May 18, 2018---Thanks for the how to video. Got back into modeling, but going for 1/35th scale zombie/apocalypse dioramas. Plan on using one or two of Tamiya's WW 2 flame throwers in one of them. As to flattening wire, I use a brake tool I got from Harbor Freight for $6. It's worked great on straightening craft wire and solder.
Instead of dipping my hot glue project in cold water, I have a desk fan set up next to my work station that helps cool the glue as fast as possible. It's pretty handy and makes working the glue allot smoother and simpler
Cool tutorial. If you want a straight wire, you can use a coat hanger, a property flag, or an insulation hangar. I have a flight stand tutorial on my channel showing those materials.
Used this to make an awesome flame for my Neca “Rescuing Newt” Ripley figure’s Pulse Rifle/Flamethrower to add to my Queen Xenomorph Diorama. That puny flame effect that came with the figure was weak. Also used this effect to make a great looking flame effect for one of my Dragon dioramas. And did a blue/white blast effect for my Godzilla figure too.
It really does kinda look like a flaming hot chetto lol, but it does also look great, and im gonna try that as well to be honest. Ill be using that effect for my human torch figure.
yes just use a clear blue paint to get that force lighting effect your trying to get. Citadel makes a good clear blue paint one around $4 USD its under their glaze genre paint.
What would you recommend for making a slide for Iceman, I want it to be similarly translucent like he is and only thing I can think of is using a bunch of hot glue and shaping it.
I subscribe and like but please change your white background its hard to see the things that you are doing and please show us next time how it would like on the figure. But still nice tutorial 👍
Really great work. Best of all, it's not transluscent. Transluscent flame effects and muzzle blasts are stupid. I don't understand toy manufacturers and other customizers' insistence that flame effects be transluscent. Like they haven't seen examples in real life or the movies. Sure, the surrounding edges are transluscent but the other 90% are opaque.
I used acrylic paint heres the brands I use all the time apple barrel, craft smart, folk art, hand made modern, and citadel. If your worried that the paint will come off which hasn't happen to any of projects so far, just make sure you seal it after the paint dries completely. You can use modge podge or an acrylic sealer.
This looks super simple, be effective, thanks for sharing dude.
This is dope. Imagine installing a light tube at the base of this!? Let's go!
This is awesome - thanks for the tutorial! 🔥🔥🔥
this what i need, thanks buddy

Maribel Caguana You are a Freaking Genius
I gotta get me a dry brushy brush so i can do that to. awesome tut.

This is really gonna help me out. I'm making a statue that has a flamethrower kind of weapon, and i wanted it to be translucent.
Whoa i thought the thumb nail was photo shopped of something this is great!
Thank you as a toy photograph it mean a lot!
Also it could be an ice effect for any ice character. Such as iceman.
Looks amazing!! What type of paint did you use?
I use cheap acrylic paint but the brand's I use for this project was craft smart and apple barrel, thanks for the question.
What hot glue would you recommend? Like which one exactly
Could this same effect be used for Force lighting? I was thinking of using intertwined wires from twisties and using blue.
yes just use a clear blue paint to get that force lighting effect your trying to get. Citadel makes a good clear blue paint one around $4 USD its under their glaze genre paint.
Will you do a aura effect from dragon ball

What's the Modge Podge for? sealer?
Yes it's to seal the paint I usually don't film me sealing my projects because my camera has a hard time filming outside
What would you recommend for making a slide for Iceman, I want it to be similarly translucent like he is and only thing I can think of is using a bunch of hot glue and shaping it.
working on a video for an ice slide so you don't have to use 100 glue sticks hahaha.

Is that a cheeto
In the thumbnail it looks like it's made out of paper.
Was I the only one thinking that when he was dry brushing the orange, it kinda looked like a really weird Cheeto?
Now I need to make 20 of them and put them in a Cheetos bag and let the pranks begin hahaha.
Basically...
Water
Looks like a crunchy cheeto
Really great work. Best of all, it's not transluscent.

what kind of paint did you used? is acrylic paint enough or do I need to get a different type of paint?
I used acrylic paint heres the brands I use all the time apple barrel, craft smart, folk art, hand made modern, and citadel.
