    You will appreciate the 6 speed once you’re on a long ride, some real highway time. Another reason it’s in such good shape at 100k is that 6th gear.

    • @PragmaticTornado
      @PragmaticTornado 2 роки тому

      Depends which country. Normal highway speed limit in my country is 80 km/h (50ish mph). Don't need no 6th gear for that.

      If 5th and 6th are the same ratio, how would it matter? Just less gear to get to the same exact gearing

    A quality video. Your bike is sweet ! As it should be for a limited edition CVO. Don't worry about the miles. Not even a little bit. It's not a commuter. A daily bike it is not. So, you are good. Just imagine what the first person to buy that bike paid for it !! Which you did not. Good job. Thanks for taking us along !

    When we worked at a big trucking company, the guy who ran the shop told me, if I was given a choice between a truck with 18 miles, and a truck with 18,000 miles, take the one with 18,000, because you could have confidence it would likely go 100,000 miles with no problems, but the one with 18 miles might not make 20. And it was true; they had some that lost an engine or transmission before they could even get out of the yard.

    Than - please tell me what you think about a 2005 Road King Custom with 56.000 km. Last week I just bought the RKC in Austria (Europe) and it's my very first Harley. Before that, I did not have a Harley yet. I don't know anything about the 88 Twin Cam, I've never had floorboards and a rocker switch and I've never had a Cruiser, but I knew I wanted this Harley Road King Custom. I love the sound, the seating position, the beach bar, the whitewall tires, the color white and also the chrome and leather. It's exactly what I imagine under a Harley. Is there something I have to look out for with this model? (Forgive me for Google Translate - my native language is German)

    Well, I just bought a low mileage Road King. It is a 2003 Road King CVO with the 103 cu in motor. It only has 6,500 miles on it. Owned by an 80 year old man who road it once in a while. Got it here in CA for $6,000. Just to make your 6 spd jealous, it has gold leaf Harley Davidson lettering on the tank, factory painted. When the economy collapses, I can go out and scrape my gold leaf paint off and use it for money. Try that with 6 spds... ha,ha... BTW Sean, I like the sound of your bike. What pipes are on the bike??? Oh ya, my 2000 Goldwing 1500 has 135,000 miles on it so, the Harley will now get some miles put on it.

    Was it just me,? Or did everything go totally dark at the last couple of minutes. I'll never know if Sean got his sandwich. By the way, beautiful bike. Nobody does the color blue better than Harley Davidson.

      I have an 04 ultra with a 95 inch that will carry the front wheel well into 3rd gear.
      Heads, cams, compression and tuning are where the power is, regardless of displacement.
