Nope, I'm never going to pay those prices, I have seen all these bottles for way less. I do understand that stores need to make a profit. But, nope.
The difference in profit is 10 percent should be average and when they selling bottles at 100 percent or more mark up that's not profit that's steeling from customers

I would buy that single rickhouse in a second! It's one of my favorite pours I have ever had! I just have not found one at a decent price or one for trade
I went on Black Friday to one of their other shops because they advertised four roses 135 le for 250 and when I got there they had one left but wouldn’t honor the price and tried to charge me 600. I was let down.

Nice store! I agree on the Knob Creek 12 it’s really nice however I do have three different Knob Creek picks that were less money and are as good or better. I found a Blue Spot in California for 149.00 I picked up four different Mythology bottles online that are really nice pours! Those prices for the most part are very fair! I have a store owner friend that sold me a couple of Russell’s Rickhouse CNF at his cost of 225.00 each and he normally sells them for 400.00. Cheers!
I still don’t even understand why these liquor stores who get these bottles at cost are price gouging… if they’re having to buy them at retail and then sell I understand the inflated secondary pricing, but that’s just ridiculous..
They aren’t exactly price gouging. A store gets Stagg a few times a year, and they only get a case or two each time. It’s important for a business to pad their margins. I think more blame falls on the distributors and producers. I don’t want to go into to much detail on UA-cam, but it’s much more complicated then people realize.
In my area the distributors are horrendous for NY with either low shortage or only allowing one to two bottles per store to stop case pricing for stores then up charging the single bottles it's a nightmare to find good deals sometimes
Well, if they sell them at normal prices, hawks will come in and buy them all and sell on 2ndary and make a killing. So, why shouldn’t the store make the profit instead. The buyers wouldn’t be drinking them anyway.
@livewithaffection6905 no one is buying from scalpers in my area. Craigslist ads up for months and they never sell them. A place by me has easily 25 stagg Jr's with dust on the top of them. 249.99. They never sell one. Not even one. But the Indian guy won't budge on the price at all. Even if you spend hundreds on other bottles. Most of the stores ran by Indians around me price gouge way over secondary. I just put a bad review on Google to tell other bourbon lovers to stay away.
Sad on some of those prices on the allocated...more expensive than even normal secondary... SFTB is 250 on avg, gold is 225....shame really.

Dunno... a lot of those prices seem really high. I live in the Bay Area, where EVERYTHING costs more, but even at some smaller shops I can find a lot of those bottles for less (even tho they are still priced too high and I won't buy them).
Still, props to you for giving some exposure and free advertising to a new shop!

Always good to ask about the bottles behind the counter and see if there's a deal. Sometimes those bundles can be worth getting. And the store may be willing to make a deal if you're buying multiple bottles. Relationships matter🥃🥃
They should really allow just 1 bottle per tier. That way at least the first 30-40 can get something rare.
Great video. I live in Rocklin and have patronized CK’s establishments periodically. His other Rocklin store has a tap room which I very much enjoy. His barrel picks are great as well. I do see a few people griping about pricing. First thing you have to do is establish some type of relationship. Buy somethings and maybe they might work with you. They have treated me fairly.
Thank goodness for liquor controlled states where I don’t have to show blind loyalty in order to get fair prices.
Hopefully you were able to get up to Loomis for the Costco opening!

I showed up an hour after they opened and was able to snag a blantons, Eagle rare, Remus, FA, 4RBP, Bardstown, EH Taylor, HW cask and Frey Ranch farmers strength

I like to give my business to mom and pop shops but not ones like this 👎🏼👎🏼 prices are ridiculous. And I'm an hour away from you.
$83 for MM46 CS, YIKES. The price was too blurry on the KC 12. What did you pay for the ER Pick? I think I can speak for most whiskey fans, we love to see prices in different markets to compare with. So many dark and dank liquor stores sometimes. This NorCal BS is a great looking store, very well lit and spacious, thanks for the walk through.
KC 12 was $89, and the ER store prick is $99. Gross

Buffalo Trace Buyers are Taters, but he ends up w an Eagle Rare and does a Store Pick EHT. ???
You always need a eagle rare even if you have 5 or more, there is always room for one more!
