This is great, but my rear Y axis wiper was torn and the only option for replacement from HFO was a complete y-axis cover set. I'm not going to spend $1400 for a $10 piece of rubber. How about some part numbers for these parts replacement seals.
@M1 Machining I haven't pursued it further, but quite friend had the same issue and got the same answer last year. I mentioned it to Haas at IMTS. Got a confused stare.
Way covers on newer machines are really bad compared to older models, for ex. machines from around 2005-2010 or so. On our newest 2020 VF-10 they were completely destroyed in first 200 working hours on a brand new machine.
@@ВладиславПротасевич-р9б yes, newest versions seems to be made from some sort of very cheap plastic, not rubber. So it breakes immediately as plastic is not flexible like rubber is. Anyway, really really disapointed in our newest Haas VF-10
What if brass wipers from sides are damaged? You need to replace hole wiper because is spot welded... And yes, newer wipers are made of plastic and can brake easily or damage waycover while scraping on it.
Yeah, right!? I have a small ding in my rear way cover seal from a chunk of metal that was cut off getting shoved into the seal by the table, and so knowing the beat way to repair that would be a good video.
This is done a lot where someone is machining ceramics or other material where there are fine particles that can get past the wipers, and or damage them.
2005 haas sl-20 have no rubber or plastic at all .. just some flimsy brass shim that gets erased in no time .. and yes.. metal chips and grime will build up inside the machine faster than you can remove it.. its a cesspool of leaked oil and metal debris eating away at the linear guides and ballscrews ..
Glad to see Barbados Slim is doing well

did you ever get an answer or part number. My VF22 needs it repaired but can not get any answers from my HFO

Great, now why does Haas not have wipers available on your website for purchase?

Having trouble finding a similar video for the back way cover.
front one is easy, let see the back one.

Has anyone thought of putting rubber over your way covers just to make sure there’s no chips getting in your linears and balls screws?
Doesn't this look like a engineering fault that you would need to do that?
@@zyndapp800 yes it does, the way covers do a pretty good job but I’ve noticed there still are a ton of chips that get passed them.

I am very disappointed at how cheap these wipers are made. Seems like HAAS is cutting corners where they shouldn't.
