Thanks for showing the Chimera OS experience on the Air Plus. What do you think about the quality of the device itself? Any issues with the plastic or hardware?
No issues at all. quality is great. It does get a little hot and the fans are working hard above 20 TDP but it's "OK'ish", a legitimate trade-off for a smaller device. I think it's biggest con on the hardware side is it's nintendo like Joysticks - that's why I bought a nice set of Skull & Co thumb grips to make them feel a bit bigger and nicer to use. Oh and the battery is really weak if you plan to play on high TDP's..
@@IAMLXM0 that’s great! I have been concerned about the shape of the joysticks. I mostly plan to play indie games and older, lighter games like SOMA. Alien: Isolation is probably the most graphically intense game I plan to play, and it is still relatively light compared to new AAA titles. I’m hoping to stay between 8w and 15w TDP. Mine is set to arrive in a few days.
How os fue battery compared to windows? I'm a linux user, but the battery on linux is a hit or miss... in some devices tge battery last even longer than in windows, but in others the battery is a lot worse
Honestly the battery is crap in both :) but if I had to compare, I didn't see any difference. I think the biggest problem with Chimera right now is that there is no proper hibernation mode, it goes off to sleep but it won't last for as long as it would in hibernate. check their discord for more info
Hi bro. First thanks a lot for your video. After trying to install chimera os on my ayaneo air, could you discover how to turn off the ayaneo leds? And if you coud solve it, could you explain us how we can make it, please 🙏
Thanks, man. Really appreciate this. Got an air plus i31215u arriving any day. What's your model, please? And how did you find the heat on the device when you turned it up beyond 15 TDP, please? Thank again, bro Edit: just seen re heat at 20 TDP in your answers elsewhere. Good stuff!
Yeah I have the 6800u version. I noticed that in 20W it's nice and calm (more or less) and once I go to 22W there is some extra fan work going on but still nothing crazy. Once you go above that things start to feel too wild for my taste, but also maybe it's just me since i was used to the switch termals. curios to hear your expiriance on this once you get your device.. lemme know
Hey man, i know is a lot of work but can you make a tutorial to install chimeraOS on the ayaneo air plus? (also how to fix the issues to have it working great). PLEASE DUDE I HAVE THE SAME DEVICE AND REALLY WANT TO HAVE THE STEAM OS EXPERIENCE ON IT!!!!
No, max is 28W on this one. And honestly it gets too damn hot at this wattage anyway. Best thing to do is plug a charger when you are 100% battery and play at 22w. That way the battery isn't being used at all and the device stays nice and cool
Thanks for watching! hit me up with questions if you have any
So far how's the air plus working for you?
@@creauspssrb627 Nice and smooth :)

which powercontrol plugin did you use? I can't go with more than 25w TDP on my Geek 1s
I used PowerControl by oliverchang.

Quick question: which joystick cover did you use? Thanks!
These ones, they are great btw

I don't think you can do that. But go to Chimera's discord and create a post in the Help section, you will get a proper response from the devs
Thanks for the video. Can I install Windows 11 on this handheld?
Yes of course. it comes with windows 11
