Doing my homework! Hard to believe that 2 years after you posted this video, it's still relevant! I'm glad my partner has been able to come with me to all appointments (masks on). I hadn't thought of wearing masks during labor though. le sigh.
In Poland, the Ministry of Health has banned all partners from being inside the hospital during the baby delivery. Any visitations are banned too. We, pregnant women in Poland, feel alone and scared of being left to ourselves (since our doctor apointments and tests are often cancelled, due to the risk of infection). Polish law guarantees pregnant women a total medical care and possibillity of presence of one close person during the baby delivery as well as the right to receive an epidural. Now the women rights in Poland are violated. Since the begining of April, doctors in Poland can work only in one medical facility, so often there is only one anestesiologist in the whole hospital - if just one person has a surgery, there is no chance of reciving an epidural. Due to lack of midwifes, they just can't look after all the patients throughout their delivery. Before the pandemic, the support, companionship and mild help were provided by a partner. It should be allowed constantly, with all the precausions, especially if the woman and her partner have no symptoms of infection. There were no discurse about ANY precautions or procedures aganst Covid-19 in Poland. Polish government have just forbidded this possibillities in a whole country, where total number of people infected by coronavirus is less than 11000. They are planning to cancel other restrictions soon (such as ban on organization of weddings), they make no plans of cancelling a presidential elections in May, and STILL says that presence of father in a hospital is to dangerous! Please, if you agree, that spouses during childbirths should be allowed again in Poland, sign and share our petition. It surely would help us make our government listen to WHO recommendations. link to our petition: change.org/rodzimyRazem #rodzimyrazem #witajtato #rodzicpoludzku
Id rather not even see a mask while birthing. I like human emotions and to be able to actually see everyone's faces and not dehumanize a very human birthing experience.

I am so sorry to hear about the challenges in Poland. My thoughts go out to the birthing families there.

I agree!
I will absolutly NOT wear one. Inhumane to make someone push a child out wearing that.
It is really unreasonable to ask someone to labor in a mask!
