Really enjoyed this video. What a hot little session! That spot you fished after moving away from the bridge was the first spot I ever fished. My dad bought me a rod for my 12th birthday and we used to live down the road, so I walked down there, and that’s where it all began…you got me feeling sentimental! 😂
Bulky hawg was my fav lure when I fished with the AUSBREAM guys and a did a few Sydney ABTs back in the mid 2000s it also worked well on the electric engine troll working around land points on Parra, Georges, Hacking estuary's systems.
Shroom you are one funny fisherman, I really enjoy your Aussie sense of humour. You seem to hit some of the places I used to hit in the late 80s 90s 2000s. Sydney over the years is getting harder and harder to fish due to population growth and the the pressured systems with the instant knowledge people could learn due to the internet/youtube. It took decades to master most estuary tactics by fishing with friends and family in and around Sydney, now people can learn at an instant by simply watching the internet/youtube. My 3 basic hints are - if your throwing plastic's and hard bodies look for structure and weed beds using the clock method and moving on if no results, if your land based try using bait with a float similar rig to black fishing with a movable stopper to hold correct depth and use an applicable hook, berley heavily to bring them to you! All this with the tide movement, drifting the float in the berley trail can bring them on🎏😃. Got me self a tinnie with minn kota spinning structure place to place with the odd anchor thrown with float in the berley trail and that has changed things. Anyway mate keep sending down those videos, can't wait for the next instalment.👍
I appreciate it Leosmail! It is getting that way in Sydney, and I can totally see with all the resources available these days, little things that took years to learn can be obtained in seconds! Great tips as well and I'll keep making them videos for you!
8 pound is the lowest I go because of that I recon it doesn’t make much difference fussy fish won’t eat no matter the light leader and I like the extra security if I hook a big fish
What a great session Shroom! I had a great session yesterday on my yak. I was fishing a mariner in Lake mac. A lot of small squire and bream. Couple of tailor and pike aswell. Got absolutely smoked trolling a 40mm mid diver along the piers. Didn't even get a turn on the reel before I got pulled under and busted off 😁
Thanks a lot Ham! Sounds like a top session with a lot of variety and numbers. I wonder what that was? I wonder what that was? Sounds like a big fish 😎
It's an Edge BLack Widow 6-8lb 7' and the Daiwa Exist 2000DP. It's very expensive, there are many other cheaper rods that can do the job. Something around the 1-3kg or 2-4kg line class 7 foot in length
@@ShroomFishing Thank you Shroom! Big fan here. You're the reason why I'm entering lure fishing, never believed in it before. Just got myself a shimano raider 722!
Fred, the reel in this video is a Daiwa haha but I have a lot of Shimano. No I don't own any Penn or Abu Garcia. Maybe one day, they are on average cheaper so you get more for your buck
Hey Shroom! Can you do a pov tutorial of how you tie your braid to leader knot. Im trying to learn some good knots that are slim but strong. I allways get wind knots when l cast due to the braid to leader knot not being very slim and getting caught in the eyes of the rod.
I'll see what I can do Mohammad! The main problem is the line is thin and hard to film clearly without a macro-lense (which I don't have) but I'll probably have a video on it at some stage. Give the Slim beauty a try, it's not too hard
Hi shroom can u do a video or podcast on how you learnt to fish. Also what would be a good heavy setup for land based fishing and also under 600 dollars Thank you hope I meet you one day
I'll see what I can do. Saragosa 6k/8k/10k paired with a rod in the 12kg class and up at around 8-10foot. Lot more options for rods, so I reckon just have a look around at what catches your eye!
I appreciate it Des! I’m just content seeing them swim, also some of the areas aren’t that clean of pollution. I’m planning a catch and cook soon so that’s gonna be awesome 😎
What sort of cheap soft plastics? Without seeing them, soft plastics in general aren't that expensive if they are the durable type so I've not looked at the really cheap stuff
hey guys any rod recommendations to go with a saragosa 6000 reel. planning to use it to fish pelagics from kingfish, bonnies and even jewies much appreciated 🙏
Depends what sort of fishing you're doing. If it's shore jigging, then one of the Japanese shore jig rods like Palms or Zenaq but they can be expensive. Otherwise, you have a lot more options. Something in the 5-10 or 6-12kg range at a suitable length
@@ShroomFishing yeah , know exactly what ya mean ! Although last Saturday in the fesh at Parra was quite good . Also a first for me ,,,,,, got a mullet on a 35mm shallow diver chubby ! 🖒✔🎣
Go for it! I'm flattered that you want to ask me for tips considering I don't think I'm doing so well! Best tip I can give is to put 100% in everytime, try to understand how to get the best footage you can with FOV, FPS and quality and have fun along the way!
You G'd me up to buy a new rod and tackle box! 🐟 haven't been fishing in years and it's time I got my kids into something other than Minecraft 🤖. What's your line set up for the lures?

Nice one Leonsmail! Bulky hawg is an underrated lure these days, only the OGs really know how good it is!
Great vid shroom. I have been missing those botony bay vids out on the boat with stewie going for kings. Planning on doing a trip?
Thanks Zaino, not sure when but always nice

Thanks a lot Adam! I feel the same, not much talk on the Damiki Monster Miki, it's so underrated!
Love your energy mate! Keep it up please.
You’re a true addict in every sense of the word, Shroom - fishing muddy water in torrential rain! Haha
Haha true Hai! So long as there’s fish 😂
I don’t understand how you get fish in the rain or after the rain. Any tips for location choice after or during rain?
Declan, usually a fluke I reckon! I usually look for locations down the river where the water is deeper and more saline.
8 pound is the lowest I go because of that I recon it doesn’t make much difference fussy fish won’t eat no matter the light leader and I like the extra security if I hook a big fish

Another great video, Shroom 👍🏼. Goes to show, you can catch fish in all types of weather lol.
Couple of nice fish too, mate.
Thanks Wayne, sometimes it's worth having a go despite the conditions! It doesn't always go my way, but the odd session it just exceeds expectations!

have you use risky critter before, are the same? what do you recon

Hey shroom what’s the best bait to use for night time wharf fishing
I recon squid for jewies , but prawns and pillie work
Depends what for but whatever you use, fresh is best and presentation matters
@@ShroomFishing what would you use if you where using servo bait and going for any species
Yo. Great video, by the way, your IG account is disabled....did you remove it?
Thanks Dave. IG disabled me, definitely a big mistake on their part.
@@ShroomFishing absolute swine! Hopefully it's back up again soon
There is a sunken tree behind that first pylon on your left under the bridge and your not far from a few Parra Barra near there. Getting closer….😂
Nice one mate! That's the tree I always avoid haha. Might have to cast closer in the danger zone with something more appetising!
