- Today we are working on a four cycle 4 mix engine on a stihl FS 110, and granted
this procedure could be morphed over to any two-stroke engine and manufacture. the procedures are all the same. - Авто та транспорт
I like to watch a master craftsman at work.
Perfect camera angles for this vid.
It’s funny how many of us have a draw full of little washers, spacers and special home maded tools 😊
And we remember them 😮
Jeremy,,,,putting out good 4 strokes videos,,,,,Hes the best on youtube showing stuff like this,,,,,Thanks
Man u got your stuff together on these weedeater
Thanks for the video, lots of great info!
We learning everyday something new from you Jeremy 😉👍 Thank you!!
GREAT VIDEO BROTHER. Learned a lot
I had been avoiding your videos as I recently lost my workspace, but like an STD I knew I had to be exposed sooner or later. You do good work friend, and from me that's enough, thanks.
You are very professional!! Thank you so much for your knowledge!! Love it !! Keep yourself safe !!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thx you've just shown me the best, simple and easiest way to test a 2 stroke for leaks
You always do a great job 👌👍
Great job Jeremy! I also love making tools, very satisfying and saving money is awesome. Ingenuity is the name of the game, sweet press for the crank seals. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and family.
Great Job Jeremy, nice tool modification too
Thanks Jeremy , I have some real old STIHL equipment with no problems - nice to know the how too process . will save this video ...
Thank you for showing us your technique. The sound distorts really badly when the engines are running though. I love the sound of a 2 cycle.
Excellent video it helped a lot thanks👍
Gosh, is there any substitute for experience and ingenuity! Thank your Jeremy.
I really appreciate all of your video's especially this one. I have a Stihl fs130 it takes about 3 mins to heat up and then it runs with power but the rpms are radical engaging the throttle. With this video I'm going to trouble shoot it for one last time thanks again
Great video. Thanks
Very good MM !
Nice video for finding vacuum leaks. My issue with a BG65 blower I recently acquired, is this. I can get it to start, but as soon as you take the choke off, it'll stall right out. I've found if I start throttling it up while I take the choke off, I can get it up to full throttle and it'll stay there. If you feather the throttle within half to full speed, it'll respond ok. But letting it idle down to less than that results in a stall. Took the low speed screw out, cleaned out the port and screw. Reinstalled and set it to one turn out. Rechecked, but still responds the same. I noticed if I kept backing the screw out to about 2-3 full turns, it would take longer to idle down, but still stall. So I tried spraying carb cleaner around the carb (closest to the intake flange)while I was holding the throttle. And noticed it would run longer, and sometimes stay running, when I let go of the throttle. So I assume it's got a vacuum leak. Was getting darker and colder outside, so I quit for the day. Just wondering if the engines in the BG65 are similar to the trimmer you have. So I can check for leaks from the same areas.
Great video learn a lot that’s the way to do it😊
Thank you for the help!!
Subscribed a few videos back because you are amazing. In the time your video is finished, I may have been able to get out 3 screws :-) You save people lots of money with your talent. You may have shown this in another video, I'm wondering is there a chemical spray that will clean off that grime build up from mowing and triming without penetrating the motor? It would seem the cleaner you can keep the motor the cooler it will run saving some wear and tear in the long run. Your camera angle is great too.
Great tip
Very good master alvaro desde Uruguay
Fascinating.
Will you do a pressure/vacuum test video on the stihl 4mix? I don't see any for the 4 mix on you tube. Thanks and love all your vids. Have helped me out alot.
Awesome my friend 😁
Top advice .
Nice job sir.
Great video I have never needed to replace a seal on one for my four mixes yet but If I do now I know how to. You have a link for the stihl flywheel puller?
I do that a lot. Good tip
Do what?
Very nice video
I call that my poor man's leak down test. Works fast.
i never new how to do it. thanks
Nice tool
Love this guy haha "Finish sending the seal home" guy reminds me of Adam Sandler from HAPPY GIMORE "just tap it in tap it in" 😂😊 hey Jeremy where can I buy one of those rear seal pullers?
