Almost every modern car now actually just uses plastic bass speakers but even some of the newer Dodges still use metal 6 by 9 so there's still some decent car manufacturers left but not many

Idk why people are always complain about plastic car speaker frames. It has a purpose of being light weight. Thats why all new car speakers have plastic frames. Also car speakers don't have to look good since they are always behind a grill. They just have to sound good

@Anthonygarage the small magnet is a neodiniym magnet, they are muuch more powerful than ferrite ring magnets therefore they dont need to be as big at all

You have to buy a ring or you have to cut it off on the stock speaker to fit a aftermarket speaker compared to the older speakers. You just removed the old speaker remove the wire harness you could buy adapter or cut off the old wire harness and soldered the new wire for the speaker hook up the terminals put the speaker in and that’s it. There’s no cutting or no by name speaker ring on Crutchfield.

All newer cars have plastic frame speakers because they have to be light weight
