMaN30 Yet Another Guard Armor by Vaultman30 (changes armors and helmets of the guards in every city with more nordic looking ones- all the stuff from Vaultman30 is good for the purpose). sorry to say this but some of the swords suggested here are not norse and even wrong for the period one is from 1400-1500 (I know it's a fantasy game but if I have to make it nordic I think about the period around 700-800 AD when the viking became a menace in Europe.
Hey Heavy Burns, seems you are missing the most important one! Vaultman30 Armor and Weapons replacer with the viking reskin by Yoshi. And The Chronicles of Steel / Weapons of War / Realswords.
Saw quite a few comments suggesting this one, didnt know it existed tbh. Ill keep it in my list of mods to get around to and see if i can work it into another video :)
@@HeavyBurns its super. I had it in my last playthrough, but didn't like how it changes the elves into chainmail. Other than that its super for viking overhaul

You need to look at the Norse swords from Bobs Armory, they are GODLY. Bobs Armory also has authentic Dane axes (both great and hand axes), spears, seaxes, and a couple of bows too. If you want the ultimate Norse character run both Bob's and Vaultman30's together with the full replacers enabled. It's aggravating as hell sorting through all the conflicting files but worth it in the end. My only gripe about these mods is they both actually contain TO MUCH stuff at times. If I knew how to do it I would just take the "Viking" gear from each mod and merge them into a single "Authentic Northman" replacer pack. Alas I'm a utter imbecile with a computer and such things are beyond me.
@@HeavyBurns And I should add, "Could have used", the mods here were great. Good video as always mate, been watching since I found the channel through LOTR game change. :D
Option 1: Turn skyrim into a more viking world. Option 2: Turn skyrim into a summer paradise with bikini's. This is why skyrim modding lives on in 2021.
I think a mod that affects the scarcity of resources would be awesome in this list. Make leather and iron more common, steel a luxury, elvish something foreign, and everything else almost non-existent.
I like Cities of the North for the hold capitals and The Great City/Town/Village of collection for the smaller settlements like Shor's Stone and such. There are Great City versions of the hold capitals, but my game runs better with Cities of the North.
If anyone watches this video and says, "Who would possibly want to overhaul the music!?" Just fucking do it, it's the most fantastic thing I've ever heard in my life
Overall a very interesting video. The first mission i would go on were i to play a Viking in skyrim though, is find and melt down every single one of those silly-looking oprah-inspired wimpy looking HORNED HELMETS. Including killing everyone who wears one. Then kill every blacksmith who sells one. Thats a quest mod i would play. Except from all the horned helmets in a video about making skyrim more viking like, it was a very nice job and alot of good information.
You know, there's a lovely ship replacer mod that retextures all the ships in skyrim to look like proper longships. I believe it's called dk's ships. There's also another armor mod made by Nordwarua, called realistic armors I believe. It adds lots of mail shirts, padded aketons, & scale/lamellar armors to the game.

Only just learned about this one from the comments, ill try to work it into another video but yes, would have fit very well in here :)
@@HeavyBurns And I should add, "Could have used", the mods here were great. Good video as always mate, been watching since I found the channel through LOTR game change. :D
Amazing as always, no further comments.
Keep doing what you wanna do!
Your videos are really helpfull, I got a load order of 700+ mods and you gave me more mods that I didn't know before❤️
Another solid video! Your work inspires me to not give up on my modlist xD
Thanks! And lmao good luck! Remember to actually play the game and not just spend all your time modding like me ;)
@@HeavyBurns I'd love to play but currently I am stuck patching my modlist...
Dang, now I have to drop my current Skyrim playthrough and start a new one with these mods.
Viking ship sails... Reminds me of booze. We got a certain brand of cheap hard liquor with a viking ship with a red/white striped sail on it.
Yay!
He finnaly did it! Haven't even watched the thing, but with you as the fabricator, quality and entertainment is assured :)
Northern farmhouses is also pretty epic
Great video man
Option 1: Turn skyrim into a more viking world.
Yeah i think that in general tbh. Most game changes you can apply that to and itll work pretty well :)
My, what luck! Just when I was about to do a Viking play through.
I like Cities of the North for the hold capitals and The Great City/Town/Village of collection for the smaller settlements like Shor's Stone and such.
There are Great City versions of the hold capitals, but my game runs better with Cities of the North.
Man, I was just thinking about it yesterday. Thank you!
There’s another one if you want more Norse in your game called “Norse Font” small but very significant and I love it very much
The Apotheus Light Armor looks like something Samson would wear.
These are all great. Love how you showcase them all together.
If anyone watches this video and says, "Who would possibly want to overhaul the music!?" Just fucking do it, it's the most fantastic thing I've ever heard in my life
It’s about damn time
I also recommend "Beards of Power" for some intense facial hair
Yes saw it as i was finishing this video 1000% would fit perfectly! Looks great
You stay killing it dude! Great video!
I'm one of those people who heard about you from reddit! Really love your work, it's undoubtedly very professional and passionate. Cheers!
Hey thanks for coming to check out the channel! Glad you're enjoying :)
*cries in never ending modding profiles*
One day I’ll have to time to play all these amazing ideas. One day...
Your a legend dude, keep up the good work!
this mans cinematography is insane
