Absolute gem right here. Just replaced mine tonight. Thank you sir!
Awesome! And no problem.
Thank you for this. What was the problem with the metal thermostat housing? If it failed, how long did it last until it failed?
Thanks for the video. I bought the part from amazon and the throttle body hose. But I think I kinked the throttle body hose when installing it. I have no heat and the thermostat housing is leaking at the front where the steel pipe connects with 2 bolts. This is for a 2013 sonic 1.4 litre. I let it idle for around 15 minutes w/ cap off. All other coolant hoses are fine. Another you tube video recommended putting some ETF sealant. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Jack
will it matter if the thermostat electrical connector is on the side and not on top after replacement?
You took all of it off and then said, Just disconnect this. BUT how are they unlocked?
Is this a 1.8?
How did you get the electric connectors disconnected?
I used Pliers
That house that’s leaking ... what is it called and can you do a video of how you did ot
Jayme Francis it’s called thermostat housing. The video shows how to replace it.
Do you have a part number for the thermostat housing?
Sorry I do not have the part number but it was from advance auto parts.
What do you call the PVC valve that connects to the little pipe that sits on top of the housing. I broke it it was so cracked and brittle. It's from the heater hose that goes all around the engine
Throttle body heater hose inlet pipe
My mechanic broke it when replacing it, he didn’t tell me about it so I was leaking coolant all over for about a month. I finally went to the dealership and got the whole part (hose and valed built into it) for around 35 bucks. Replacing it is a bit hard, it goes all around the back of the engine, you will need to remove the air filter system all together.
Why did you remove the bolts from underneath? Those aren't connected to anything to do with the thermostat
Bolts are connected to the entire housing for the thermostat
Where did you purchase your heater hose connector ??
YRS_Stuart I got it from advance auto parts they orders from world pac
@@BrianBalatbat will that stop the heater hose from leaking

Hi, sorry I’m in Atlanta. What questions do you have?

So I’m confused… this isn’t the same part that I have on my 2013 Chevy Sonic. Ugh omg man I am screwed lol
