Don’t use the phone while partner is in labor, unless checking on other family members or pets quickly. Also yelling at partner when she is pushing are great tips!

People think I’m crazy but This is exactly why my husband isn’t allowed in the birth room. He has done every single one of these. The yelling during the pushing caused him to be swiftly kicked out by me. That was eight years and four babies ago. Now, his job is to set up the room, watch the other children, cook the Happy Birthday meal, and then cut the umbilical cord after all is said and done. We kind of joke about it now. I love that he is helpful in other ways. I don’t think men should be present if they aren’t comfortable.
My favorite tip was for the father to simply try out pain strategies on their partner rather than awaiting specific instructions. In my experience this is one of the major shortfalls: Passive men, but it often comes with inexperience or the lack of training (birth preparation). I really love this tutorial and will incorporate your tipps into my conversations with the couples. Regards from Carolin from Switzerland (doula in training)
Childbirth homework! I won't have a dad in my delivery room or a partner... but these tips are helpful for any support person! And gives me good ideas on how to better support myself!!
Thank you! I am really nervous and I just realised I need to study more on how to support my wife since lately our doctor visits I don’t ask many questions and my wife is like why don’t u ask questions..!! I guess I have to start doing it… not sure what to ask.
Very helpful tips. The first tip particularly is something I need to work on. On a usual day, my first meal happens to be around 3pm. So with 6 weeks for my wife to go, I need to change my ways. Other tips are very very helpful. Thanks for sharing

I think you might need to rewatch number 2. I said to try out the strategies that you have learned in class instead of putting the burden on her to tell you what to do. She will be working hard and won’t be able to communicate clearly.
Which of the 5 tips was your favorite?
You do such a great job at these videos and we appreciate it so much!
A sixth one would be, he needs to be very supportive by cooperating well with staff aswell, for example when they communicate with him.
Thank you Chastity!
That is a great one to add Susuilu

Great tips. My partner is due in January. It’s our first. Don’t think she has much faith in me. So I’m doing my research.

Time is usually a far away concept during labor.
I agree that hearing about it or even knowing about it does not help.
