Thanks for this, ... 1st time I will be putting in a 2.0 engine, was a bear to get out. I do not have a ATV jack, just floor jack with plywood. I dread putting this in. Will keep in mind about the tranny.. SO tempting to cut the oil fill pipe, then join the pipes back together with a hose... would make life a lot easier. But Finally, a video on someone doing this! What about the foam seal around the back of the tin? Did you put that in somehow after the engine was in? Looks like it would have to go over the back tin just before the engine is finally seated in. Thanks!
You install it after the engine is in. I just did this in my bus... used the same process. It works well, but the upper bolts for the transmission mount are really the crux.
So did you ever get it running? I have a '76 Westy which I restored 20 years ago but it hasn't been running for about ten, so preparing to do some dirty work on it. I live in L.A. so eat your heart out, my bus is rust-free except for the batt box and the windshield lower edge.
Respect!
Thanks for sharing man.
Thanks.
