I haven't recovered from watching the last episode. It just broke me 😭 To recover from it I started watching their interviews so I could see them talking happily. So here I am 😂
I feel that every single actor in this series did a fantastic job or portraying their character! We were well into the series and it was a scene with Ian and Em when my husband and I talked about how amazing the acting was! Now watching this video and hearing the writer I realized it was also the writer and the director as well! All of this series was so good and it’s more of what we need! I feel like it’s “old fashioned” and back to basics where the ambiance is carried by the actors! I hope this wins a bazillion awards!
Yess I literally love the way they deliver those lines, it makes me wanna cry and they’re literally perfect for this, the fact she doubted being the lead whilst being a fan of the book is shocking
@antoniademetri no natural. Go back to the olden days when surgery wasn't even available. In fact, just if you visit India, the average woman on the street is stunning. Thick shiny hair, big eyes, full lips, and smooth skin are in our genetics.
I have a very similar face to Ambika's and in my life I've never been a conventionally attractive person, and that's because our nose is long and is not tiny. I find her and myself stunning btw, but we don't correspond to what society calls: gorgeous. And that's fine, because who f*****g care about stupid norms made by stupid people. I personally don't
Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think Ambika is very charming and well casted as Emma. And her eyes are gorgeous, very intriguing. It also wouldn't make sense if Ambika would be a standard Hollywood beauty storywise. Since Emma has a lot of insecurities and has to work hard to get were she wants to be while Dexter has a lot of pretty privilege during his early career.
I think she’s uniquely beautiful. Conventional beauty i think is just defined by what you might see if you looked at the first person in a trending for you video on tiktok. If the person doesn’t look like that, they’re considered “not conventional” but I like to say uniquely beautiful cause we all know that’s what it is and it’s better than being conventionally beautiful. That’s boring. I’m uniquely beautiful as a bald woman for instance.
This was by far one of Netflix's most outstanding productions. And as someone who lived through the era depicted (UK university, 90s London) I can honestly say that I have never seen the era recreated so accurately.. It was spot on, just amazing like stepping into a time machine. Incredible!!!
I loved the loss portrayed by Dexter, when you don't cry but your eyes do. Just water pouring while your face is serene. This is actually the sincere sorrow. Very, very well made and played. Great morale, as well. Thank you loved it.
Oh, my God! I deeply love the series, 'One Day'. Ambika is such an amazing actress. I had to Google her after I finished watching the whole series. Dexter's losing Emma was eerie and vicariously painful. I somewhat journeyed with him as he pined away in agony, as years passed after losing Emma. I so much love the series. Kudos to the writer and all the cast and crew. Thanks for the amazing entertainment
Now about Leo... omg Leo.... so frigging cute I can't stand it. But the way he makes u feel the emotions he's going thru during a scene is so good. I've mentioned b4 when they were out to dinner in Greece n she says how she got over her crush for him (which u know she was still crushing) but his reaction to that was such a blow for him n omg that scene sticks with me. The other 1 is when he's holding his sleeping baby in his arms n just the way he's cradling her head, total dad king! I just love how expressive he is, love watching him!!!
Another scene I love is when everyone shows up for the 2yr anniversary of Emma n ian goes outside to talk to Dex. Ian is basically telling him I never liked u n thot u were a jerk n to watch Dex's face during the scene is so confusing yet understandable if this comment makes any sense. Lol
I lived in the 80s and 90s and they really captured it so so well. Omg this was a beautiful series, I didn't want it to end. Cried my eyes out at the end😭😭😭great job❤❤❤
A golden/ supreme duo 🌟, the chemistry between the two leads was palpable and utter perfection *chef's kiss*. I sobbed and usually I don't cry at things (testament to the sheer quality of this show). Ambika and Leo both deserve best lead actor/ actress awards at the BAFTA television awards and Emmy's. They portrayed and evoked soo many of life's different emotions - it felt real and relatable. Pure talent. Also, the overall production, storytelling, music, cinematography was top-tier. A highly recommend watch!
Edinburgh, Greece, Paris, London in 80s and 90s. Love, loss, looking back and finding way forward. Reflects my personal journey. SO many amazing memories, some great, some sad. Series and actors deserve every accolade they receive. Totally marvellous. Totally human.
I love this Masterpiece put out by netflix. I saw it last month and thought that was so good. I wonder if anybody else has seen it. Apparently, a lot of people. According to this text. Great acting, great chemistry from 2 people. You would never imagine could fall in love. I thought they were both good looking.I loved it. Now i'm starting to watch it for my 2nd time. But I do wish it had a happy ending.❤
I dont usually feel moved by film and tv but wow, the acting was so great in this. I was in tears and on the edge of my seat. The scenes when Dex is crying his heart out are so real. Well done!!!
