the more intelligent went down the pulp, cast and lightning seeds, only the poppy pop pickers went for the whole oasis/blur crap, they both had merits but much better groups had far stronger stuff
Hugely underrated? It was played everywhere in the year it was released. This song absolutely got the appreciation it deserved at the time, and then some.
This song and the video sums up the carefree time I had as a teenager int he 90s. Saw this band in Shepherds Bush Empire in 96, met Ian outside waiting for my dad to come and pick me and my mate up. Happy times.
As a huge fan of Oasis, Blur, Suede, Pulp...I am wondering how in the world I missed these guys. Just discovering them here in 2023. WTF is wrong with me. They are so good!!!
Son this morning watching MOTD on catch up asking me about the song played over goal of the month. Half hour later playing Life of Riley on the way to school. On the way back from the school run decide to let it auto play. Sugarcoated Iceberg, Lucky You, Pure and this have been on at least 10 times each since. Didn’t know LS were behind those songs and went all this time. What a band 👏
Just seen these guys at the kubix festival last week. Ian's son and ringo star's son are now part of the group. Ian was nice to the crowd.i was at the front.

Wow. Thanks. I think maybe whatever brought you here brought me here to listen to this song tonight. Trying to keep up the high vibe even though ive been challenged of late. Much ❤️ 🙌
I love that "duuuuhhhh" sound in the last bar of the intro (0:14) and the fourth bar of the verse (0:22). It'll reappear in every 4th bar of subsequent verses, but I wish there was even more of it, I can't get enough....oh it's such a pretty thing!!!
I hang my head in shame that I forget this amazing band at times but, thank goodness I get light bulb moment and then I'm back tapping my toe with a big fat 😁 on my face.
Singer Ian Broudie was one of the members of the iconic Liverpool punk band Big In Japan borne from Eric's Club, which also featured Jane Casey, Holly Johnson (Frankie Goes to Hollywood), Budgie (Siouxsie and the Banshees), Bill Drummond (KLF, and producer of Teardrop Explodes). He was also in the band Original Mirrors.
UA-cam doesn't show how much people have listened to this song. There was a world before UA-cam and a lot of people listened to the song. Just shows how much people watched it on UA-cam
Another brilliant 90s band, these, cast, blur, pulp, oasis, an absolute must for disappearing down a 90s music rabbit hole..
Completely agree 😊
the more intelligent went down the pulp, cast and lightning seeds, only the poppy pop pickers went for the whole oasis/blur crap, they both had merits but much better groups had far stronger stuff
There’s subtle short chord changes in this song which make all the difference. Such a feel good song.
Yet another classic from the hugely underrated Lightning seeds
100% true
Hugely underrated? It was played everywhere in the year it was released. This song absolutely got the appreciation it deserved at the time, and then some.
@@shokk40Yeah. Lightning Seeds were underrated. It was all Blur and Oasis round this time.
I've been listening to this song since it came out, and I will never stop listening to this song. It's just so uplifting.
AMEN TO THIS

Get a life.
This song just makes me so so happy... Love it
1995! What a year 🥰
While I absolutely agree that 1995 is a great year, this song is technically from 1994 (that's when the album Jollification came out).
1992
I swear the mid 90s was THE era for music. Even mainstream stuff was amazing. Now look at it.
The first half of the 90’s was so very dreamy
@@germangonzales6985 Late 1994 into 95!!

Very earwormy! Especially the singles from Jolification.
Bring back the 90s
I can remember these guys opening for much bigger acts, and they nearly always stole the show. Love it!
As a huge fan of Oasis, Blur, Suede, Pulp...I am wondering how in the world I missed these guys. Just discovering them here in 2023. WTF is wrong with me. They are so good!!!

tune n a half kidda. one of the best tunes of its time
One of the best songs ever created
Calm down.
HIs tunes always pull you in right in from the first bar, I don't know how he does it but Ian Broudie is a pop music genius.
