Great price but there is of course the value of your time and expertise. As I own an ID.3 1st Edition this has been really beneficial for me to learn about how my car is put together. It will help me doing my own repairs and maintenance though I have absolutely no plans to touch any of the high voltage stuff. Thanks for your time and effort. Roll on the next project. 👍
Rear where you pointed out the damage you covered up and the shade variation on rear quarter wouuld not be good enough wish you would do it properly like salvage rebuilds uk chris and rob would not let that be finished like that
Great work Paul but why not have the painter blend the new paint into the rear panel and the rear door so the mismatch in colour is hidden. I have just had the same panel done that way and you can't tell it has been painted.
Great job Paul but i would have had a spray can mixed to the same colour and painted all the black area also you should have blended the back door then you would not notice the difference in shade. when you come to sell this eventually people will try to reduce the price a lot for something that cost very little. other a good job.
That colour difference stands out a mile! When you’ve gone to the lengths you have, I don’t know why you haven’t gone the extra 5yds and finished it properly. 🤯
14k pounds is a good deal. I bought my id.4 Pro S just around $14.5k in USA. i fixed it and drove within 3 weeks. I did like the videos you made fixing it. Keep it up.
Great work, like you say saving £7000 on a similar vehicle, plus saving on the running costs compared to the S3, its a win win, your missus will love it.
Great work Paul it looks great & definitely a good bargain, I've loved watching this restoration from the start & at first thought you're barking mad 😀 wanting to take on all the computer challenges that come with electric cars. You must have learned a heap getting all the modules to talk to one another, It's been nail biting at times with the problems that arose but you got them sorted. Kudos Sir. When you doing another BEV? 😄
Very pleasing conclusion to a long and complicated haul there Paul. Great insight into the internals and workings of an ID3. So many parts involved but not visible when the car is assembled. I think you've done really well to overcome all the problems that working on the car brought up. 👍
Paul brilliant brilliant job your wife will love it. Nice saving and nice you have done it mainly yourself. The S3 be a sad day to see that go. Keep up the hard work and entertaining us. My Monday highlight
Nice work, enjoyed the series. Would have preferred you to break down the cost of individual parts (curiosity to see how much they were). I'd be interested on your view of how much a cat s/n repaired vehicle reduces the sale price compared to an undamanged car?
Really enjoyed this series. As an ID3 owner it was very interesting but hopefully I’ll never need to do anything like this. It’s worth fitting the reversing camera though, any reason you didn’t ?
Great content! However you did ask re price to complete.... I have been dealing with EV's for years and I purchased a ID 3 Pro Performance Spec- 2021 21 with 80k miles for £13,000... Yep the miles are high but a 1 owner car that's ready to retail and HPi clear! Your content and work effort is 100% but.... Sadly the ID3's are making way lower than book value at all car auctions so is it really worth buying a damaged one and putting all your effort in? Keep the great work up!
Cracking job Paul you should be well pleased with the outcome👍 I’ve really enjoyed the last few weeks and watching the progress of the car, well done mate.
Hi Paul. Great series. I have a question: Did You manage to make it run with original J840 Battery Regulation Control Module or did You replaced it ? So, the pyro was the only thing replaced in battery module or You had to replace the regulator also ?
thankyou Paul an excellent conclusion to a brilliant and complex project, im sure everyday has been a schoolday on this one,.👍👏👏.and I dread to think how much the labour costs would of been on top of that £14.500,,,😰😨😰
Have you checked how much the insurance is on this car as mine as just doubled in price not cheap anymore yet another down fall to electric cars 😂 great job Paul you got there in the end👏👏🐸👍
I'm sure u didn't fit the rear boot vent on the drivers rear boot area (bottom panel ur replaced). Will let water in, not ideal as electrics will get wet.
All right, all good, nice job But you forgot to add your work hours, how many hours? What's the price of that? If you include it, a final price would be bad enough to scrap the vehicle.....if you add it, I dont think that calculation would be so pleasant. Like anyway
Comparing the value of a car with no crash history to one with is unrealistic. You never answered my question from the last video about the category because with that damage i would assume it was cat s? Even though the car is younger than 3 years old does it not need an MOT before it goes on the road? Cos in the last viseo it certainly wasn't taxed when you were driving it on the road.
Is it just me or does the rear bumper look a little misalgined to the rear three quarter panel? that together with the mismatched paint would drive my OCD nuts 🤣Regarding the savings, I think you have to calculate this against another ID3 of the same type that has a cat marker and then see the difference, no point comparing it to a 'proper' car since you will never get that for yours. Still probably cheap though.
The cheapest I could find for my model id3 was £18k plus mind is highly specked with £3.5k of extras, leaving that aside, that’s still a £4k saving for a car I do not plan to sell
Yes but yours has been crashed so worth 20% less and how many hours have you spent fixing and sourcing parts which has a cost. If the car is for you to keep price doesn't matter or Porsche wouldn't be able to sell Taycan's who's prices are falling £2k a month. @@CarsForPaul
Cut a few corners at the end Paul it’s a shame
Great price but there is of course the value of your time and expertise.

