Uber, and Lyft joined with a country that pays their workers 5 cents a day, came in saying were getting paid to much, and started taking most of our hard earned money. We do all of the work. It shouldn’t take 5 hours to make $100 doing all of that driving. We need another company to step in, pay the drivers what they’re worth.
They are all the same
There are several companies coming out with their own rideshare app. Wridz is one that will give their drivers 100% commission.
@@Ggg496WRIDZ is much different
When the risks are high and people are ignorant of it. I support regulation.
When private companies sell their proverbial soul to go public they no longer run that company as shareholders now own it and ALL the profits. CORPORATE GREED at its finest.
My acceptance rate is 3 % .I guess I will be standard for life
😂👍🏽
Why so high?
More BS, if they just paid a fair wage this wouldn’t be a thing.
We don’t get wages. We get a cut we’re independent contractors
Keep telling yourself that
Don't drive if it bothers you so much
Troll
Lets be honest. I doubt they will boost by 5%. More than likely they will reduce the fare by 5% for drivers. This feels like a punishment more than a benefit, especially with how bad the offers have been lately. Uber has continually given me shit offers on Uber Eats and the Uber is hit or miss. I'm talking 2-4$ for 5-20 miles of driving.
Yes, this absolutely feels like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum because they aren’t getting their way.
My service fees have gone from under 20% to 22.4% in two weeks. Exactly enough to zero out every tip I get.
The laundry list of charges they list that make up the service charge sounds like the exact same list they use to justify their take rates.
I think they are trying to purge anyone who is left who isn’t willing to settle for this nonsense.
They want a compliant supply of labor that is used to working for nothing, will do as they are told and won’t make waves. And right now they have millions of warm bodies to choose from.
Race to the bottom.
They won’t post advantage an additional 5% they will pay standard 5% less.
Sounds good to me. Either way, Advantage drivers get paid more.
@@WaltDittrich
How do you figure? You still get paid at the same rate today which is a third less than what we made five years ago.
There is no 5% pay increase and even on a best day if there was it would be what $15
Hey 5% more means; let’s say I get a $3 dollar real short ride; with advantage mode I will be making 0.15 cents more??? While Uber still charging to the rider 8 to 11 dollars?? Still sounds like garbage, isn’t??🤔
@@rustyg.7143 no. You still get $3.00 the standard driver gets paid $2.85 . You make an additional 5% vs the standard driver but you will not make an additional 5%.
They can spin it however they like. The whole operation still lurks behind whatever financial hocus pocus and tomfuckery they’ve got going with take rates, skimming, shaving, insurance manipulation and service charges that are completely arbitrary and opaque.
I think the entire legion of Uber drivers needs to adopt Billy Preston’s tune Nothing From Nothing as our official anthem and walk-on music.
“Nothing from nothing leaves nothing and you gotta have something if you want to be with me.”
I only drive part time anyway. I'm going to use this to my advantage 😊 Wait for surge pricing before going online!
The problem with promising 5%* more is more than what?! They arbitrarily set the prices. How can we verify this ethereal 5% more?
They can easily pay drivers less upfront then make drivers more work to chase for that 5% but they will take more and more and in the end they make drivers feels good that they got 5% 😂. Just like they do with surge. Lower the fare pay and make drivers feel that they got paid surge 😂. Its just making drivers fool thats all because they do not want to pay the drivers more but want to make them more work thats the bottom line. Many innocent drivers will fall for it thats sad.
Exactly. Every one of their “lightbulb” moments involves drivers being forced to chase a carrot we can’t see and accept their assurances that it’s an improvement.
All these new rules/oversight sound like something that would apply to employees.
Nah. One doesn't have to follow the new guidelines, but if they do, they have the potential to earn more.
@@WaltDittrichLmao, the programing you have.
So an advantage mode I get 5% more. So if I do $100 ride, I only get five dollars more. That’s not really a advantage.. so hypothetically if you drive a Prius and you go 100 miles. That’s roughly 2 gallons of gas or more. Now that five dollar advantage in southern California gas prices doesn’t even cover 1 gallon.
I don't know, when they took away that fuel surcharge a couple years ago, drivers were pretty upset.
It’s a pay cut update just like dd tier system
11:49 I’m curious how the CMT will work when Uber has one speed limit in the app that is lower than the actual posted speed limit for that roadway. I have two streets in my area that I know are misrecorded on the app.
Yes!!!!!
Yup same here
Same where I live
Consumer Reports did a full report on CMT a few years ago. The insurance companies spun it as a way to save on your insurance bill.
The reality is, less than 50% of people who installed it saved money. Most paid significantly more.
Many of the factors they measure-braking, acceleration, cornering are completely at the discretion of the insurance company and not transparent. What are the thresholds for hard braking, aggressive acceleration or fast cornering? Drivers don’t know.