I knew how this was going to end. Going in I didn’t think the movie could be topped, but I was wrong. This is tragic but beautiful… it’s life. The actors were phenomenal! My heart is broken but I loved it .. thank you for this masterpiece.
a number of scenes stand out.... the drive to the station with his father after he has arrived drunk at the family home ... the phone scene at the station and then the box room scene at the end ..... brilliant acting writing and direction
Great series and yes an emotional roller coaster. Beautifully reminiscent of anyone that has gone to University, or not, but of our lives, relationships, friendships, etc. I found myself having flashbacks to so many different memories over the years and so many different people hadn’t thought of. At the end of the show and I was emotionally, overwhelming, but grateful at the same time that I get to experience all that. Thank you for adapting the book and the book itself.
Just finished watching the series (and crying like a baby for about an hour) and I must give them both a 10/10 for their acting and chemistry on screen with one another. I had watched the film 'One Day' years ago with my Mother, who had also read the book and felt like the movie was missing lots of stuff that made the book extra emotional. Myself and my Mum are both in agreement that the series adaptation did such a great job at telling this amazing story and conveying all of the emotions throughout.
Very good series, must watch. I’m a big fan of Suspense Thrillers. But decided to check out a light hearted Romance Drama. This series was in depthly portrayed by both Ambika & Leo. With heart felt emotional performances. Yep, have to admit, this story choked me up. I watched it twice.
I love the characters together and how sweet they are together. He has very charming eyes when he looks at her. Such a beautiful love story, but tragic ending.
It's rare for me to be touched by a relationship movie, but this leveled me. I can't think of anything I would change. Every aspect is fantastic. Ele é muito lindo e excelente ator! Jovem e perfeito! Eu chorei muito por causa do sofrimento do personagem DEXTER. O sofrimento do luto dele foi muito emocionante 💖
'We had to be taught how to use phones' STOP IT! 1979-born me can never handle this sort of statement, haha! Such a sublime series. It floored me. The leads are incredible!!!! Also Dexter's dad (Lord Percy Percy from Blackadder). I watched it a few days ago and I can't stop thinking about how it made me feel. Oof.
Très belle histoire Ambika et Leo ont joué profondément leurs rôles avec spontanéité. Un bel avenir d'acteurs les attends, ils méritent grandement . Bravo❤❤❤❤
Funny how they not only have chemistry but omg they physically fit each other like a glove. Nothing more sensual and raw than when he holds her by her neck like that right as he kisses or their long hugs when they greet each other. Their gaze, cadence, and pauses when they speak. Just an overall great pairing.
Amazing performances by the actors and awesome chemistry! (similar to the level of Nick and Jess imho). Even though I told myself that the ending, the act of killing Emma off at the time that the writer did was a contrived, artificial trick to turn this lovely story into a devastating tearjerker, my heart still couldn't handle it. So cruel and unnecessary. The characters finally got past some of their insecurities to realize that the other person really valued them and that they were enough for each other and then.... I couldn't reason my way out of the painful emotions :) The actors were just too awesome!!! Will rewatch this series but stop at ep 12.
@@Kristensfamily22 Ah yes :) with the help of the fast forward button, I can watch beyond ep 12, mainly the last 5 minutes of the series. The Paris scene and kissing montage were very sweet and moving. I also loved the conversation they had as they were descending Arthur's Peak. The way that Dexter smiled and said agreed shows that he didn't believe anything she said, (esp since at the end she contradicted herself by telling him that she doesn't want to be a footnote, meaning she wants more😄 ) I think that's why he chased after her to get her contact and to give her his number. And the story unfolded through all those kisses! I cried lots of happy tears, happy that they found someone so precious in each other. So I guess the series did end on a positive note🥲
They need to be in another rom com with a happy ending this time, their chemistry is too good for only one series

my favorite line is when Dex says to Emma, in Paris "I don't think you can". It was the sweetest and more meaningful alternative to "i love you".
Leo has said that's his favourite line too! Good choice 👍
Yess I literally love the way they deliver those lines, it makes me wanna cry and they’re literally perfect for this, the fact she doubted being the lead whilst being a fan of the book is shocking
she is so insanely beautiful
She REALLY is
She is pretty but not insanely beautiful. Go yo India or just look at the actresses from there. Then you will see what insanely beautiful is.
@@ant713mare these actresses natural or have they had a lot of work done? Ambika looks natural and wears minimal makeup, that’s a sign of true beauty
