Thank you for showing the Roman Catholic Cathedral. It is so often forgotten because of the better publicised Anglican one. If you had gently asked the priest on duty for permission to film inside, it is likely you would have received it. It is beautiful inside, and worth your time. If you visit again, take in the Plantation Garden which is a short walk from the RC Cathedral.
Did I hear right ??? At 7.30, Commentator says, 'Pull's Ferry was used ... until a bridge was built in 1943.' The nearest bridge to Pull's Ferry is Bishop bridge, built 1340.
Very informative I enjoyed watching in the hotel before I venture out later today, volume difference in your snippets of video did help to clear the wax out of my ears lol :)
For a well preserved and overall very attractive Tudor period city they have unfortunate 1970`s shit university buildings, maybe it`s time to raise them to the ground and build something more suitable .
I enjoyed your video very much , but you didn't visit Wensum Park and our parks, as well as our mall's. I was born a member of the Royal Family in a maternity home near West Runton in 1963. Norwich has been my home for 24 years, when my husband and I got together, before we were married. The council discovered I was born a Royal Princess , only recently. My husband and I use to rescue wildlife around Norfolk. Somebody said we needed title's unaware I already had one. I schooled over in the US, but the UK was calling me home at at 28 , I came home. My British accent was quite strong up to the age of seven. Anyway, I've recovered majority of it, as I could never properly speak like an American. Unfortunately, my spelling is a mixture . I learned to read and spell very young and the Bible has always been my favourite book. I'm a Davidic Messianic Jewess or Messianic Jewish Princess. So, I'm of the House of David, Hanover ( Prussian House, but believe it could be Hanover, it is in Royal Genealogy at Buckingham Palace of Windsor Castle connected via Saxe-Coburg-Gotha or House of Wettin). I was born with moderate-severe Cerebral Palsy, and at present in a care home waiting to be rehoused, because the council failed to notice by my maiden name that I was a Royal. So, they allowed an illegal eviction to go through. I could have a go, but as I now have their full support to get us moved to Bowthorpe to be with my husband. So, really we shouldn't have been evicted. However, I'm interested in certain people like the Barrister that told me that I had NO RIGHT TO BE ALIVE, TO LIVE, TO HAVE BEEN BORN , TO EXIST after the Judge and him had ordered us to be raped prior to them getting us in a kangaroo court. I know the names of the people involved and know if mankind doesn't get justice that YAHUSHA HA'MOSHIACH ELOHIYM will.
I am concerned why there were no swans or ducklings on the river and what happened to the River Steamers? I love Norwich , as it is the ONLY city in the world that has all the things I love that is ancient architecture and mixed with modern architecture. It has woodlands, forests, and parks so beautiful to make you cry not seen in most cities. It is mixed with old and new, but the city for all it's beauty has a very dark history in several parts of the city and is one of the most haunted. I saw the Woman in Black at the Castle in the Art Gallery, but has changed , since I was last there
This is l guess the third or fourth video of this town l've watched. My ancestors came from between Norwich and Ipswich, from a place called Shelton. I have been pronouncing the name wrong, but being from Texas l reckon it happens when Americans visit. I didn't realize it was Nor-ridge in British lingo. I would pronounce it Nor-Witch,which is incorrect. I just wonder how Ipswich is pronounced?
@@retinalscar By definition, it hardly feels like a city when compared to the likes of Manchester, Brum, Liverpool etc. Anyway, that wasn’t my point, my point (whilst subjective) was rather that I believe Stratford Upon Avon, per square foot holds the best Tudor buildings in the country.
MJB was shut-down a few years back and yes you chose probably the worst and cheapest hotel group in the City. Do not let it deter you (nor any other reader) from visiting Norwich. Simply use Trip Advisor etc to ensure you select one of the myriad of warm, clean, welcoming hotels / B&Bs to use as your base. Enjoy!
where ever I am in the world going home is going to Norwich

.
Thsnk you that was really interesting. I must visit Strangers Hall.
The best City in the UK.
I stand corrected. Pulls Ferry did operate until 1943. Access to Bishops bridge was controlled by the monks which enabled the ferry to still operate.
nope
very nice content
This was fascinating, Thank you,
Thank You.

Norfolk Constabulary.
Law & Order in town.

Whaaat?
@@blaggercoyote Looking this up, I only see a duchess of Norfolk, no princess. Seems fake.
What a fascinating load of total nonsense .

Are there hills around Norwich?
@@MrMilanoLau Yes, it's an area called Mousehold Heath, you can get a nice view of Norwich from up in that area.
@@margaretr5701 The famous view of Norwich is from St James Hill .

Ipswich is pronounced Ips-wich as you would expect although I cannot guarantee that locals would not pronounce it differently.
Yes i like it
To anyone visiting Norwich and wanting to do some fishing 3:00 New Mills Yard is the spot for you.
I'd say avoid that area altogether. That place is a magnet for the local druggies.
Does one need to have a license to fish there?
@@MrMilanoLau yes
That was a very nice film i am a norwich girl and am proud of our city. But i think there is an older pub in Norwich than Adam and Eve?
Yes, it is called God's Pub!
No one is going to mention Avengers HQ?
The name of the artist was Alberto Giacometti, not Albert Giametti.
Thanks for putting me right
Thats St Peter Hungate not St Michael at Plea.
Thanks for the correction
1841. Not 1943.
and people didn't like the name The Forum, as there was no Roman roots or history in Norwich
...reserved
1894 not 1887.
I think they have the church of Judas Iscariot in Norwich... prison anyway
Stratford Upon Avon is the best in my opinion.
I completely agree.😊
Stratford’s a town, not a city.

Your opinion & facts are two different things
Why be so confrontational, Norwich is a great Medieval City ,Stafford is a great Medieval Town , both worthy of a visit
. I live in Norwich .
Stayed in a mjb group hotel a few year ago in Norwich and it ruined the experience. Worst place ever

I thought this was supposed to be the least religious city in Europe?
I don't know but my granddad always said there was a church for every week of the year and a pub for every day of the week!
I was there when I was in the Air Force, I got laid a lot, but most of the people had bad teeth.
Bet you felt right at home then
