I think Karen's switch was flipped when her dad publicly shamed her at the father/daughter event. She was never right after that. I loved Mandy Milkovitch so much! But she was damaged, probably more than Lip 💔 My fave of all Lip's girlfriends is Sierra ❤ But Lip was too damaged himself by then.
@@MacPack I know that she was a pedophile and I know that she was a grown-up, but I feel like if she wasn’t all those things she was just a teenager like Liv was like Blake and lip like of that one scene of that peanut butter scene. I feel like if Blake wasn’t a adult and wasn’t into kids I feel like this one could’ve been a hot hook up culture for lip. I would’ve loved that scene. Had it been different but since it’s all those things I feel like it’s the worst one ever the worst one out of like I know they weren’t in a relationship because lip was just trying to use it as a prop as a project to take advantage but I’m gonna say out of all of those girls Blake was the absolute worst one
Mandy's really the only one who both understands him and is good for him. Amanda's the next best choice, as she doesn't really understand Lip, but is good for him, and gets extra points for being crazy smart. I'd argue that, staying with either of the above and listening to them would have given Lip a much higher likelihood of a decent future. Tami, consciously or unconsciously, is Lip settling; by the time he ends up with her, he's extinguished his best options and lost most of his potential. By this point, his life is almost entirely "what might have been," and Tami is, in a sense, symbolic of how far Lip has fallen. She's unique, in a sense, in being neither good nor bad for Lip, she's just there because they've been inseparably linked by circumstances (the birth of their son.) The rest run the gamut between entirely sexually-oriented relationships at best and trainwrecks at worst. But, far and beyond the worst of the lot is Helene. She may not be an entirely-heartless narcissist like Karen, but she's also not a troubled teenage girl from a broken family who struggles with mental illness. She's older, wiser, and has a much more substantial degree of control over her emotions and intellect; plainly, she should've known better. I once heard it said that, in relationships involving significant age-gaps, it's the responsibility of the older party to ensure that the younger one ends up in a better place than they were initially encountered. Helene was drawn to Lip due to physical and intellectual attraction, but she basically used him for short-term companionship and to distract from her marital problems. When things came crashing down due to her taking some very unnecessary risks (Lip took the same risks, too, but she has at least a generation of maturity on him,) she basically went into self-protection mode and washed her hands of him. Even after they were discovered, it still wasn't too late for Helene to give Lip as dignified of a break-up as circumstances allowed. The fact that she didn't, even when repeatedly confronted, was the straw that broke the camel's back. Absent Helene, I think there's a strong case to be made that Lip would have become a college graduate, especially if he remained under Amanda's management and guidance. @MacPack As long as the flames have existed, men have been inordinately drawn to them. For some reason, a lot of us crave the excitement of danger, even when we really should know better.