I agree. Great job Paul, excellent wok, however, in order to get the actual cost of the restoration he has to include a cost for his time.
Rear where you pointed out the damage you covered up and the shade variation on rear quarter wouuld not be good enough wish you would do it properly like salvage rebuilds uk chris and rob would not let that be finished like that
Agreed!
Great work Paul but why not have the painter blend the new paint into the rear panel and the rear door so the mismatch in colour is hidden. I have just had the same panel done that way and you can't tell it has been painted.
I'd have base coated the light panel too.
Great job Paul but i would have had a spray can mixed to the same colour and painted all the black area also you should have blended the back door then you would not notice the difference in shade. when you come to sell this eventually people will try to reduce the price a lot for something that cost very little. other a good job.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the rebuild from start to finish. Well done Paul.
That colour difference stands out a mile! When you’ve gone to the lengths you have, I don’t know why you haven’t gone the extra 5yds and finished it properly. 🤯
I couldn't agree more!!!

Great result. I admire your tenacity and for being a vanguard in the pioneering EV Salvage category on UA-cam! Well done, Paul!
Well done Paul Looking forward to your next project

Entertainment value it was priceless... But for everything else you saved 7K😂😂
I’d be more than happy with this Paul, well done fella superb work.

Well done, good job. I'm thinking of doing something similar for my wife.
Paul brilliant brilliant job your wife will love it. Nice saving and nice you have done it mainly yourself. The S3 be a sad day to see that go. Keep up the hard work and entertaining us. My Monday highlight
great work again Paul, congrats,, would have liked to see inside as its all finished , congrats again
Nice job Paul, very entertaining.
You've done a great job paul 👏
This was a great watch and very good workman ship and tenacity
Wonderful job Paul, very impressed.

Nice job mate. Will buy one with the big battery
Well done looks amazing, I bet your wife is excited to have her own electric car and what a nice car it is congrats Paul 👌
Great work Paul, loved watching this one and how you solved the various problems x
Glad you enjoyed it

in hindsight, no, this build wasn't worth it from a cost perspective, but the knowledge gained from putting it together is priceless
Great job! Great value! Congratulations.
I think it was a bargain Paul. Great job.
Good work Paul,
Cracking job Paul you should be well pleased with the outcome👍 I’ve really enjoyed the last few weeks and watching the progress of the car, well done mate.
Thanks 👍
That's a great result. Well done mate.
Thanks 👍
Great job Paul. I’d happily buy that if you ever sold it on. 👏🏼👏🏼
Well done Paul congratulations job well done 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽
Looks a lovely job well done
nice job paul, when when batteries expire i dread to think. whereas petrol new engine and good to go again
Really enjoyed the id3 build Paul

It's been a great video series. Just goes to show you can work on EVs at home without instant death
...at the end of the day - you got the car for the price of the battery pack (via salvage) - so just enjoy the car between you & your wife! 👍👍👍
If the Wife is happy. Your Happy. (by default) 😁😁
indeed
Not a bad saving but a lot of man hours. However as a hobby you got to know your car, virtually inside out, result!
All right, all good, nice job
But you forgot to add your work hours, how many hours? What's the price of that? If you include it, a final price would be bad enough to scrap the vehicle.....if you add it, I dont think that calculation would be so pleasant.

Well done m8 looks great1👍
Thanks 👍
Well done Paul a fantastic job on technology that is so new.
Most important question, does your wife like it?
She loves it
So around 5k cheaper than the absolute lowest cars on the market. I'd say you've done well!

I bought a puma that I get today , I did the unthinkable and increased my bid , , 800 fees
ouch
@@CarsForPaul I know , still I'm trying to find a place that will reset my srs and reset my seatbelts
Not a fan of the electric cars and a shame the repair wasn’t blended in, still enjoyable videos though. 👍🏼
Bless 🙌
An undamaged 2021 plate car on autotrader is £16000.

It really is a shame to end it with a second rate paint job. I couldn't live with it. Hope your wife can. Great content otherwise Paul
What a bad paint job😱
First comment here love you Paul (no homo)
