This series was a masterpiece. Seriously.
I don’t think this show will ever leave me. It was incredible. The acting was flawless and beyond my expectations. I was familiar with the story because of the movie but the show impacted me in a way the movie didn’t. I can’t pinpoint exactly why. The chemistry was too good. The portrayal of grief and loss was spectacular. It made me feel everything. I’ll keep recommending it to my entourage until they’ve all watched it.
Leo Woodall portraying grief and loss was honestly some of the best parts of the show! That phone call he made to emma at the station broke me, their dinner scene together when he said those that can do and those that cant teach I mean kudos to whoever wrote this script because its absolutely fantastic 😭😭😭
@@Guyinthechairpresents The original writer was heavily involved in the writing process. Some lines and scenes were straight out of the book but layered and acted to perfection. Leo is a revelation to me. That dude is so good at crying, I couldn't help but cry with him every time. And I have to give credit to Ambika Mod too. Her performance was more subtle because she didn't have the same kind of heavy material but it was consistent and pitch perfect.
Yes I agree it does not leave you, at this point I’m trying to figure out why, the acting all through was brilliant but when Emma dies Leo’s performance was on another level entirely, for someone barely out of acting school where on earth did he pull that from, it grabbed at the heart like nothing else I’ve ever seen, a recent article I read with the both of them says they filmed episode 14 very early on in the process almost at the beginning, so again, mind blowing performance from Leo.💙
@@deniseclevenstine1712 I loved every bit of your comment because u were spot on! Leo really had the opportunity to do some very heavy emotional acting in the 2nd half of the show everything w his parents, emma, his out look on life as a whole. I mean it was all truly breathtaking
My thoughts literally! I don't understand how it's not #1 news worldwide, because it's just the best possible kind of storytelling and art. Also, Leo is a Star, period. I am a huge fan of the book, so I know exactly why I loved Leo's job on this character so much. All in all, magnificent!

@@Guyinthechairpresentsit was actually #1 globally on Netflix last week and it’s #2 globally this week. It is a success. It’s exceeding their expectations but Netflix has barely done promo for it.

Anne Hathaway is an amazing Hollywood movie star. I adore her. Devil wears Prada & Princess Diaries.... Top tier!
But Ambikas performance here absolutely demolishes AH in the movie. The series is just so delightfully ordinary. Don't get me wrong, Leo & Ambika are both very good looking, total lead material, but they inhabited the roles in a way I don't know if Anne Hathaway would be able to, or any major Hollywood film star would be able to. I feel like it would always come out a little too polished.
I couldnt agree more! Ambika has a much more regular person presence and she uses that to her advantage she’s very believable in her role and honestly very relatable as far as the lack of confidence and insecurities she deals with I adored both her and Leo’s performances so so much
Anne Hathaway is so glamorous even when you put her in glasses ahe just pulls you right out of the story, and it doesn't help that she's American
Love the review. I very rarely cry, only do so for animals and children on film, but this, Dex broke my heart and if an actor can make me cry this is an actor I will follow.

I loved the show so SO much and also your review. I think Leo is IN FACT gonna be the next big thing. I was so BLOWN AWAY BY HIS PERFORMANCE LIKE HOLY SHVT. I was crying like a baby the whole last episode, I was crushed, I felt everything at once, it was absurdly good, one of the best shows Ive ever watched. Take care!! Great work

I loved the show , have watch it over and over, leo woodall is gorgeous and an amazing actor, ambica was well cast and did a perfect job.

I could not agree more! This series broke me put me back together and broke me again all in 12 episodes and Leo Woodall floored me throughout! I truly loved every second of his performance and Ambika Mod needs more projects ASAP!
Leo mentioned he went to acting school, and I think this helps him capturing emotion.

I agree with every word. I’m just nodding along and internally saying ‘yes!’ and ‘I know right!?’ to everything you’re saying. 😋 This series is a triumph. Perfect casting and yes, as far as I’m concerned, Leo already is a star after this series. They both are! Have not seen Normal People after thoroughly disliking the book. Is it worth a watch?
I appreciate the support and agreements 😂🙏🏾 I think Normal People is 1000% worth the watch because of Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar Jones performances its so heartbreakingly beautiful to watch those two work in that series and I absolutely adore them. Its crazy a friend told me the book was better than the show but if I have the option to watch vs read it I’ll always choose watching 😂
