Hi I'm from New Zealand and thanks to you my dream of flying has awakened. Will work towards getting this product of yours. It may take me months but this is something I really want to do now. Thank you!!!!!!!
Hey, right on. So far there exist but a few youtube test flight and reviews on the sp140. In Canada, where I'm from our $$ bills hold a similar value to that of manopoly $$, making this unit nearly $10,000 to purchase. Please keep the videos coming, with all the thoughts from folks both good and bad. This is such a new product with huge potential, and I'm imagining that I am not alone in my reservations before purchase. Some more long term thoughts from the various owners would be helpful. Everyone who tries it comments on the power, the torque, and the quiet once they are off the throttle. We, the potential customer all want to hear from those who have now owned a unit for a while. How are they holding up? Are there any common concerns which need addressing? I know there are the owners forums one can sift through, but we do love those vids! Thanks again. I'm pumped and I hope that your batch 2 sells as well as you'd ever hoped. Meanwhile, I'll be continuing to save my Canadian monopoly $ for when the time is right!
So is the motor too large for 80% of pilots? Is there a smaller KW motor that would reach the sweat spot for pilots that are fine with the thrust from an Atom 80, and another larger motor for the thrust of the Moster 185? I realize that for electric, power in is pretty much power out, so yes, you can program this motor to put out less power and program in an upper limit, but just wondering if you can make it even lighter by choosing a slightly smaller KW motor. BTW, a friend of mine ordered one and is expecting it to arrive soon, so I'm looking forward to seeing it.
Great to see you out and about with the SP 140, the looks on the ICE pilots faces after flying it tells it all. I can't wait to get mine at the end of this month. Will the new units shipping this month have all the current updates and do the units come preset to MSL? Happy Flying!
Thank you for the video, I really like the idea of flying an electric paramotor. I do a lot of acro training with my tornado 280. I really love the power and the climbrate I have with it to go back up again. What do you think how often can you climb up from 1000 to 3000feet with the big battery (20m² and about 90kg pilot) And can you tell me how many charging cycles can I have until I have a significant(maybe 10-15%) loss of power/ flying time? I really appreciate your work and I am so happy to live in the timespan where electric paramotor will be a real gamechanger 🤗👍
You could probably climb to 1000ft 8 or so times. As for the cycle life 500-800 times before reaching 80% capacity. I would send a message to @BraedinButler he has a UA-cam channel and that really all he does with his Sp140 just acro.
@@PDWhite Thank you for the answer! That is really impressive! 👍 I know his channel, he has some cool and crazy videos 😉👍 So I think it is only a matter of time until I place my order. I hope shipping to Germany is possible 😊
I assume you’ve moved away from multiple props due to efficiency. Is it possible to create a counter-rotating shaft for two props connected to one motor for torque balance?
Hey Paul great to watch you video and follow your electric paramotor adventure from Germany ! i hope and dream of i can buy one at some time in Germany which is certified here in EU…. but til then i love to follow your developments Thank you for sharing. Rg
Hi great video. 2 questions. 1 - I’m a short guy 5’6” and that frame looks huge. How would it be for a shorter pilot? 2 - as batteries improve on efficiency to weight ratio do you see these batteries being able to be swapped out as that happens? 1hr is much better than before and 2 hrs will be on par with the typical XC range of gas motors. Thanks! You may see an order from me in batch 3!!
@@cloudpandarism2627 I ordered one and received it about a month ago. Been flying it and loving it. The size isn’t an issue. The weight isn’t so bad either. Love the feeling when I go to idle and can hear dogs barking at 200ft AGL
@@mhbjeep awesome!!! was just sad that nobody here answered. i send them mail with some question. also no answer. but nice to hear you are happy with your machine. hey how is the battery charging time? i have 230V plug in my electric car so i can easily charge it outside if its just 1-3 hours. any fast charge options?
The smile on the second pilot’s face after landing was just awesome.
Makes me want one and I don’t even fly paramotors!
Thanks, Paul! The "Future" is now!! I love my SP140!! Bill
I can't, wait...to get that button update!
Building my own based on the SP140, but aiming for a peak power of 40Kw. Electric is absolutely the future!
Great! What's the update on your DIY electric paramotor?

Awesome stuff Paul. I saw you were using the smaller battery. Oh yea!
Very cool, thanks for sharing. We are so bummed we didn’t get there this year.
Is it worth having contra props on two motors?
Very cool, man. Thanks for posting.

Great report. Thanks. Could you give me realistic guide price for the unit and the different options of battery. Regards J.
We want Super-Man Mode!
How do existing owners get that double tap throttle update?
Update v5.2 for the controller is out you can flash it here config.openppg.com/configurators/sp140/
Where can we get more info on this unit? Is this something you are planning to produce? Are you going to partner w someone to use there frame?
You can see more info at openppg.com

They have an awesome 4 props version for that ;-)
