B&O Beoplay E8 Sport Review: Are B&O’s £300 headphones the best a runner can get?

So, do the B&O Beoplay E8 Sport headphones deliver on those fronts? Nick has been putting them through their paces to find out.
The B&O Beoplay E8 Sport headphones Nick’s been testing are the limited edition, which is a collaboration with Swiss running brand On. These are the same as the standard edition E8 Sport buds, aside from a different colourway.

I just got these as a free replacement from B&O due to the E6 never ever worked.., they send them directly from Germany to my home for free. Is a pretty good service and warranty I would say!
The passive noise cancellation is amazing!
UPDATE.
After trying several other earbuds, I decided to try the B&O E8 once again.
I guess than my original On Running edition was an unlucky experience. The new B&O E8 seem to fit more comfortably than the On Running version, which is unexplainable, but true. I have also not experienced the battery charging / discharging issue, that I had previously seen. Bluetooth connectivity is still awful at this price point, but I can live with it for the sound quality and fit.
I would not normally post comments upon products, but as I was so critical upon the earlier version, it seemed only fair to provide a balance update.
Thanks for your sharing your experience! I’ve had some connectivity fiddliness but in general still rate these very highly, though i do adore the Bose sport earbuds just for the very comfortable fit.
Thanks for the review. I received these a few weeks back. I have the airpod pros for flying and noise cancellation and I was running in the Bose buds. I have to say these sound better than both the other sets I have. The energetic mode really enhances the base and it has amazing response without any reverb or tinny highs. The one thing I struggle with is the controls when I run. I have turned them off, turned on transparency mode on and stopped the music by just adjusting them slightly. I’m getting better at the controls but there is definitely a learning curve. They sound better than the Bose but the physical buttons on the Bose make them much more user friendly.
Are they longer louder than the AirPods Pro ? I’m looking for a set to make my ears ring lol

Bought these one month ago from from On Running directly, as I struggle with earbuds that fit well and to be honest, I had wanted to buy B&O for a while.
Pros:
1) very well made, beautiful design and colour. Best looking running earbuds by far and do not stick out.
2) sound quality is very good, as you would expect with B&O.
Cons:
1) You can only connect to one Bluetooth device at any one time.
2) Despite the latest Bluetooth, I frequently had the pair/ repair with my Garmin Fenix 6 in order to listen to music. I have not needed to do this with other headphones.
3) B&O phone app is laggy and sadly not of much value imo.
4) Like the tester, I also needed the larger fins in order to achieve a snug fit, and I have small ears. After a short while they dug in and were noticeably uncomfortable. While running, this was not really an issue.
5) I am having to send mine back as the left bud has only 10% battery charge and no matter what I have tried to do, I have not been able to charge it. It’s a real pity as I really wanted these to work out. I could overlook the Bluetooth and fin comfort issues, but the battery issue on my E8 is a major concern for me.
I have tried the Jabra Elite active 75t and despite them not being as snug a fit as the B&O ,they are smaller and the sound quality is only marginally less than the B&O. When running, I doubt if many people would notice the difference in sound quality. The Jabra’s also have the ability to pair with multiple devices. I also like the Jabra’s real button push v touch pads. Easier to operate while running.
I have no axe to grind with B&O and I have several pairs of shoes from On. Both are good companies in their own right.
I have the E8 2.0 and one of the piece is not charging at all . It’s seems like a common problem. Shame on an expensive earbuds like these
I hope the functionality of turning off the controls arrives soon. I have had these for a few weeks and on runs I am experiencing issues. Toward the end of a run the controls start going haywire. For example repeatedly skipping back to the start of the track. I have long hair and run for about an hour. So my hair is quite damp/wet near the end and will brush the surface of the earbuds. I also can’t wear these with a hooded jacket when running in the rain as again the contact from the jacket hood when I turn my head seems to initiate the controls. I haven’t had any issues in the gym. Overall I find the controls pretty temperamental. You really need to get the taps spot on. Sweaty fingers are not great. I have a pair of Bose soundsport free, and yes the sound signature might be a bit ‘neutral’ but it’s still pretty good in my estimation for working out. They have been rock solid and the buttons just never fail.
Can you wash them in the sink after a workout? Just a quick rinse...
Probably a gentle and quick rinse is OK since they’re fine in rain, but I don’t. I wipe down with damp cloth

Is that the mode where the touch controls are turned off? If so I can't find it haha! Will ask about it though, because it would be handy

How is the noise bleed? Been thinking about buying some earbuds to use at the gym, but I really dont want anyone else to get frustrated when Im concentrating with high volume.

It's pretty minimal in my opinion, I don't think you'll annoy anyone! Hopefully I don't just have very tolerant standards for noise bleed though!

I hear you mention that wing tips like vistas are better, is that true? would these stay in your ear no matter what motion heavy workout you do. I have an issue with most earbuds falling out include AirPod pros

What about these vs the Klipsch T5 II McLaren edition
I’ve tried them both - in my opinion, the klispch is better in terms of sound quality - but the stability fins on the klipsch make them a pain to keep in place and if you use the biggest fins, they struggle to fit back in the case
Huge disappointment. You left out a number of important points. Can you have two devices working at once, such as a Iphone and IPad. I’m watching your review on my IPad but if a phone call comes in I don’t want to miss the call. Number two what version of Bluetooth, 5.0 5.1 or 5.2 that just came out. Hello.
Hi. It's a running review, so I focused on how they are for running. You can only pair one device at a time. Bluetooth 5.1. Hello.
You can connect several devices even with the older version E6 which I am doing now!
The thing is these products probably cost £30 to manufacture and they inflate the price because the company is greedy. If they halved the price they would still sell thousands and probably even more. The price for these are simply artificially unreasonable. I returned two sets of the Gen 1 buds, with of which failed too sync and then failed to literally turn on.
They’re not haha, they’re manufactured in Denmark so it would be quite expensive to do so

Definitely awful, no one is hear me while speaking. There is no noise canceling option. Also, what is annoying me, is trying to pres twice for next song, it always sense first tap and pause music. it is waste of huge money. Do not buy!
