Met and jammed with Warren earlier this year at RRFC.. He was the #1 reason I decided to attend this year.. He seems like an intensely private person with a super low profile and basically zero social media footprint.. He's the same super laid back, chill, soft spoken surfer dude he's always been, just older. .. We took some pics and he gave me an old pick from the 86/87 tour he said he recently found in a box he hadn't opened for over 3 decades. I tried saying a few things to him when I was on his right side then I realized he's clearly had some serious hearing loss bc it didn't seem to register at all.. He was able to finally hear me when I moved to be more in front of him and he could see me mouthing the words.. The poor guys ears are probably shredded from all those yrs of touring.. He definitely did seem a lot older all of the sudden but hey..it happens to all of us eventually. Really wish he'd come out and play in public more but I've heard he's more than set for life financially and really doesn't want to deal with hassles of touring at his age..
I shot this video....love seeing the clips of the solos. I made sure to get tight on all his solos....Lots of comments about the quality.....not gonna do much better in 91. It was a big sony vhs camera that sat on my shoulder that got real heavy after awhile. My master tape actually isn't too bad.
Warren has the killer riffs, blazing leads and blues swagger most 'metal' payers just don't have. He's maintained a consistent playing level throughout his career and also has great stage presence. Truly one of the greats even beyond his genre.
Warren...one of best writers and tasteful guitarists....NO nonsense tapping or sweeps....or connecting the dots shredding... "He has an unorthodox picking style"
Chris90RattNRol Lazy? I thought this was a pretty good, and relaxed performance. Rediscovering Warren - bought Reach For The Sky when it was released but didn't expand upon it because I was never a fan of Steven's singing. On a bit of a mission checking out the solos, wondering whether to dip my toes in the guitar waters again...
OriginalDarkMark Reach for the Sky was their weakest effort. Most would recommend Invasion of Your Privacy. I like Dance Dance Dance, and the recent Infestation is great.
WARREN TORCH DEMARTINI, GUITAR 🎸 GOD ABSOLUTE LEGEND...... Best of that era in my humble opinion. RATT really started rolling in 84 when I was 16 in highschool still one of my favorite bands of all time.
When I first started playing, 1985, unless you were a prodigy, the two players you didn't even waste your time trying to pull off was Warren and Jake E. Badass. They were the epitome of fretboard acrobats. And then, there was Yngwie .😁 That's a whole 'nother show.
Not seen Warren playing that guitar before. Looks like a Performance HSS dinky strat in plain black as opposed to Warren's usual graphic adorned Charvel/ Performance guitars.Still sounded awesome despite the quality, like to have seen the whole video if there was one?
Schenker was really skint, this is why he did this Tour As Second Guitarist....Check out Guitar Trade off's in Way Cool Junior this is Musical History!
Billion times better than bullshit Slash, CC, Mick Mars, Ritchie sambora and Phil Collen ..... Warren demartini the one and the only guitar God and really One of his own kind...
This was filmed in the period when Robbin was kicked out for his drug abuse. Michael Schenker is in this footage playing "second guitar", as if Schenker would ever be second guitar!!!. Check 10:14 out.
@@tomhathaway4941 Now that you mention it, I can definitely hear a strong influence of Michael Schenker in Warren's playing. In particular, the way he structures descending lead lines, the "off" note chromaticism, and his overall melodic sense.
@George Lynch Dixon I here ya my man, Slash has his thing and it’s great for what it is, but I was never a Joe Perry fan, hated his tone and Slash reminds me of him too much which just puts me off. I acknowledge he’s a great player but not really my cup of tea.

Thanks for the effort, much appreciated!
You did an awesome job, no matter what. The best and the closest shots from that era, I'm not sure that anyone else made it.
Awesome job man, great footage I love it, Warren at the top of his game so it doesn't get much better than this.
Thank you..Very happy you did and given the technology back then you did an excellent job. Warren was at the absolute height of his prime here
Footage is pure gold.
Warrens playing is shredding with bluesy feel never gets old
And never will, Warren TORCH Demartini absolute LEGEND............

He gets his picking style and vibrato from George Lynch
I wish it was in better quality!
Warren is an absolute badass.
I'd like it too!! I like Warren, but seems a bit lazy! ;)

Ridiculously underrated guitarist
yeah, yeah.. for the nth time
Never underrated by people who’ve heard him and aren’t idiots.
He's rated right at the top where he belongs!! Is 85 he was my favorite. Something new would be great
oh stop it with this "under rated" crap where do you people come from
Hey at least he didn't call him "criminally underrated"
Nice Video! Thanks! Im so Happy!
warren! awesome! and m.schenker! yeah!

Would rather listen to this than any hi speed shred masters from that era. This bleeds with soul.
GREAT THANK'S FOR THIS VIDEO...
Warren's fingers look so precise laying it out. Like a sowing machine taping out the patterns. The guy is a Rock God...No shit...
Thats an accurate description “ Sewing machine” 😂
Warren is one of the best.
Warren is the very best rock guitarist around, no doubt about it!
He has a lot of EVH inspired feel presence.phrasing etc. Clearly a significant influence.Must have replayed the Lay it Down solo 100x.
People who say that WDM is an underrated guitarist didnt grow up in the 80s.
Fk China-youtube Socialism/communism was he a lot more popular in the 80s than now?
Holy fleerkin schnitt!
My favorite LA gunslinger. Not on Slash's best day

It seema that later after the 80s he started using Friedman strats
I wish he did this with Robin more going back forth like when they first tour
No back for more? :(
He has got sausages for fingers!!
夢の共演やん😇
Schenker was really skint, this is why he did this Tour As Second Guitarist....Check out Guitar Trade off's in Way Cool Junior this is Musical History!
What venue was this recorded at?
Is that Michael Schenker? If so, why?
Billion times better than bullshit Slash, CC, Mick Mars, Ritchie sambora and Phil Collen ..... Warren demartini the one and the only guitar God and really One of his own kind...
Hold on fella...the players you mentioned....all great players. Nuff talent to go round&round😎
would this just be the best ratt concert? Steven sings one line, solo, one line, solo, Steven, warren ... oh wait, that pretty much is a ratt concert.
Looks like Eddy VH physique
Where was Robbin? I see Warren is playing his solo parts.
This was filmed in the period when Robbin was kicked out for his drug abuse. Michael Schenker is in this footage playing "second guitar", as if Schenker would ever be second guitar!!!. Check 10:14 out.
Robin was in a drug re-hab program at the time.
Wow.. schenker actually let his ego play 2nd!
Schenker loved Warrens playing thats the reason it " worked".Schenker def knows a good player when he hears one and he was a fan of Ratt

Too bad the audio on this SUCKS. The material is top notch. Dude was seriously at the top of his game.
Warren is so tasty in Ratt that in any other setting he totally sounds ordinary.
Don’t believe me ask him.
It’s King Edward and Warren for shredding, Slash is trash sorry folks.