Factors that sound harmless like time of day were used to discriminate against third shift workers as it was determined that was a more dangerous time to drive- so they were charged more.
These things monitor your car and your behavior 24/7/365 and they retain the data for years and often sell it to others.
If you value your privacy at all, NEVER put a device like this in your car and make sure you disable monitoring functions on your phone like accelerometers that allow it to track your movements and speed.
These are often hidden as wellness or fitness measures on your phone or in fitness apps.
The chances of Uber and/or insurance companies using the information these devices provide to benefit you are slim and the risks are huge.
and non existent stop signs. The app shows them but there are none on the street.
Honestly, there is no ADVANTAGE to ADVANTAGE MODE. They are still going to shave money off the trips. The more you make the more they take.
Factzzzz
EXACTLY
Advanced mode is not worth it, they’re going tomake you take bad rides for the 5%. The insurance thing is just the 3rd gap they are going to use to make more money the other 2 being charging passengers more and paying drivers less.
Just the fact that there pulling this shit should be a red flag that there not paying us fairly or our acceptance rates would be higher. And the way there system is set up accedently accepting rides is common so the result is higher cancelation rate
5% more than what, Chris? What THEY say is standard? HORSE SHIT!
Speeding can mean different things. I hope 5 miles over isn't speeding cause it's nearly impossible to do speed limit in Seattle and not piss everyone off behind you
Not to mention states like arizona where you can be ticketed for not speeding if you are not keeping up with the flow of traffic.
@@DriveandThrive Avoid those things at all costs. It’s like volunteering for 24/7/365 surveillance.
Driving with traffic at 70mph in a 55 zone is far more safe than driving 55 in traffic doing 70.
Key words: "cancel less" as they realize that drivers are opting out of taking low ball rides, share rides and crappy fees. So they will penalize those that are choosy on rides.
Uber will realise on the long run that most of the drivers are standard mode because of the payout.
Should be base $10 plus $1 per mile up to 10 miles $2 per mile from 11-20 miles and up exponentially every 10 miles after that.
Would you recommend Captain chairs or standard three-seater second row for SUV Black?
Captain chair
Do you recommend Captain chairs in Uber Black SUV or should I find regular 3-seater 2nd row?
You are loosing a spot with captain. Its easier to get to third row. But most SUVs are really easy to fold the seat to access the third row if necessary. I recommend bench seat. 8 passenger to maximize space and seats for luggage or passengers or both
Ugh, yes Uber please sell our driving data to insurance companies!!!
I heard Mass. just got 32 an hr.
on a 10$ ride, we would get what, 50 cents more? WTF is this bull$%^?!
Really the problem I see is the trip radar request I turn down is higher than the "exclusive" request I turned down again
Hopefully they fix the “harsh breaking” from previous drivers insight. Uber has never actually given any solid explanation of what harsh breaking was…I have had one here and one there and nothing really stands out as any difference. Hopefully it is tweaked to make sense, stopping when a light turns yellow instead of speeding up and stopping at a normal acceptable rate shouldn’t be harsh breaking, Uber has never said what equals HB.
The only part that concerns me is no more exclusive offers at airport queues.
Is this even legal to pay someone less money because we refuse to accept an offer that both parties do not agree to the terms of the contract (upfront fare offer). I thought we were independent contractors and can make decisions on what job to accept or not accept without any ramifications.
That's Just Uber way of Punishing for not doing what they want. " Do as we say and Be Advantage If Not You can Just Be Standard " that's what they're basically Saying. they're promising Extra for those that play their Game but in all Reality they will not pay. Why ? Because they already have that Image and Reputation. Uber / Lyft Are a Joke Now. Driver's are at a 100% Risk From Fatality Car accidents or Dangerous Passengers Everytime they go out to drive and to be treated like Trash. No Thank You !
Hey Chris!
Hope youre doing well!🎉❤ Very informative video on these 2 new modes!🎉❤ Curious how it pans out!🎉❤ May all your shifts be profitable and stay safe always!🎉❤
Can you tell me how that performance surveillance works? Will they be able to check my performance when I don’t have a customer in the car? Will they be reading me on that also?
@@watcherlady8089 Count on it. Consumer Reports did an entire story on those devices on October 7, 2021. They are not your friend.
@@watcherlady8089 I guess someone on here doesn’t want you to know because they keep deleting my answer to you.
What is the "Trip Radar"? Here we have just one way of getting rides. Did not know there was a difference
This is because drivers are getting smart and declining those ridiculous low offers
Uber drivers should be paying Uber and Lyft for the opportunity. At this point you might as well bring back normal cab companies.I actually like the idea of Wridz. Any feedback on them?
5% more is like 30 cents more on the trips we are getting. I assure you it’s not going to be an advantage
So mad with Uber right now. They deactivated me for low ratings even though customers have complimented me and now I have to PAY for a driving course 7X7 Experience course. Now Uber wants me to pay up to drive. What a scam. They should pay me through my fares and deliveries as I don't make that much money as it is.
