Becky, I need to tell you, when you get ready to harvest your garlic, if you're planning on freezing those little pucks of garlic puree again: DON'T cure your garlic! Today I spent less than 30 minutes peeling and blending up 8 entire heads of fresh garlic. When they're fresh and not cured, you can just cut off the roots and squeeze the cloves right out of their skins. It's SO MUCH easier! I will still cure garlic for long term storage, but for the freezer garlic, I'm NEVER going to use anything but fresh garlic ever again.

You should put up a bat house or two on the deer fence poles. One single bat can eat over 1,000 mosquito-sized insects in one night! Bats also help pollinate plants.

    FYI ON ELDERBERRY
I have them, they do speed and can become uncontrolled. I like mine because i harvest a lot for jam and the more the better for me personally. You should know this though. If you give it a home they will make more. So having a boarder or something might be something to look into if that's not your long-term goal.
Personally I like to pot up the pups and sell them or share them.

I believe She was going to do it along side the back of Her Grow House where the trees used to be. She also said She wanted to plant a Leefy Green up there also for salads. That way She wouldn't have to walk down to the Big Garden for quick Salads. It's ALL So EXCITING!!! What an amazing job She's done ✨🍀💛!!!

don't know if you'll see this but the Tabasco Peppers should not be planted at the same time as other peppers...after your last frost....but actually after night time temps won't fall below 55 degrees during their growing season...you spoke about pepper plants and temps below 50 degrees but Tobasco needs a higher nighttime temp....it's a Gulf Coast Plant which means very high temps during it's growing season so you need the higher temps in your area

Three things that would seem to really save time and loss. 1) finish deer fence so they don’t eat it all. 2) finish irrigation 3) use the four wheeler you bought to haul all that stuff up and down. Put it next to where you are working for shade. Keep drinks in it plus phone, hats, gloves. As much as you like birds, they will peck berries, tomatoes, and much else.

And I do every time I watch one of your videos. Thank you for sharing what you have learned with all of us. I also wanted to suggest creating a wind break once your deer fencing goes in. Perhaps a creeping IVY or even black berry bushes. My Aunt and Uncle have a nice size garden down in the southern part of Oregon, gets a lot of wind, but the berry bushes make a wonderful wind break and are beautiful to look at only down fall is they do need to be trimmed . You are going to be so glad you took the time to to the lay the landscape material to block all the darn weeds.
Last year i gave up weeding and kicked myself. This year we bought the rolls. Then covered with straw. Everything is already taking off.

Becky I just love seeing your home and where you live. It’s like a breath of fresh air looking out over the property. I have a lovely home with a small yard that backs to woods. It’s so enjoyable to sit outside with a coffee and feel the breeze, listen to the birds and watch the squirrels and rabbits. I have yet to plant anything in my raised beds. I’m in No VA and it’s time, so I need to get busy. I did plant some new flowers which included two beautiful roses. So far so good with all those! Thank you for filming and taking time to share your home with us.

Wow, that cherry brandy rudbeccia is amazing, I can't wait to see it bloom for you. I
With it being so windy where you are, it occurred to me that having the landscape fabric with hold the moisture better, so the wind doesn't dry everything out. You should get one of those garden wagons, to bring your plants or empty pots and such around with you.

Yes, birds are so beautiful! Bird baths and bird houses, bat houses, butterfly houses are so fun in the garden. I think you may owe Josh a new hat if it wont clean up well. You may need a brimmed hat with a chin strap for your windy days. It was fun in the garden today. Have you gotten your little side by side yet? It can be helpful with transporting flats, fertilizer, and moving stuff back and forth.

Just a quick idea I saw this morning….take a colander and make it into a hanging planter with spoons for a wind chime hanging from the bottom….great for vining veggies or editable flowers…and keeps the critters from chowing down on them….
I used my existing fence posts and put hooks fencing towards the garden side…found lots of colanders at the second hand shop and now I have extra grow space for vining veggies and they can snuggle on the fence for support.

Hi Becky! I wanted to thank you for all the amazing content! I grew up spending a lot of time at my grandparents which was 2 hours from our home. My grandparents would visit and then I would ride back to their home and we would stop along the roads and pick elderberries. My grandmother taught me how to can and make jellies and jams. I LOVE elderberry jelly! Since those early days I found a rural nursery that had elderberry plants so I planted them and the harvest was amazing. My husband "accidentally" mowed them down! He knew he was in a lot of trouble when I saw them! LOL I heard you say you were going to be planting some . When I purchase new plants I will plant them in a corner of my fence that I can net. The birds love them and my entire patio and patio furniture was covered in purple bird droppings! It was impossible to enjoy the patio area that whole season. Bye Friend! Terri, R.D.H.😊

I hear you sister. I'm in the same mess. So many seedlings that need to be planted out into the garden . It's getting hot and I don't like working out there in the heat. We plant in the coolest part of the day. I've been working on watering, weeding, and tying up the tomatoes that are in the ground right now. Your onions would benefit from some Ammonium sulfate. I got mine from Hoss tools and they are huge now. My spring crops are established and going like crazy. I had to order some more drip irrigation for the rest of the garden. Just hand watering for now until the irrigation system arrives. I remember one year we planted hot pepper with sweet and they cross pollinated. It was crazy. I want to see you succeed and have an wonderful crop. Good luck. It's fun to watch your progress.
