Hi, dear subscribers! This is Konstantin Fedchenko.
Today I'm the captain of the SAAB 340 - cargo aircraft. As you remember, i fly for one cargo airline “FLEET AIR”.

I would not say its small, for example i fly Citation jet - it feels like a really small plane. Saab340 feels like a big machine :)

Great video. The Saab is my favorite aircraft. There is a cargo company here in the US that has them. I am hoping when i get my license and hrs in 2 yrs they still have them.
I am sure they will, it is very cost efficient airplane with proper cargo door which fits standard pallets. Ameriflight you mean?

Awesome video! Just out of curiosity, what is the economic background of those smaller cargo planes? On the ground, you were taxied past a whole fleet of huge cargo liners. Do they not also fly to Birmingham? Is your cargo more sensitive? Does have to be delivered point-to-point? Is it time-critical? I guess that the fee per weight is higher, the smaller the plane. So, there must be a good reason which I haven't figured out yet...
We do last minute ad hoc charters.
Usually, when it is urgent, the load is not high. If the load is high - it can usually be planned and wait for a bigger airplane which delivers cargo for the several customers (like a DHL) or a ground transport as an option.
What we do - we provide a decent price for urgency, which, in the end, turns to the profit gor the customer.

How come there is no GPS that display your current location
One of the iPads has no GSM module, hence weak GPS antenna needs external gps receiver connected. I switched off the iPad and did not reconnect the GPS at that time. Our primary navigation is an FMS of the plane, iPad is juat for charts

Great video. I thought reverse thrust was prohibited at EGBB?
It depends, regulations change time to time.
Generally, usage of reverse thrust ABOVE idle is prohibited at night times. But obviously you need it - use it.
Pilots think of surrounding areas most of the time, reducing to minimum application of power on final approaches especially when it is evident that we are overflying populated area. Unlike some motorbike drivers 😀

конечно бери, я себе как раз недавно СААБ 9-3 2.8 аэро хвд прикупил 2009 года. сейчас вот думаю, а не сесть ли квс-ом в сааб 2000 :))))