There's no containing commercial insurance prices. Because of the litigious society we live in every time a commercial vehicle is in an accident everybody involved is injured and can never work again. Lawsuits go for tens of millions of dollars and the jury almost always decides that the person is entitled to whatever because the company can afford it.
4:24 should I hope to see upfront fares in my area?
great break-down on this Chris!
How can they get away with this? We are NOT Employees!
Maybe they should introduce pay drivers fairly mode, not the current so little they'll revolt mode.
I've been sitting at a 4.84 for the last 200 rides... I couldn't get up into comfort or anything else like renting a Tesla to try out. Between that and the theft of tips end the obscene chunk that they take I'm done
So... Wage discrimination by any other name. They have been doing this all along here in Houston now they're just giving it a name that is not "wage discrimination."
This is another tactic they use! 5%=.05cent on every dollar not incentivized enough for me!
Uber advantage still wants me to take a 15 min drive to pick up a 4 dollar ride
Is driving score based on “online driving “ only?
@@RayJ.JohnsonJr My son got conned into installing one with bs about lower rates. Those things are recording everything that car does 24/7/365. His rates doubled.
why am I not surprised? It's not in my market yet (SW Missouri).
The positive side of this makes sense as you're saying it, but as with anything that Uber does there's always a downside for the drivers. I don't believe this is much about lowering the insurance rates or anything else as it is a way to provide an incentive for drivers to take more garbage runs and punish those that don't. They don't like the cherry pickers, but with three and $4 rides being the average that pops up is really no point to doing this if you don't cherry pick. You just wasting money on gas and expenses for nothing. That being said I hope the positive side is true, but I doubt it.
5% really isn't that much if you do the math. Check your current rides & now add the 5% into it. How much more do you really make?
It sucks...I use a Cup Holder Telescoping Device to secure my phones 100% of the time. But customers were often bumping into them and breaking them . $25 each became a problem. So I began SOFT Mounting them by wrapping a Wash Cloth at the base. This makes the mount very loose and if bumped they just move so easy they don't break ....
Big problem they move around a lot and real easy.
Lyft already does a ' Cruiser Report' and I always rate in the bottom 25% and they claim I only have my phones mounted 50% OR LESS....
Thus the system is seriously flawed....MY PHONE IS NEVER HAND HELD and ALWAYS MOUNTED.
Welcome to another Uber game. If they paid good AR would not be an issue
This applies to UberX only - i.e., ants and pigeons. It could bring lawsuits due to further misclassification of ICs. Uber's coercion tactics will destroy them.
Sounds like the start to Uber allowing Advantaged drivers to drive anytime, but Standard drivers may have to start scheduling months down the line... That, or Advantaged drivers will be the ONLY ones to get "exclusive" offers (only sent to them), but Standard drivers will ALL have to fight for Trip Radars when they are made available. Time shall tell.
Do we really think Uber is going to pass on commercial insurance savings to us ? 🤦♂️
@@ronrivas1453 🤣 N O. But I guess they have us all pegged as a gullible bunch.
It tells us now but when is it starting ?
It has in some markets. There are people complaining already in Facebook driver groups.
So you join the airport Queue only to get trip radar offers all day. that erxplains why i was at the airport the other day and didnt get a single trip on XL for over 12 hours.
I tried to get my toll money back the other day from Uber. They gave me the directions to go that way but since a customer was t I. The car with me , I can’t get my money back. SMH only going get me once like that .
5%, what a joke. I can decide to accept one more trip before calling it a day to even that out.....smh
Nothing matters unless they provide 100% transparency. Also this is nothing more than employee/employer tactics to force drivers to take bullshit fares.
Anybody that wants to parrot Uber claiming they're going to pay 5% more is just a corporate schill. At this point it's time to contact your local representatives and just do the same thing they did in Minnesota and Massachusetts. Uber execs are too rich to actually work for their own company. They want to play the leverage game, then we'll play the leverage game.
What they'll do, like now, is send you multiple bs low pay trips back to back to lower those percentages fast. That way you'll have to climb back and it may take a longer time, which they don't mind paying every other 10th driver vs every 2 drivers
I’m doing fine on everything except acceptance rate. 6% won’t get it done I guess.
If you look into it truck drivers make under a $1.oo a mile so if you think about it we are being paid almost like truck drivers
Lyft and Uber start these new programs cause their a great way to keep drivers guessing. We all have accepted rides to see if they will throw us more money if we had a 80 to 100% a t that day
They don't. Learn from your past mistakes? I accepted every ride. And in 12 hours I make $108 on Uber. On Lyft I made a little over 200. But when I did the math I really only made $7 or 8 a hour.
