Hi Muhammad, unfortunately this means that your degree is not recognized in Germany. If you hold two degrees (for instance and Bachelor and a Master) you could for instance try with the other degree and just use your Bachelor degree.

Hello Pouroush, generally the degree itself must be listed. If your Bachelor's degree is listed and recognized in Germany, you could also try to use it as the basis for your visa or residence permit application instead of the Master's degree - provided it fits your future profession.

I have already received ZAV approval for which my employer had to submit ANABIN printouts (which were accepted). My university is listed as H+ and my degree type is Bachelor's of Art with Honours from the UK which is also listed as comparable, however, my actual degree name is not listed in the ANABIN database. For my visa appointment, it states I need the qualification and university anabin printout. Hi T, usually the exact degree type needs to be listed. However, it's a good sign that you have already received the ZAV approval, which is often helpful to get your visa approved. Hi Udip, that's completely up to the company but if you need to apply for a residence permit for employment, then you need a qualification that is recognized in Germany. Hi, this really depends on the officer handling your application. We've had cases where it was sufficient that the degree is generally listed and others where the embassy requested specifically that the degree needs to be listed under your university. If you want to be on the safe side, then it's probably better to apply for a Statement of Comparability.

Hi Ahmed, it's up to the German authorities to decide if this will be accepted or not. My experience is that it varies a bit on a case by case basis. If you want to be a 100% sure and you are applying for an EU Blue Card and are anyways waiting for a visa appointment, there is a fast track you can use to get a ZAB Statement. Hi Muhammad, unfortunately this means that your degree is not recognized in Germany. If you hold two degrees (for instance and Bachelor and a Master) you could for instance try with the other degree and just use your Bachelor degree.

I am from India. I recently completed my Master of Science at ETH Zurich, Switzerland in Robotics, Systems and Control. I have got an offer from ABB Munich to work in Munich & parallelly do PhD at TU Munich. So I need to apply now for Blue Card Visa to move to Germany. I saw that one of requirements was to submit a document from Anabin database stating that my university & degree are recognised by Germany. I was able to find that ETH Zurich is there in database with H+ certification. The MSc is also the in degree types. However, the specific MSc program I am in is not there in database currently but there are other similar MSc programs. So, as ETH Zurich is a renowned European university with H+, would it be fine if I give university proof and degree type proof in Switzerland's German Embassy?

Hello Pouroush, generally the degree itself must be listed. If your Bachelor's degree is listed and recognized in Germany, you could also try to use it as the basis for your visa or residence permit application instead of the Master's degree - provided it fits your future profession.

I don't know why someone I know from my university that has the same degree as well went through the Statement of Comparability process although there is Entspricht. I think he did this himself, no one asked him to do the recognition. What happens in this case? Should i do the Statement of Comparability or will the Embassy accept the Entspricht?
Hi, if your university is listed with H+ and the degree is classified as entspricht then you are usually good to go and don't need the ZAB Statement.

However I did applied for degree recognition before my Visa appointment, and It came to me about 1 month after I got Visa ^^;;;
FYI, the timeline for certification from ZAB has been delayed a lot recently beacuse huge demand. It took me more than 2 months to get it

I have already received ZAV approval for which my employer had to submit ANABIN printouts (which were accepted).
My university is listed as H+ and my degree type is Bachelor's of Art with Honours from the UK which is also listed as comparable, however, my actual degree name is not listed in the ANABIN database.
For my visa appointment, it states I need the qualification and university anabin printout. Do you think it will suffice if I submit my university and degree type print out without the exact degree title?
Hi T, usually the exact degree type needs to be listed. However, it's a good sign that you have already received the ZAV approval, which is often helpful to get your visa approved. Hi Udip, that's completely up to the company but if you need to apply for a residence permit for employment, then you need a qualification that is recognized in Germany. Hi, this really depends on the officer handling your application. We've had cases where it was sufficient that the degree is generally listed and others where the embassy requested specifically that the degree needs to be listed under your university. If you want to be on the safe side, then it's probably better to apply for a Statement of Comparability.

If you're applying for an EU Blue card, then usually an A3, A4 or A5 classification of your degree is accepted if your university has a validation of H+. Scenario is:
My university is H+
My degree is Bachelors of Science in Computer science which is also available in University Degree section. 'A4'
But I am confused with one thing. In university section when I select my university there is no such degree type available under the degrees section, so i am confused whether the above two mentioned points are enough for the equivalence or the last point must also be there to confirm recognition of degree in Germany.

Hi Ahmed, it's up to the German authorities to decide if this will be accepted or not. My experience is that it varies a bit on a case by case basis. If you want to be a 100% sure and you are applying for an EU Blue Card and are anyways waiting for a visa appointment, there is a fast track you can use to get a ZAB Statement.
