Lone Fox has videos with cane. I learned from him that presoaking the cane then using it will give a tight fit. Also he got this flexible wood trim to finish the inside of the cut edges that you painted. Then to top it off he put a thinner trim to get a finished look.

My legs fit in a size 8/10 but my waist/stomach part is more of a size 4/6 so they fit on the bottom yet I can fit 2 fists inside the waistband 🤦♀️ please help me!

I know that when I get videos that I am not interested I simply click not intrested and I don't see something like that again. That veneer front was gorgeous. The formica top, not so much but still a fab piece to maybe transform into a vanity with a better top and a vessel sink or something. Maybe next time she can Reverse-Pinterest a classic piece as sort of a penance to the universe for past sins. LOL
Okay, I'm sorry I don't care for the makeover, too ikea . But, isn't there always a but, if you had left the cherry as it was and inserted black caning you would have achieved a much more attractive piece better suited to the Midcentury look. It's just my opinion and I usually keep them to myself. Love the bench and acrylic work.
cane webbing is so ugly. Why do people want it? I have cane webbing chairs that I'm itching to remove the cane from and upholster it! But I love the DIY's.

Cane is supposed to be wet first and attached damp. It will shrink and become taught.
