Since Brexit, it's been confusing for us Brits. I have good speaking skills in German, a great level of reading and have taught abroad for 5 years. Have applied for a business English school, but I noticed they state that a European would be preferred ( despite most Europeans having English language as their 2nd language and I'm a native speaker). There seems to be a lack of effort to employ native English persons. So much for Brexit.

Hi, thank you for your question which I am happy to answer. You need a binding job offer to get a work visa that will allow you to travel to Germany and then to start working right away. The alternative is to enter Germany with for example a jobseeker visa and then come to Germany for your job search. Once you have found a job, you can then convert it into a residence permit.

Hi, it really depends on your individual case, e.g. your nationality. But generally I guess you could try to apply for a jobseeker visa or try to find a job from abroad and then apply for a permit.
