- October 29, 1990, in Brussels - Unforgettable Sinead O'Connor! Her shaved his hair just to show that it is much more than a pretty face, has a soul, talent (sooo talented) and own opinion.
A 17th century poem . A beat that bands ranging from Public Enemy to Sinead used.
Here she shows a little of their true beauty and does just the dance, Celtic origin of this incredible music. Follow the letter below.
Acompanhe a letra abaixo.
I am streched on your grave
And will lie there forever
If your hands were in mine
I'd be sure we'd not sever
My apple tree my brightness
It's time we were together
For I smell of the earth
And am worn by the weather
When my family thinks
That I'm save in my bed
From night until morning
I'm streched on your head
Calling out to the air
With tears hot and wild
My grief for the girl
That I loved as a child
Do you remember
The night we were lost
In the shade of the blackthorn
And the chill of the frost
Thanks be to Jesus
We did what was right
And your maidenhead still
Is your pillar of light
The priests and the friars
Approach me in dread
Because I still love you
My love and your dead
I still would be your shelter
Through rain and through storm
And with you in your cold grave
I cannot sleep warm
So I'm streched on your grave
and I will lie there forever
if your hands were in mine
I'd be sure we'd not sever
My apple tree my brightness
It's time we were together
For I smell on earth
and am worn by the weather
It’s impossible not to fall in love with this woman...she embodies bravery, character, wisdom,...what a gift from our Creator she shares with us. Bless you Sinead💕
Perfectly said.
Pro tip: watch movies at kaldroStream. Been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Deangelo Cesar Definitely, been watching on kaldrostream for months myself =)
You do realize she did not support organized religion? kudos to Sinead👍🏼❤️🎶
100% I agree with you . ♥️🎶✨
This woman embodies something ancient and magic in Ireland.
YES! Great comment.
❤absolutely agree. Love this comment.
She does ❤❤❤❤
❤
Truly.
This is a true voice. Not over-processed crap that somehow has become popular. Rest in peace sweet lady. Thank you for the gifts of your talent.
Daaaaaamn...I've been to shows with orchestras, pyro, dancers, lights up the wazoo, you name it. This tiny woman and one ancient reel-to-reel just blew them the fuck away. I rarely say this, but God bless you, Sinead...May you rest in the peace you so rightfully deserve.
What a talent. What a brave human. She spoke the truth when a lot of people didn't want to hear it. Rest in peace, Sinead, we will not forget you...
She was never anything or anyone other than herself. No fake onstage personas, no sparkly costumes...just Sinead.
Già le dovrebbero delle scuse i❤sinad grande donna , grande singer
My favorite moment in this video is when she realizes that the people are clapping with her. The look on her face as she takes in the love, and then the way she just starts rocking with the energy of the people. It makes me burst into tears, I wish she had known that love always, instead of the judgment and hatred that people showed her at times.
We did not deserve her.
RIP legend.
When my partner died I would lay on his grave sometimes. It felt the most natural thing to me. I LOVE this song ❤
Bless 💛
Comon, this many years later and still, holy fucking fuck. What an honest and purposeful performance we'll never see the likes of again.
Amen, brother. Absolutely captivating.
Sinaed is a prophetess. She is a daughter of the most high. This is why she is under attack on this earth her whole life long. Take heart Sinaed. Many people love you and need you.
I really hope she reads these comments and knows how many people care for her. She is the embodiment of divine courage.
I can't quit crying and listening to her music. She was a huge part of my youth. Saw her live in 1990. We are the same age and I never imagined she would be gone so soon.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you God for Sinead O' Connor...!!!
She’s so talented! I wish life would’ve been kinder to her.
And look what life and the media did to her. 😢 RIP beautiful Sinead O'Connor.
Love that she danced the traditional dance to this. She killed it.
And sooo beautiful....I'm sad😢
she is beautiful; a beautiful voice, a beautiful smile, beautiful spirit. She can dance as beautifully as she can sing. Just a beautiful talented human being.
All that soul and power in one body.😮❤❤❤❤ I grew up listening to her in the 80's but sadly now thats she is no longer here.....I hear her.😢❤
There are no words, Sinead. Very sad tonight. May you rest in peace, such a brave and honest soul. And thank you for your powerful moving music and performances over the years. You were the epitome of a musical artist. Like Bowie, there will never be another like you.
💔❤️🔥😔
I saw her on this tour. I was 18yrs old and bought tickets 10 mins before the show started. She was amazing and still is. RIP
Tell me more about the concert! If I could go back to one concert in time, it would be this one. Was it the Year of the Horse tour?
Thankfully, this fiercely beautiful performance was recorded.
although I do recall viewing this first I can't but picture V for Vendetta Portman's character whose name completely escapes me now !! BUT yes fiercely well played performance well played you fiery siren HMMMM!!
Calling out to the earth
with tears hot and wild
For the loss of a girl
that I loved as a child…
RIP sweet angel…
Eternal love & peace for you Sineád...
