Hey Guys, great job, really enjoyed the video and husband and wife assembly team. You made it look very easy and followed the manual instructions. Thanks for the very nice review and your efforts. Gregg Neuer, President DK2Power Las Vegas.

Another EXCELLENT and THOROUGH video!! I watched your second video first and saw how the unit performed and now, if I bought THIS machine, I would definitely watch this video as a guide to putting the chipper together. The more I see of this machine, (OPC566E) I think I would be more satisfied (paying an extra $500.00 for it) than I would be if I bought the less expensive (OPC506). Still wish I could tell if the difference is worth it (I don't need the electric start and extra wheels). Thanks again for sharing the video and keep up the good work!

I ended up buying the same model (w/o Electric Start) and this spring have really been able to put it to the test clearing a large area of land. I will agree with others that this machine is a BEAST! Starts right up every time - Runs Strong - Extremely powerful! I bought a small, portable "dolly hitch" from Harbor Freight to help move it around and it works perfect! Could not be happier with my purchase!

This video looks to be very helpful. I have watched it a couple of times. I will be putting one of these chippers together shortly.
However, as another viewer noted, watching you do this without protecting your feet is beyond cringeworthy. It feels a little irresponsible even. Ditto for your helper. Please keep sharing…videos like this are appreciated. But, please add in some safety tips and wear heavy duty shoes or boots. 14:13

Since it was being returned, did you return it fully assembled or did you have to disassemble and recrate it ? The addition of fuel and oil usually can create problems for returns. Did the replacement come as expected with no defects ?

Thanks. I put mine together before I saw how’s this. Couple things. The engine instructions talks about gear oil. Took me a long time to decide I had a model with no separate gear oil. (The service manual on line shows that option but not the manual). There are 3 grease fittings one on each side of cutter shaft and one on tow bar. You didn’t seem to worry about that and the documents are silent. (Finally, your bare feet made me cringe with the heavy and some sharp parts- I and my helper wore boots and I suggest that. )

Yes boots are best! I like bare feet, but you have to be super careful.

Helped me put mine together. Thanks. The emergency stop is located on the bottom of the chute on mine.

Do you accidently hit the e-stop when loading? I do once in a great while. I would think I would more with it on the bottom.

@@swflfoodforest934 yes I have hit it. You can key it off and on lower raise the throttle to recover. I would prefer it being on the top myself.

Hello. I’m looking at getting the same model. I thought that it was supposed to have a safety shutoff bar around the front. That and the chute deflector is supposed to be square at the top which would not allow the leakage you show in your other video. Any idea why you didn’t get those features? It even shows them in the picture on the crate in the unboxing...

When I was asking about the wheel spacers, DK2 said this was a newer model then in the instructions. The instructions do show a safety bar, so I would assume they did away with it, and installed the E-Stop. Yes I do agree if the discharge was built like it is shown on the box, it would work a lot better. I really want to chip into a wheelbarrow, so the poor design of the discharge is a let down.

SWFL Food Forest Strange. Feels like a step backwards... at least with the chute.

Good job! Are you happy with the chipper now that you've had it for a while? I loved the video but was very concerned that you were assembling a heavy piece of equipment in your bare feet. I'd feel a lot more comfortable seeing you with steel toed safety shoes. :)

It worked great for the big stuff I wanted to chip. After having it for 6 monthes I kinda wished I would of bought the 12P1100 Mighty Mac® shredder-chipper by MacKissic www.mackissic.com/product/hammermill-shredder-chipper-12p/ , because I also would like to shred palms, bananas, and etc. But then I wouldnt be able to chip the big bunches of Mexican Sunflower, full length mulch trees, and bigger branches. I may just end up owning both.

@@swflfoodforest934 FWFL, I live in the Mid-Atlantic area of the country, so I don't have to worry about palms and bananas. I was considering the Mighty Mac, but decided to go with the DK2. I had many trees topped from a storm that spawned a nearby tornado, last summer. It took me a week to clean up the mess, but I just dragged the branches and debris into a wooded area in my front yard. I finished chipping up the mess, two weeks ago with my new DK2 and it took everything I fed into it. It worked like a charm and I am very pleased with my purchase. The Mighty Mac is made in the US, which I really like. I wish it had the options I was looking for. Let us know what you think of it after you pick it up and try it out.

@@rosewoodsteel6656 I agree main draw back was that the Mighty Mac did not have a discharge chute and also the size of the of the feed chute. Glad you also like your DK2
