@@luketorpedo it didn't get taken down as a clone no, I just didn't bother keeping it up to date and it fell out of step with their security protocols etc.
Revenue stayed strong for a little while after this video but then flat lined to zero once the hype died dowm

U can create a lot profit ,20-30 k dollars probably in a month ,just select a suitable game ,there is a game u can make similar and advance game like that by changing characters and design through that u can achieve such success,i don't know about gaming development but have ideas 💡,and u know how to create game ,let me know if u interested ,i don't have money but i can arrange some $ for u to make such game like that

Unity games never ever pay out, I cashed out over $3000 and didn't receive 1 single penny.

Interesting! It sounds that you did it for the experience of releasing your own game, which has way more value than the money you made but... What's your return on investment? Perhaps best way to calculate that is to subtract any costs, then work out how much your spare time is "worth" (what would you accept as a part time salary hourly rate) then multiply that by hours spent on it. Finally subtract the cost of hours worked on it from your net revenue. Naturally, only for interest sake.
Well I have a full time job so I was technically being paid (in annual leave terms while I worked on this)
My freelance rate for things is usually around £30 an hour - the initial prototype took 7 hours
£30 x 7
= £210
Plus I probably spent about another 21 hours on patching etc.
£210 x 3
+£630
- - -
£840
+ £20 (Google Play console fee)
- - -
£860 Total Costs.
- - -
£610 (4 Months Earning)
- £860 (Total Costs)
= -£250
....well shit :P

@@DanPos actually, that's not bad at all. As long as you keep your costs down going forward then the long tail will see it turn a profit eventually.
Now the next tough-ish question - do you consider that a success? I know that your metric for success to get a game out there and being downloaded, so... yes, that would be a success, but now you can see your thumb-in-the-air estimate, are you happy with it?
@@RobLang yeah I'm very happy with it as it didn't really "cost" me anything as I was just on annual leave and sat around the house, and the money raised allowed me to pick up a TV for my office and a display tablet to help with gamedev - any long tail is now going to be put into savings along with my UA-cam money to make a van 🚐

I'm not sure about the ads, I think maybe I set them up wrong? I'm not sure as they all seemed to be working yet no money came in whereas AdMob worked straight away

I was thinking i shouldnt put my game on the play store becausr chances are, nobody is gonna find it... but this is kind of giving me some torn feelings about it. Im not sure if i should make a mobile version..
I'd go through it, just so you know what the process and it will be easier the second time etc

This video is FULL OF LIE. No offense but as a game developer myself with mobile games published on google play. You're just spewing non-sense. The numbers don't line up!
864 USD for just one banner ad on your home screen? Are you treating us like fools? Then it's from 300,000 ad request? Not even an Impression? Just a request that means the actual impression is much more lower than 300,000. Let's say 150k impression. So you're saying now that your banner ad ECPM is 8 USD? What a lie. Another point is you're saying you've gathered 300,000 ad request from your little 3k installs?
Plus the fact that there's zero screenshot of your ad network report/dashboard shared in your video.
For context banner ads usually are less than $1 ECPM.
Normally I'd just ignore people going on the attack, but also don't like being called a liar 🙄