Sinead O’Connor is a true treasure of Ireland. What a great performance!👍👏💚
❤ i have been crying every day since she’s been gone. what a powerful and wonderful woman.❤
what can anyone say, This is gold. She is pure fire.
Indeed.
Definitely! 🔥
Ditto
Oh my GOD this is so phenomenal!! She was SO YOUNG and SO GROUNDBREAKING...she's just mesmerizing. I remember getting "I Do Not Want..." on cassette (still have it) and playing it TO DEATH. Now I want to do so all over again.
Beautiful Irish poem, and beautiful fearless Irish woman singing it.
Returning here on July 26th, 2023 - may her soul finally find peace and rest. Sinéad's songs will forever remain a blessing.
"I Do Not Want" is one of the most shockingly personal and beautiful albums EVER". Not one bad track on it.
I know I bless the girl Danielle S. who introduced me to Sinead's music in college!
I can't stop watching this. I'm so sorry, Sinead. We were born the same year. You were something special..
What a magical performance.
Beautiful, exquisite, unique, fearless, fragile misunderstood Sinead. Bless you, you are loved ❤❤❤❤❤
Sinéad was such a special woman, a hero, she was so much ahead of the times in her statements, so she received all the hate by the bigot people. She was so talented, so pretty, such a beautiful soul, an girl that screamed out he anger over imjustice. I adored her, and I am lucky that I had the opportunity to see her live. She embodis heart, soul, Irish magic, a will to fight for freedom and justice and equality. LOve her. Bless you and thanks for all the inspiration.
The year was 1992, and a friend of mines girlfriend has died of AIDS in hospital in Toronto. She ran up and down the corridors punching holes in the walls after he lover died. At the funeral, this song played as we laid her to rest. No other funeral cut me so deeply.
After hearing the sad news of her passing away, I stumbled upon this version of this magnificant song. For me, she will allways be remembered because of her beautiful, emotional and yet powerful voice. I hope she has found the peace she was looking for. R.I.P. Sinéad O'Connor (8 december 1966 - 26 juli 2023)
I'm shocked there's not over 1 million views. There's a lot of people who are missing out on this!
I've watched it like five times myself.
La mayoría de la gente, prefiere la basura y lo que le venden comercialmente.
FIGHT THE REAL ENEMY/////Thank You Sinead for your art and speaking of something so brave.
Saw her perform this song at Massey hall in Toronto 1990s, I was so mesmerized by her…RIP Sinead 😢
Best use of the Funky Drummer break & best version of this classic folk song. Sinead was a treasure w/ a timeless voice, Rest In Power.
Rimarrai in me❤, grazie x la tua musica, rip Sinéad ❤
chilling coming to this now. RIP Sinead, the most beautiful looking woman ever with a shaven head and a beautiful soul embodying the intelligence of rebellion and protest.
She is still otherworldly, even in death. RIP Sinead.
the dancing, as she was, her voice, just amazing.
Sinead unveils her true self: daughter of the great Gaelic tradition. Right from the heart straight to the heart. Great!
I saw her perform in Berkeley and when it was time for this song she
rolled out the drum machine herself, turned it on and everyone was on their feet dancing and just feeling the power of her voice and I felt blessed and privileged to be a part of history. She was amazing but one fan got out of hand and some guy jumped on stage and she was visibly scared but she thanked him for "freaking her out". I will never forget that performance.
She rolled it out herself st the MSG show also.
When was that mate?
@@DanHunterSportsWriter I saw her in June 1990 at The Greek Theater here in Berkeley
@@nocilantro_gackany chance of anyone uploading the concert for us?
June 1990 was Berkeley Community Theater, not the Greek. I was there. I remember this song, I do not remember anyone jumping on stage. Not saying it didn't happen but you'd think I'd remember something like that!
Always one of my favorite songs by her. Introduced it to many friends. They didn't feel it like I did but for some reason this song really gets me.
Same. This song has played a lot in our house, but I seem to be the only one who tears up when the violins start up.
This is my favorite performance of hers. Sending love & light to you Sinead, where ever you may be now.
Epic performance. I love it when she starts dancing the Irish jig at the end. What a incredible artist with a beautiful voice.
+Doctor Benway who does that nowadays?
Has to be one of the greatest performances of all time. Mesmerizing.
I saw her on this tour at the Royal Albert Hall. This is the song performance I remember best. Incredible!
What a performance! RIP Sinead! 😥
So very and genuinely special on so many levels. Say what you will about Sinéad, but one can’t argue for a lack of integrity. Often in the face of much unfair opposition, she held, and most often turned out to be accurate in her concerns. She was also generously vulnerable enough to share herself honestly. Of course, not even to mention her extraordinary musical sensibility, her sophisticated songwriting, and her hurricane of a voice. RIP.
LOVE that crowd too!!!
Rest in peace you beautiful songbird.
Hail the goer!🎉❤ thank you for the music, for the heart, for Being❤😢
So talented. May she continue to heal from the pain she has suffered. ❤️ this woman and her musical talent is extraordinary.
Y know and think like you....may Sinéad will be the best tallent
I guess it was too much. She's pain free now, RIP.
