Although it was difficult to watch with the audio and camera issues, I really appreciate that you took the leap and recorded this. I've gotta go remove the engine in my own 71 bus in a few minutes, and getting to see where all the bolts are etc (the manuals just tell you but never show you properly) makes me a little less nervous. Thanks a lot, I'm gonna check out what other videos you've posted later.
Dude this is actually a great video. It's right to thr point without any bullshit. It's awesome you showed the throttle line so we know to disconnect it. Extremely helpful vid and pretty good quality too! Right to the point. Thanks!
Great walkthrough! we are picking up a 71 westy this saturday and it needs a clutch replacement and a couple other things, ill definitely be reloading this vid if i get stuck or need a refresh, cheers!
Thank you for making this video. I need to take the engine out of my bus and it really helps. Which jack setup do you think works best? Can you recommend one? Also do I need an electric impact wrench or is it not totally necessary?
I use a low profile 1.5 ton jack but I would recommend a full size floor jack for sure. I have a lowered bug as well so the low profile works for me. As for the impact you don’t need one but on certain parts it makes life easier. The mustache bar mounts are kind of a pain to get off without it. I’d say lots of pb blaster.
I do not unfortunately, but mine had the same issue and I went in and replaced all the shifter bushings. Although for the one toward the back you need to remove the transmission so it’s kind of a pain

I have a 1971 transporter that has VERY sloppy shifter. do you have a video on how to fix this?

I jus purchased one this kombi, but is a tin top
Can you put a Bug engine in a van? Will the rear engine mount be attachable to the bug engine?
Any bus past 68 has a mustache bar so you cannot put a beetle motor in unless you have the same mounting points
@@devynkopulos1058 correct, although they do sell an adapter that bolts on I believe to accept the mustache bar.
@@devynkopulos1058, Are those mounting points on the engine case?
hi
what is this engine?
Looks like a standard '71 Type 1 1600 DP, but not 100% sure.
Child’s play 1hr max
Got sick trying to watch, camera jerkiness..Otherwise good big picture review.
Yes I know! To be fair it’s my first ever video with a go pro, I think I figured out a better way to do it in the others. Thank you for watching!
Dude, whats with the shake footage. not watchable
Lol, first vid sorry about that, didn’t have a tripod.
Couldn't watch. Too much scratching noise.
Truly some of the worst photography in YT history.
I’m sorry about that friend I’ll try better next time!
