I just bought a FG180 for $60 Canadian. New strings, twiddle the adjustment, polish frets, LOVE THE TONE, I usually play on my Taylor.

I found mine in a dumpster, in great condition. Not damages at all.

I have a 1966 bell cover Yamaha Fg-180 , it's never had to have a neck reset or shaved bridge like the on you have. It's never had a strap button on the neck either. They are very good guitars! Also the Fg-110 , 150, 140, 160. 230. I have them all and they all play very good.

Hi it's Don here from Hamilton NZ on my Wife's tablet-SUSAN, Iv'e just bought one an FG- 180, and though their a laminate/top this one is absolutely amazing ( and I researched the way Yamaha make their laminate/toped guitar's) Very carefully to preserve the best tone possible 😊😊😊

I know im commenting on a 3 yr old video but i recently bought an fg335 maybe at least 50 yrs old with a break in the neck just above the heel. Wasted no time glueing it back together, cleaning it up, putting preslotted tusq nut bone saddle n bone pins n it sounds n plays incredible. I shaved down the bridge to give better break angle as the saddle was disappearing into the bridge after string height adjustment. My first repair job n set up. Lol. Going to stick with the vintage yamahas. Just really the tone im looking for n cheap. Ty. Ill be shopping for an fg180 for my next purchase.

Ithink the sonic response is faster on the 180s, which somehow not undone by the bass strings, I ownded two of them in 73, 125 dolllars each, my best playing. Before i looked at screen i heard and recognized immediately.

Hi, Can I seek your advice please? I just bought a Yamaha FG200 circa1973 (47 years old). The action at 12fret was over 5mm, I reduced it to 2.9mm. However truss rod is barely working. There is slight bow in the neck near the soundhole. Otherwise I am quite happy. I want to ask - As this guitar is old and neck is slightly bent, is it a good idea to loosen strings daily after playing to lessen the tension on the neck? Thank you for your advice. :)

He was the lead singer/songwriter of "men at work" in the 80's.
But now older he does his own solo stuff. You should check out both.
But definitely listen to "waiting for my real life to begin" by him. Then listen to that one set of chords you played in this video.
Very similar so I thought maybe a fan. Btw I own this guitar which is why i searched this. Truly a great acoustic 👍 thanks for sharing and giving it credit
