John, I always look forward to your B&O products honest reviews they are clear to the point comprehensive and answers all the questions at least for me. Thank you for taking the time in preparing a great review as always in sharing your experiences with B&O products and your enthusiasm and advice to make informed purchase desicions speciality when it comes to the premium B&O brand with the unique B&O sound signature whether it is headphones, earbuds, or portable speakers making spending that extra dollars a lot more justifyable at least for me. Keep up the great work and stay safe. Respect.
Thanks for this. Been waiting for a review. I love my 2nd gen but I was always worried about them falling out my ears. These are lighter and have the fins, so seem more sturdy.
Another great review and great to see you back in the store. I have an original pair of E8 which I couldn't use until the fins came out, they now stay in my lug. The sound quality of my E8's has more resolution and detail than my Sony WH1000xm3's (sorry for swearing). Lesson learnt stick with the brand I love. Will get some H9's when the bluetooth is upgraded, it was disappointing not to see that on the Gen 3. Looking forward to some new products this year fingers crossed for some BL20 replacements.

Thanks Max. There probably won't be a live stream for a while, the Internet at the store isn't quick enough and my nice PC lives there. Never say never though. John
Not good, John! I’ve already got mine in my hands ;P. Should be in my ears though. My only excuse right now is my 9 weeks old son that keeps me entertained. But I’ll be back on the road asap to sweat all over them :). Brilliant earphones, I love the finish and the purposeful build especially. Thanks for the review, great to see you and Ian safe and «sound» :).
Osher Shuman Hey, apologies for answering slowly. With a 9 weeks old baby I am sadly struggling to answer messages let alone go for a run :(. For this reason I will be terribly slow or simply late for you to give my take on these if you are looking to buy them soon. The earliest I can see myself test these earphones is some time in August, hopefully during the first two weeks. Nevertheless I have bought them for a good reason. Before we got a baby I used to run regularly and I’ve run actively since 2008. On each occasion I run for about 15-20 km, and between 90-120 minutes, sometimes without as much as stopping for a super quick stretch. Therefore sweat in the ears is an issue. I have previously tried the E8 version 1 several times in winter months on the treadmill and although I’ve had the 2.0 as well as 3rd gen, I have never tried these since they have the same surfaces and materials as the v1. Nor have I tested the 2.0 Motion or the extra fins. I never really had faith in the fins. The E8 v1 just kept falling out once my ears got sweaty enough after about 30 minutes into my run. But strangely if I kept putting them back in, after some time they still managed to hold somewhat although not perfectly. Due to this even bass and rhythms started to fade with each footstep. So after a while I just gave up on the v1. It is too much hassle every time. To me the E8 Sport which is based on the 3rd gen seems to have been purposefully built from the ground up, with exercise in mind. It looks and feels like a different design in terms of making the earbuds fit and also deal with sweat. I have so far only tried the fit indoors without exercising. With the standard 3rd gen I have the issue of the earbud on one side either not fitting perfectly (it is not level or as snug as on the other side) or by using a better fitting silicone eartip that side won’t produce as good a bass as with the one that makes the earbud stick out more. However, with the default fin with the E8 Sport I did manage to make the fit better and it seemed to hold level. So I can definitely notice an improvement due to the way the fin holds inside. I suppose I could also try showering in them but that would only emulate heavy rain, which is only half of the story. You also need to emulate headshake for the length of a run, with both sweat and rain involved :). Therefore I still think a proper sweaty run would be the real deal. I have read a few reviews online but as usual they are mainly based on what testers have read elsewhere or the articles simply list specs and features when the product is announced - so they are not even reviews even if some call these reviews. I have yet to find a review with a proper in-depth test for running. I have bought mine for the autumn and winter primarily based on this: I know that E8 v1 sort of works but not quite with its slippery fit, so the E8 Sport can only be better with the rubberized ridges that I hope can both give more grip as well as lead away sweat. I have also more faith in the way the fins have been designed. I am also determined to use them for running because I struggle mentally indoors unless I manage to bring music into the game. If you are willing to wait for some more weeks I can get back to you with my impressions. When it comes to that hissing sound when no music plays while switched on, I think I have come across something like that with ear- or headphones from B&O so I think I know what you mean, but I wonder if it is when connecting to Blutooth. I have never paid special attention to it or been analytical about it in particular, but I will keep it in mind and check it out with my E8 Sport. I am sorry I cannot answer right away, my life has changed :). But testing the E8 Sport is also for my own benefit, and once I have more details, I am only happy to share if it helps others.
@@csaba5415 thanks for the super detailed reply! I am keen to get them but I think I should wait till some people's verdicts are out. The initial impressions seem mostly good which is promising. Hope they work well and keep the fit nice during runs. I also get sweaty ears sometimes during runs so hoping the fins hold them in well. Good luck and congrats with the child and looking forward to a better review :)
Can you please try this e8 sport out door with a strong wind and talk on the phone please. Because E8 having problem of receiving my voice when I talking on the phone outdoor. Thanks
great video. was it a review? Using E8 2.0, It doesn't fit in my ears because that bulge doesn't go in my ear so they are just held by the eartips, will E8 sport be a better fit than E8 2.0 or should I play safe and go for E8 3, no option for trying any of these beforehand and also isn't there some sound profile changes between Sport and 3.0?
The Sport and V3.0 are both based on the same earphones so sound the same. The only thing that changes the sound between them is the fit. Better fit = better sound. The regular v3.0 are the smallest but the Sport have the replaceable fin in different sizes to help keep them in place. I think maybe the Sport would be worth a try first. John.
Does it have a one point connectivity? Can each ear connect independently? When will the E8 series have that. That's the only reason I haven't switched from my Samsung Galaxy Buds. No matter how nice the E8 is that's a deal breaker for me.
Hello. What is the difference between two boxes of E8 Spors? One bkx is white with only earbuds on it, and on the second one we can see the case. What's the catch?
I have the previous 2 versions of this and I just bought this a couple of weeks ago. I have the same problem with all of them, when I am on a phone call, the caller always complains of my voice being much lower than the background noise, almost as if the background noise for the caller is amplified where they can even hear the noise for my slides as I walk. Music playing is good but for phone calls it's terrible.
I updated my earphones and will not re-connect to anything. It says it's connected, but no music comes out for the earpieces. This is happening on all my devices. Any advice?
My PC is back at the store now and the Internet speed isn't good enough for live streaming. Plus it would be difficult whilst the shop is open for business. My laptop at home wouldn't cope with the software needed for live streaming. It was a fun experiment during lock down but there probably won't be anymore for a while. John

Thanks. I had to look him up but I see what you mean, maybe that's what I'll look like in another 10 years. Wish I could play guitar like he can!