It sucks...I use a Cup Holder Telescoping Device to secure my phones 100t. of the time.
See we aren’t 1099 it seems we’re employed by Uber ! If we are independent we wouldn’t be controlled
After taking a lot of drivers money, they making drivers work to get back a fraction of it
Here we see $4 for 14km, excluding driving to pickup, labelled exclusive. That's crazy.
Exclusive literally just means the offer is exclusive to your eyes to accept or deny before it is sent onwards to someone else. Basically, it's anything but a Trip Radar.
Easy fix, for those so unhappy....done drive.....go to walmart, they are always hiring
You sitting in the middle make me uncomfortable. God bless you! 😊
Instead of raising pax rates how about lowering your greedy 50-70%take.
Knowing uber, they will just lower fares across the board at least 5% soon after this rolls out.
If you are in an upfront market they constantly do this already since they can attach any amount they want to a ride.
The five (5) start rating takes care of all that driving nonsenses.
This is just begging for a class action lawsuit for violating independent contractor rights. Uber can't offer this perk without penalizing drivers who don't meet Uber's acceptance rates.
Drivers keep driving ..... pay will go lower. Uber isn't the problem. Drivers are the problem. Desperate people are Ubers driver of choice. They work for little to nothing. 🎉🎉🎉 as long as drivers drive . It's Ubers' job to take more profits.
5% more . Then we will be making $3.10 :)
I saw it in New Orleans for a day.
I will stay a independent contractor.
Standard mode for life!
so basically you will make 5% "more" by forcing you to take rides that are 20%+ less than they should be.😂😂😂😂😂
Another trick to not pay all drivers the minimum wage they deserve.
Uber will not share any savings. Just like your groceries, we have accepted the higher prices.
They always find a way to to confuse and use advantage of novice riders.
Turbo mode, advantage mode,challenge,quest,rematch,3 rides in a zone, pink area, boost, boost plus, surge, it is all psychological games to trick dumb drivers into thinking they are making more $$, in fact it is to use drivers to make Uber and Lyft richer, but only a few drivers undertand it.
5% above guaranteed minimum wage earnings! 🤣The games never end! They are pitching nickels at you for Advantage. Wow thanks for a few more nickels!
It’s only $5 more per $100
Every one keep less than 2% AC so this will not work and for DARA and Risher both can S my D.
It looks like kakashani is building his own concentration camp, like a Hitler. Just work, work, work, brake for 6 hours rest and then again work, work, work. A step to the right step to the left is considered an escape and is punishable by execution. I guess he was traumatized in his childhood by someone and now trying to get even with everybody.
This will be a fail!
Drivers will not jump through hoops for 5%.
More which is nothing after taking all the low fares😂😅
Before this launch or the announcement of this launch. I get exclusive rides already. You know when it says it right next to what type of ride the consumer picked. I always checked the rating of the passenger. Almost all of them have a really low rating, which cracks me up when it says priority. Or exclusive. This is another joke from a corporation.
@@theczar6171 What does the term “exclusive” even mean in this context? They bastardize the English language so much-assigning words that actually mean something to things that don’t mean what they are called. They just make sh*t up. I miss my old job working with real companies that employed competent people who knew how to run a business.
@@psaint60 I have no clue. On my app I’ll get a ride request. And next to what they ordered for a car. I will get different words next to it. Corporate. Business class. Exclusive. No clue why next to comfort will have these different words. And to top it off when I ask a consumer. They have no idea, they just ordered a car.
@@theczar6171 Oh, I’m sure we’re supposed to see those words and feel some kind of way about it. I really do get the sense that they think they are talking to a bunch of people that just got off the small bus. Never seen anything like it.
Are you sitting on the stick shift😅
Lyft priority mode 😂😂😂😂
Every week Uber & Lyft come out with new contest and confused drivers why don't they make it simple so drivers eyes focus on Point A to Point B we are sick& tired of lollipop skim.
It’s another scheme or stunt to make you drive more.
Columbus....OH?
Uber makes money on the back end with stock in the insurance company they contract with. Rates go up....Uber makes more money. You make less.🎉
It's just a way of controlling drivers.
The fact that they keep changing the rules around to entice drivers to accept more rides is telling of their business model. They knew they were going to disgruntle the drivers when they went public and cut drivers pay to pay their investors. I''m all about the company making their profits as well, but to the tune of $1.2 billion just blows my mind. Drivers recognize the shaft their taking while Dara laughts his fat a$$ off with his $24million salary. Keep rejecting those rides that make no sense even if its $18 for a ride that takes you 50 minutes to complete. This only shows Uber is trying to play with drivers in making them feel special, in other words separate and divide so one feels superior over the other because his in Advantage mode. C'mon man.
stupid, promp 22 says you need to pay me. IN CA, dont matter, you ain't making much, just using you not to pay prop 22
