Great news! I think we are all relieved for you Paul. Nice that the biggest hurdle is now out of the way. Fingers crossed the rest of the build goes smoothly 🙏 🤞
Nice to see you pop up here Nathan. You are right - these electric cars are a nightmare and will cost owners a fortune outside of warranty. I won’t buy one anytime soon. Great video Paul and your tenacity with Baz was something to behold.
This was a very epic feature length film style vlog , and it was brilliant news you got those wheels turning despite those endless error codes. Well done...so much perseverance ...
Congratulations👍🏼 I’m seriously impressed by your skill and at the same time saddened by the extent the dealers go through to lock down their cars, making home repairs almost impossible.
Nice one, I know that excitement when the wheels spin having done a DIY EV conversion, ear to ear grin. Looking forward to seeing it roll under its own power.
Please don't give up on the EV rebuilds! I've enjoyed your ICE rebuilds but I have learnt more from your EV projects and it has been really interesting to see how the vehicles differ from traditional cars. I would love to see an eKona or eNero build or how about a Mercedes EQA? I see that there are now some cheap Porsche Taycans coming up for sale at auction, now that would be an interesting project.
You did it! Still need to know a professional to get the right crash codes removed. That could be a video by itself (what software, what buttons to click, etc. ).
What software version is t your car on? I've just had mine updated to version 3.2 from version 2.4 by VW. It has helped immensely with charging as octopus io tariff can now see the car but the new update detects more errors and issues that the previous software version couldn't see. It's recommended to get these cars on version 3.2 as the previous software was almost beta like with bug issues. You're making great progress, although after watching what your going through, I'm tempted to chop mine in for a petrol or diesel car, I don't like the idea of all those locked out components.
So was the fault caused by the bonnet being open? I know that some cars kick you out of gear when doors are open but I see you managed to get it to work with your door open.
Good morning Paul, I am in Spain repairing a Seat Cupra Born with the same serious accident problem recorded in the control units. I hope that Odis online will help me to get it back to life and be able to enjoy the car. Can I contact you in some way? Greetings and thanks for your contribution.
I was about to say the same thing i won't release because it's safe to feature whenever the door is open or the boot or the bonnet is open I've got electric car and mine does the same 100%
With all the technology in these cars fixing the will become next to impossible aka financially unviable... Insurance premiums will go up and they will be one use only
How on earth are these vehicles sustainable? Not only do they deplete the earth of extraordinarily expensive materials without rewarding the countries of origin, but they are completely unrepairable or restorable. I have a 40 year old VW van that could be run on corn oil, steam, or a horse.
Hi Paul . I have the same problem on my ID.3 right now . Can you please explain what you have erased before car started to drive . have watched video 4 times , but still cant understand main problem . Hope you will answer me 🙈 Thank you
@@gennadijdmitrijev3122 I used a company called vag coding specialist to do the work as he has access to the latest version of Odis and does the work remotely, you just need to buy the dongle which he will tell you where to get it from
@@CarsForPaul My car is in local workshop now , and the guy who have ODIS can't erase this error . He told me that maybe he have an old version of ODIS , that's why he can't erase it . Tomorrow we will try to use a new Version of ODIS , and will see . When my problem will be fixed will write some update here , maybe it will help to someone in future . Thank you
@@gennadijdmitrijev3122 he will need to use the online version of Odis as the car needs to talk to the vw server to get authorised to remove the crash code, you can’t do it with the offline version hence why I used vag coding to do the work for me
This is a perfect advert for people not buying electric vehicles, over complicated, overrated and over here imagine if your cars damaged how long would it take a repair garage to repair it. Thanks but no thanks I will stick to my ICE car.
Overcomplicated? Have you seen the moving parts, systems, sensors and wiring on a modern ICE vehicle. EV's are less user serviceable because there's nothing to service on them.
@@sparkymark75 Yes they are complicated but there are garages that can repair them in every town/city, one brand I can't remember which their are only 6 approved EV repairers in the UK so image if something goes wrong and your car doesn't move and you have to have it recovered 150 miles before they even look at it, I'm not a EV hater but this moving to EV's hasn't been thought through and it's not cheap to charge vehicle from public chargers as it was in the past with road tax coming for EV's it's going to be more expensive than ICE cars to run you can see it coming.
thankyou Paul,,wow what a result,,and a brilliant upload, this was so interesting in how technical these new ev,s are now,and you explain it all so clearly,👌🦾👍
Great news! I think we are all relieved for you Paul. Nice that the biggest hurdle is now out of the way. Fingers crossed the rest of the build goes smoothly 🙏 🤞
I think you need to shut the door And put your seat belt on Forgetting these new cars have a lot of safety features
100% these are a nightmare u have to be sitting in drivers seat door shut but no seat belt tho
Big shout out to the chap that helped you out.
Great result paul and I definitely think I’ll leave electric rebuilds to you 😂
Nice to see you pop up here Nathan. You are right - these electric cars are a nightmare and will cost owners a fortune outside of warranty. I won’t buy one anytime soon. Great video Paul and your tenacity with Baz was something to behold.
Great Paul.Nearly there. For the minute I thought it would'nt go into READY and get traction because of the rear air bags .I was wrong.
Yes, Paul, buzzing for you, perseverance pays off
This was a very epic feature length film style vlog , and it was brilliant news you got those wheels turning despite those endless error codes. Well done...so much perseverance ...
Glad you enjoyed it
So glad I’ve got a basic, mechanical car. All of these electrical systems pinging and throwing up alerts all the time would p*$$ me right off.
If that was my car I couldn't feel happier. Well done Paul, you're almost there.
This is great news pal! Well done, never say never though buddy 😊
Well done Paul , it’s great to see you getting one over on technology, they really don’t want us to fix our own cars , nice one mate.
I felt the excitement from you, your determination came through 🎉
Paul I was dancing on my chair at that point😂 persistent over come residence well done your the most patient person on the planet😂
Many thanks
Epic Moment indeed 😊,you definitely owe Baz a good drink, there is light now at the end of the tunnel Paul 👍😉💪
Absolutely
You got a like just for that face when it worked 😂😂😂😂😂. Pleased for you that it's work 👍👍
Well done Paul,I really had my reservations!!
This whole saga was Epic! Well Done Paul 🎉 now onwards and upwards !
Congratulations👍🏼 I’m seriously impressed by your skill and at the same time saddened by the extent the dealers go through to lock down their cars, making home repairs almost impossible.
In the case of EV’s it’s understandable though, they already have a bad rep without any old Tom, Dick or Harry “fixing” them.
Thanks 👍
Wow. Nothing short of amazing! Nice one!
Great job So happy for you Paul !!!!
One to mothball for a couple of years and then bring out when more people are around to help

Great work - I had an accident in our iD3 and it took 6 months to get put back together

Hi Paul,
How is the ID3 going is everything fine after just changing the pyro fuse or did you have to change the BCM as well
nope, just the pyro, and its going just fine