@@framboisinedelarc-en-ciel1103 bueno ella fue siempre libre. Ahora más, desde luego. 💚
One of my favorite renditions of this traditional Irish song...by one of my favorite singers. Still brings tears to my eyes, even after hearing this when I was in high school, in the early 90s. Powerful.
It brings tears of joy and grief every time I hear it... it’s beautiful.
This woman is power and passion defined
Courage strength unwavering commitment to not selling out. Nobody like her. Nobody.
She always was a badass! A TRUE WARRIOR of the TRUTH! Rest in Peace you beautiful Soul! We all Love YOU 🙏🙏🙏
Great singing, and love the traditional dance at the end.
This is hauntingly brilliant. She was such a force, such a great voice...😢
It never needed the media to be successful, to this day it's still the best we've seen
Holy whatever you think is holy, this is a fabulous performance. I can only imagine what it took. Thanks so much Sinead.
One of the best female singers ever. Saw her several times in about 1987 supporting INXS on their British tour. Fabulous!
RIP Sinead. Your music will stay forever!❤❤❤
I doubt we’ll never see an true artist or rebel like her. 💛💛💛
Watching this brings tears to my eyes. It's as if she was not of this Earth, yet she transcended it's deepest and darkest secrets. What a lovely, magical Being. How fortunate I was to share the same space-time curve as you, however brief. May you rest easy, beloved Shuhada. Your music and your memory endures 🌌🕊️
For me a true icon with a voice that is so unique and beautiful..."I do not want what I haven't got" is still one of my favourite albums ever and is truly timeless x
I love how she holds the notes and the music is great. This song really speaks of someone deeply in love and haunted by the loss of their lover.
I saw her on this tour. Mesmerizing and ferocious.
That voice and those beautiful eyes. She's amazing.
I saw this live in Toronto. Still haunts me all these years later. No more than today, hearing of her loss. RIP Sinead.
So sad to hear of her passing. This is one of my all time favs
Absolutely gut wrenching performance by Sinead. I was awestruck by her first album, and her exact age, I am gutted that she is gone. She was totally 'cancelled' which ruined a purely expressive soul.
RIP our Irish angel of song
I love Sinead O'Connor's voice, raw emotion, style, and this song, one of her best.
Amazingly beautiful and captivating.
Magical, RIP most beautiful soul...
Rest in power Sinead. This might one day go down as the first ever trip-hop record too. xxxxxxxx
OMG! Her face is really beautiful.
She looks like Audrey Hepburn.
Way ahead of her time. I played this record all the time when I was in highschool. So sad she left us so soon. RIP
Holy shit. I get the chills listening to this. She's so amazing she makes you feel the song.
She was luminous and brave. Did so much for women and children in Ireland. A beautiful rebel. Gutted. ❤
I saw this tour, this song was so powerful, it's still one of my all time favorite live performances
Oh! How I've loved this woman and her whole making in this world. This just made me cry again... 😪❤🔥
I was obsessed with this song in high school. I love her.
Me too!
Same here!
Dolcezza forza rabbia tutto in una voce i❤ Sinéad
Sinead sang it with so much feeling and completed it with her unique dance, almost like she was in a trance.
Such unforgettable performance.
One and only one
Sinead O'Connor. ❤
Make me want to cry, RIP.
Bless this lady. I knew of her when she first came out and STILL THINK she has the BEST voice ever! Beyonce and Beiber have nothing on this one and never will. When will we get an artist like this again?
Pfffffffft. Bieber? Beyoncé? That made me laugh out loud
Lmao Beyoncé and Justin Beiber are two entirely different artists with different ranges than Sinead had. Also I would bet all three would roll their eyes at this comment.
@@Tsumami__Beyonce has to dance and shake her boodie to get attention. Our late Irish singer....was pure voice no need to undress and shake her bones. Listen to her version of "Sacrifice" Elton John song to get the big difference between an entertainer and an artist.
Stunningly beautiful. May she rest in peace ❤
No!! I don't want her gone! My heart can't handle it.... I thought I was going to be an alt music rock star because of her.
Thrilling. Powerful. Goddess.
I love the electronica of the early 90's. I could imagine Bjork doing a cover of this song back then.
Rest now Sinéad, you are deeply loved
Outstanding
So beautiful ❤❤❤
Rest in peace with your dear baby boy Sinead. May you find the eternal rest that this world and the people in it could not give you. Thank you for the gift of your music and the bravery in the face of judgments when the only thing you did was speak the truth.
Rest in Power. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. 😢💜
Sinead you are immortal!
RIP Sinead ❤
you were a goddess. a poet. a channeler of other-worldly spirits. a brave and delicate soul.
thank you for such beautiful music. incredible performances. and most of all, a fierce dedication to your true self.
The power of Sinead channeling the ancient spirits brings tears to my eyes and a chill down my spine
Fly eye sweet beautiful girl. You're free from all the pain in your mind, heart & reunited w your precious Shane again. I love you. Thank you for all the beautiful music & your beautiful Angelic voice. 🤍🍀🍀
