    Flew ducted fan back in the day - late 80’s early 90’s. Got out of the hobby up until about 2 years ago and considering getting into flying jets again. Thanks for the video

    Great video. Yes things are much different now with all the new high tech jets/turbine engines. When I started turbines it was non AutoStart using the gas. And power to weight has increased as my old ATJ 120Ti is bigger and weighs more than a newer 170 size Swiwin!

    Fantastic video mate. I am an Aussie working over here in Florida and Bahamas. Flying field is Markham Park. I've ticked off rc nitro GT with some racing, a few years of rc gas planes and 3D dedication, 2 yrs of electric HELI's and just bought my first EDF foamie 70mm. NEXT, Turbine! Appreciate the awesome video, and thanks for clarifying some of the simplicity involved in a jet setup.Cheers

    Hi to make a spare port in the Rx use Powerbox micro match on flaps that way you free up a port and put an I gyro 3e in with the GPS works sweet on my viper jet

    Great info Andrew, but I'm disappointed you didn't sing the recap; the turbine's connected to the ...air trap; the air trap's connected to the ....fuel tanks; etc

    Great information for those looking to get into jets. Are you going to do a video on the plane ie is it marketed as a "trainer". What makes a trainer ???

    • @flatoutrc
      @flatoutrc  2 роки тому

      I don't think any jet would be considered as a trainer but the model is a Skymaster Viperjet 2m wingspan. For the average pilot with a bit of experience it is an easy plane to fly but these jets don't float around especially with the higher wing loading due to heir weight.

    Just a thought, I have converted from Jet A1 to household kerosene. I run Jetcat turbines and have had no ill effects from doing so, still mixed with turbine oil in the same ratio. The difference is only the lack of very nasty added ingredients in Jet A1. And a bit easier to purchase.

    • @flatoutrc
      @flatoutrc  2 роки тому +1

      It will run but sometimes the quality of the kero is not the same. Plenty of people have done it.

    Where can I buy a turbine? For real, I have built couple of edf jets but never tried turbines, do you know where can I buy one (turbine engine)

    • @flatoutrc

      Where do you live? You can search for brands such as Jetcat, Kingtech, Swiwin and find your local dealer.

    Ripper video mate, I noticed you don't run a redundant reciever? Is that just personal preference or you simply don't need to?

    • @flatoutrc
      @flatoutrc  4 роки тому

      Thanks. The Spektrum receiver I am using has 4 satellite receivers connected to it. Found they work well and plenty of redundancy. Every plane 30cc up and I own has the same kind of system. That big receiver box where the servos plug in is actually not the receiver. The satelitte receivers plug into that box. Each receiver is oriented in different directions to cover all angles. I should have explained this in this video.
