- It's the end of an era with the ol' Gen 1 Raptor. I believe this is the longest I've ever owned a vehicle, having bought this back in 2016. This truck has served as a family hauler for the past several years, but it is time to move on and allow someone else to love this truck for its next phase of life. The new douche-y Gen 2 will make an appearance soon, so stay tuned for some more truck-related content in the future!

I remember when you bought this truck. Definitely one of the cleanest first generation raptors out there.
You had me until you mentioned the aftermarket lift kit. Not trolling Matt, but word on the street is that Raptors with lift kits have substantially more issues than non-lifted ones when it comes to drivability. I hope you like this neighbor.

I can never wash one of my vehicles with my garage doors open with the clean cars inside like this. The mist always finds a way to get in there and ruin my perfectly dialed in vehicles!!!!! :)

"That's not Brake Buster!" Been there except I went the other way. Washed a vehicle with Brake Buster (poured out of the gallon) instead of Hyperwash or Adam's. Thought I had the ratio wrong considering the lack of suds. Kinda felt like an idiot. Second time I did it, I didn't feel a thing.
The foam cannon isn’t working because the replaceable filter is clogged up. If you need to get through a wash or 2 while you are waiting for new filters to ship there is a trick. If you hold down the trigger on the spray gun and turn the dilution knob down and quickly back up it gets it to foam.
Exactly the issue/trick I came across. I live in a hard water area - you can’t tell just by looking at the filter, swapped it out to try and bingo! Foams really nicely now.

This is why it’s worth taking off the PF22 foam cannon canister after every use (especially when using BB) and just running water through the head alone - unclogs the inner filter in the PF22. Forever clean & always foams maximumly :)
This is the first clog I've had in the 8 years of using an MTM foam cannon.
@@ObsessedGarage can’t say it wouldn’t hurt to unscrew the canister full of BB and just run water through the head of the foam cannon.
I’m honestly surprised you’re not aiming for a TRX. More power, nicer interior, better towing, more exclusivity, higher (expected) resale.

@@Dang_Jim you say that, but I just came from a 2020 Ram and I couldn’t believe how high quality and how well put together it was. Sitting in my Laramie, and then a 2020 Lariat, night and day difference in my opinion. That’s before even mentioning the turbo issues and weird electrical stuff that the 3.5 and Gen 2’s have.

@@ObsessedGarage that’s interesting to me. I’m pretty dang OCD myself (diagnosed) and when I was looking to buy a truck, I compared the Limited Ram, King Ranch and High Country. The Ram had the most well built interior and had the most appealing and modern tech. Ford definitely stepped it up for the new trucks though. I suppose it all comes down to personal preference. Just surprising to me is all.
WRONG on the Active washer surging. I bought mine at OG and it does the same thing with zero water leaks. I think it's just nature of the beast for whatever reason. It's still the best bang for the buck and I'll definitely buy from OG again and never Amazon. Keep up the great work for a great channel!

Ah sad to see this thing go, but time to experience other things so that will be fun. The Fuse 27 relocation is one of the few preventative things that the Gen 1s need which is ironic how it finally happened. It was one of the first things I did to my truck when I bought it.
This just dawned on me: this is possible in Florida. Washing a car in Vegas, without the humidity, causes a little more hustle. 😂
And it easily gets dusty the following day 😂

My glove box is full of 20amp mini fuses lol, i need to do the 27 relocation kit but i keep putting it off
That foam Cannon breaking down is a sign for you to upgrade to the new brilliant foam Cannon from griots
The same thing happens to me with my foam cannon. To use it before cleaning the filter, I turn it upside down for a few seconds every time I start foaming and let some air into the system.
Running the 2013 335 x-drive until its dead. 65k and still 0 issues.

So it had some one not tq the lugs down properly from the last tier rotation or something like and then it pops 1 fuse then she is considered unreliable? holy shit what its like having unlimited money must be nice. I remember rebuilding my motor on my daily over the weekend just to get to work on Monday.

Isn't there a button you push to release the tailgate step?
First generation of the tailgate step you lifted the back edge of the step, there wasn’t a button in the middle like the new ones. My older superduty the step would always get stuck

None, I had a list a mile long of people wanting it. Someone sniffed out that I was thinking about it, and made it happen. Sent me the money in a day.

My mtm foam canon clogs constantly. On my 3rd one from you.
Clogs from what? Mine never clogs. I only use with Hyperwash and put Adams in the bucket. I use Brake Buster straight. Of course I put just water in the cup when I'm finished and run it through while working the pattern.
@@timkinley1779 I assume you watched this video where Matt’s was clogged? I’ve been a customer of his since the beginning, and before that. I love his products. I use nothing but Adam’s soap and brake buster. I use what’s in the cannon completely and then continue to run just water through it each and every time. Yet after a while soap clogs the tube, though I can’t see where. And I was going to just buy a new tube from him but tried to pull mine off and couldn’t. Figured I’d get it off with pliers. But did you see him, and he’s a lot stronger than me, try to get that tube off? He couldn’t. I thought it would be very difficult, at best, to squeeze a new one on. I’m not blaming Matt at all. I was an early “tester” of the spray bottles which tips leaked and were useless, all in the name of progress toward a better one.

As smooth, quiet and practical EV's are for daily use. I would have thought that would end up being her car of chose to roll around on your smooth and flat Florida roads on daily bases.

The Fuse 27 thing apparently was pretty common for Ford trucks in that era - the one I bought used already had it done and so far, no issues. Having said that, something will break tomorrow...lol.
Saw the new Raptor on IG - it looks good. Glad those bro wheels are leaving. I'm all into the truck world more so than anything else and it's the worst thing that could happen besides the stupid "squat" (lift the front, not the rear) trend. Small offsets and flush to maybe 1" wheel poke max is where it's at.