Good job bud
Great video once again. What is a ballpark price for repairs and are those seals pretty much standard for all stihl equipment
Thank you
Thanks👍
Just replace both if one leaks because of age 😊
Silicone is great stuff if you follow the instructions and properly install part and then tighten 😊
Thanks for this video. I have a stihl FS100RX that wont stay at idle. I can adjust the carb and it will idle, then rpms come up and wont maintain a steady idle. I suspect I have a seal leak, and now I know an easy way to check/repair it. Do you have a link where I can get the seals? I didnt see them when doing a quick search on amazon.
Awesome
Im checking my stihl blower tomorrow... Do u have a video on that screw driver you were using
Mower medic can you show how to make a seal pulling tool like yours? Thanks
You need to patent that screwdriver design before someone one else thinks of it L.O.L great video
Love the flywheel puller # please 🙏
The meat and potatoes of crankshaft seal replacement on a strimmer!
Good morning. Great job as always. Just quick question. Did you need to remove the cam cover plate? I assume you were making sure the seal on it was not the source of the leak.
This guy is real
how cool is that you should pattern that tool lol
Guy you did a good one today ,make one tool for me,i will pass by one day
Wow you just manhandle those 2/counterfeit 4 strokes . They just give up and runnnnn!
Where did you get the flywheel puller
Great video! Where did you get that awesome flywheel puller? How can we get one? Thanks for all your great content!
Stihl flywheel puller universal

@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 Thanks, I appreciate your fast reply and the tool info.
Great little tool you made there but was there a reason why you didn't use thread lock on cam plate screws?
Screw heads are serrated. No thread lock from factory. Not needed
Main bearings goin bad can cause seals to go out too, replacing the seals would just be throwing money at it, try to wiggle the starter cup and see if you have up and down/ in and out play if you do it needs bearings,a tip for you do it yourselfers.
Bearings are fine. Seals failed due to overheating and crystallized the rubber lip
Where can I get a flywheel puller like that? Thanks
Where to buy that puller
Thank you
Haven’t watched the video yet, but Jeremy do you have any kind of handle on when seals generally wear out? Operating hours or maybe age of the machine or any other parameters?
There no predetermined time for when
Seals go
Out
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 SAS! Qqqqq
Straight to the meat and potatoes 😂
Hi Jeremy what type of sealant did you use on the cover and can that same sealant be used when you seal the case halves together?
amzn.to/477e68E
GREAT TUTORIAL!! Expertise is so invigorating to observe. Thanks Sir. BTW, where did you get that crankshaft seal puller and installer??
I made them
Mower medic you should make those screwdrivers and sell them on your online store so I and others can buy one and know it's right instead of making it myself if you do make a video on them so I know too go buy one
Looks like there was a piece of silicone that fell into the crankcase and was not cleaned out. And the seal was installed trapping it inside.
Could be, I’ve seen sealant get between spark plug electrodes from factory
MowerMedic will this work on a lawnmower, got a customer that brought me a lawnmower that running wide open and the customer said he thought it was the crankcase seal due to the lawnmower hit something hard
A lawn mower usually has a governor which controls the speed of the engine, if it is running wide open after a hit you should start by resetting the governor in case ot slipped due to the hit and also verify the throttle linkage is not binding
@@imanolberecibar thank you I’m just out of Small Engine Repair Class and very new at this
I need to check my chainsaw like that
If these seals are leaking that means can the machine have severe starting problems is that true?
To check the seal
My auto shop used propane to locate my intake leak. I found out the wd40 works great.
Wd40 like the new formula of it? That doesn't combust.
Could be ok for vacuum leaks tho, never tried it.
You should clean the spark arrestor is almost completely clogged
Negative. It’s 100% clean
The hack
Hi mate I change both crank seals on my equipment as you know Sod’s law will come and bite my ass if I didn’t the other eventually will leak
Take the spark arrester screen off while your at it !
And cause a forest fire? No thanks
Disgraceful... you need to clean up that grime/oil/grease before removing those seals... bad practice.
Hello Jeremy!Do you know does stihl have a specific tool for pressing rubber seals?
Awesome
